Job Summary 

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Building Support Administrator to oversee the development and optimization of buildings within the Hackney cluster of a strategic funded programme. This cluster of churches in the Catholic tradition are working collaborative on a new mission project in the North-East Hackney area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all buildings are maintained to the highest standards and provide ongoing support to the local clergy.

You will be supporting churches in the Hackney area, working one day per week at St James Clapton with the remaining hours supporting other local churches.

Job responsibilities 

Administrative 

• Oversee maintenance of all equipment and buildings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulation e.g. photocopiers, boiler servicing, gas and electrical safety.

• Maintain building related records & liaise with Building Development Consultants.

• Administer Church bookings – including managing the bookings diary, dealing with enquiries, taking and confirming bookings on a selective basis depending on the suitability of the event/group. Invoice all bookings and record payments.

• Act as main contact point with tenants of church properties. Ensure we meet our landlord obligations, rent and utilities payments are collected on time, contracts are kept up to date and renewed as necessary 

• Maintain a close relationship with all users of our buildings and resolve any problems they may have 

Reception and Hospitality 

• Provide a friendly and professional welcome to visitors to the church and office. 

Other 

• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.

About the NEL VCSE Collaborative

The North East London (NEL) Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Collaborative works closely with NHS North East London to work together strategically by shaping, improving and delivering services and contributes to the system design and organisational development of the ICB, ensuring Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) contribution.

The leadership group of the seven borough representatives meet monthly and is currently working to develop a VCFSE strategy to raise the profile of the sector and support the VCFSE to work in partnership with the health system to address local health inequalities. We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven individual to join our Fundraising Team as the Community and Events Fundraiser. You will lead, plan, cost and deliver an exciting and varied community fundraising programme to grow income and a strong return on investment. JOB PURPOSE 

We are seeking a dynamic, creative and experienced corporate partnerships new business expert to join our team.

This pivotal new role will be responsible for securing high-value, seven-figure (financial and non-financial) partnerships with corporate entities that protect and empower refugees globally.

The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of strategic partnership prospecting, manage relationships with key corporate prospects, and line manage a Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer.

This role is an 18-month fixed-term contract.

Are you the right candidate? 

We are seeking a self-motivated, dynamic and experienced individual to join our senior management team. You will manage all financial aspects of our charity, and support income growth. You will oversee our planning, budgeting and forecasting and develop our financial management policies, systems and processes. You will support our CEO on funding bids and tenders and help us progress development of diverse income growth opportunities. You will also have management responsibility for the Finance and Administration Manager.

Applicants will have a good understanding of financial and charity standards and regulations, maintaining records in accordance with the Data Protection (GDPR) Act.  In addition, you must be able to demonstrate your active commitment to promoting equal opportunities and diversity.

At Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) we're dedicated to helping the successful integration of refugees and people seeking asylum into the local community. With over three decades of experience, we provide a comprehensive range of services including welfare support, immigration and legal advice, education, counselling, and career guidance.  

RAK employs 15 staff and currently has nearly 200 volunteers. In 2023/24 more than 2,000 people benefited from our services:

Role Overview

Location: We have an office in Kingston Upon Thames, greater London. Flexible and hybrid working is offered to all staff.

As the CEO of Refugee Action Kingston, you'll lead our organisation in supporting refugees and people seeking asylum in south west London to lead fulfilled and independent lives. Your responsibilities will include:  

Strategic leadership  

• Developing and implementing annual plans aligned with our strategy, in collaboration with the Board of Trustees, to achieve desired outcomes.  

• Maintaining efficient systems for the charity's operations, ensuring good governance and financial sustainability.  

• Overseeing all aspects of organisational management including finances, resources, services, and communications, in cooperation with trustees.  

 
Governance and organisational management  

• Working closely with trustees to direct and deliver RAK's objectives according to the charity's strategy.  

• Leading and supporting the RAK team to fulfil objectives, emphasising client needs, monitoring outcomes, and integrating learning into operations.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced, driven, and strategic CEO to lead the 30 staff and 60 volunteers at AUKE with great passion and energy. Role Requirements

• Proven track record of leadership and management across a range of responsibilities as CEO or similar senior level – ideally gained in a Charity or relevant sector

The Community Engagement Department enables our student community leaders to gain the knowledge, skills and connections for themselves and their student communities to thrive.  

Working with staff across the Community Engagement Department, the Training Coordinator works closely with the Training Manager to support staff to design and deliver high quality, impactful training for our 3000 student community leaders across 400+ student groups, 1000 student representatives, and our 6 full-time elected Student Officers, among other student communities. 

The Training Coordinator will support specialist staff across KCLSU to design and deliver a range of training spanning the breadth of community leadership, including but not limited to: student group management, event management, facilitation skills, volunteer management, project management, assessing impact, health & safety and safeguarding, effective representation, influencing & campaigning, community organising, protecting student rights, inclusion & accessibility, among others. 

This role forms a crucial element of the KCLSU and KCL Leadership Learning Initiative, a joint project designed to foster leadership skills among students, particularly those from under-represented backgrounds.

Job Specification

Student-facing Training 

- Lead the operational planning and delivery of our student-facing training programmes, including training our student group leaders, our elected sabbatical officers and our academic representatives, among others 
- Work with relevant staff across KCLSU to implement the KCLSU Training Strategy and share and promote best practice across the organisation

About StreetVet

Main Purpose of the Role

The Head of Volunteering will manage, develop and grow StreetVet’s Volunteer programme. They will have overall responsibility to recruit, onboard, induct, train, support, communicate with, develop and recognise volunteers as well as ensure good governance and compliance. The Head of Volunteering will act as an ambassador for volunteering across all StreetVet locations and externally. The Head of Volunteering will monitor and evaluate the impact of StreetVet’s volunteering programme and will identify and assess opportunities to develop the programme further.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the StreetVet Volunteering Strategy

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the volunteer programme across all locations and work with the clinical team to ensure appropriate and robust processes are in place to provide suitable and high-quality care for the animals StreetVet work with.

• Develop and grow the volunteer programme to continually improve the volunteering experience at StreetVet.

• Review and refine all volunteer processes, policies and documentation to improve standards and ensure compliance.

• Oversee the recruitment and retention of volunteers, including the review and maintenance of all volunteer-related data, ensuring that it is compliant with data protection and GDPR principles.

• Oversee the development and provision of effective induction and learning and development activities appropriate for volunteer roles, working with key contacts across the charity and liaising with existing volunteers as required.

• Work to ensure all volunteers are aware of and adhere to StreetVet’s policies on safeguarding and working with vulnerable individuals.

• Develop effective methods of communicating with volunteers about their volunteering and the activities of the wider charity and provide opportunities for volunteers to communicate with each other.

• Oversee the development and provision of volunteer reward and recognition activities.

• Deal appropriately with escalated issues around volunteering, using tact, diplomacy and mitigating reputational and other risks that might be involved. This may include working in conjunction with management on issues that involve staff, as well as sensitively managing and, on occasion, terminating volunteer agreements when deemed appropriate.

• Establish and develop relationships with key stakeholders across the charity to ensure a consistent and best practice approach to volunteering across our locations and central volunteer team.

• Provide advice and guidance to staff that work with volunteers to ensure they receive appropriate support and development.

• Ensure effective use of the volunteer database and other tools to record, produce and analyse metrics on volunteer involvement, recruitment, retention and other relevant KPIs.
