About us
Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. This includes childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called ‘honour’ based crimes such as forced marriage.
Our goal is to promote, preserve, and restore the mental health and wellbeing of women and girls, to empower them to make a total and sustainable recovery from the experiences of violence. VAWG crimes, which include domestic abuse, rape, sexual assault, stalking, and harassment, accounted for 20% of total police recorded crime in England and Wales between 2022 and 2023. About the role
We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. The role will have two direct reports – Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role and will have full responsibility for the finance function on a day to day and medium-term basis. The Financial Controller is to lead on all financial systems set up and upgrades.
Although the organisation is well established, this is a growing sector, and the organisation has gone through rapid change over the past few years and is therefore offering the right candidate a great opportunity to deliver change and make a real difference to WGN’s staff and clients.
Role Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the management and development of the Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Officer.
- Preparing the year-end statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors.
- Responsible for ensuring that all financial controls are implemented and adhered to within the organisation, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Supporting non-finance colleagues and stakeholders in understanding all requirements related to the funding agreements.
- Leading the month-end process with the support of the Finance Business Partner and the Senior Finance Officer.
- Leading on all financial systems set up and upgrades.
- Ensuring that all restricted funds are used in accordance with the funding agreements.

About you
If you are someone who has strong financial reporting, budget setting, and year end processing skills, with a keen eye on details and drive to facilitate change and enhance the finance function this role would be for you.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience in working with the charity sector in a similar role for at least two years.
- Work well with non-finance colleagues and trustees in delivering key financial reports in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Be a qualified accountant.
- Be comfortable working in a hands-on environment

The Awards Management Unit (AMU)
AMU has responsibility for identifying, securing and managing all funding from government donors for the IRC. AMU is a bridge between donors and the IRC’s work on the ground. The team provides expert technical advice to colleagues delivering our services around the world, ensures consistency and compliance with our donors’ policies and procedures, and manages risk. The unit also supports all IRC staff working on awards from government donors and partnerships.
The Purpose of the Role
The Senior Advisor, FCDO Donor Engagement will lead, guide and coordinate IRC’s funding focused engagement with UK Government’s Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). The post holder will provide an internal and external “account management” function to support engagement with these donors. The role is responsible for providing expertise and leadership on donor relations. It will work closely with technical and proposal development teams who will provide the operational BD capacity to secure significant growth in its funding portfolio from the UK Government and to protect IRC’s funding share, through influential engagement around policy shifts, working in close collaboration with Policy & Solutions as well as Advocacy & Influence.
The FCDO Senior Advisor will lead the development and implementation of strategies for proactive donor and partner relationships on behalf of IRC. The role will develop and maintain positive working relationships and standards of collaboration with senior colleagues across the organization, including the Awards Management Unit, International Division (CRRD) and External Relations. The role will also lead FCDO liaison on Business Development with the President’s Office, advising the leadership board on relevant trends in FCDO funding.
Major Responsibilities:
Strategy
- Collaborate with senior leaders to develop, update and lead a comprehensive UK-focused business development strategy including approaches, tools, and metrics.
- Lead the development and implementation of the UK donor engagement strategy including coordinating actions of relevant stakeholders.
External Representation
- Develop and maintain a network of senior stakeholders within relevant FCDO teams to ensure effective engagement, influence and winning BD approaches.
- Undertake direct representation with donor officials, and support the development of IRC’s donor relationships, including brokering meetings between donors and Regional and Technical Leadership, Country Directors, and supporting the preparation for these engagements.
- Participate in key meetings with FCDO officials, including Desk/Program Officers, Heads of Unit, Director-General/equivalent, advisors and other officials.
- Represent the IRC at external meetings, events, and forums including delivering presentations/briefings to senior donor representatives, forums and sector groups.
Enabling cross organizational engagement with UK Govt
- Proactively identify and broker relationships with key UK FCDO officials and stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of donor strategies relevant to IRC’s work, such as funding priorities, geographical interests and political climate, providing analyses and synopses of press releases, policies and other announcements, and disseminating this information internally.
- Map donor organizational structure, identify key contacts and maintain relationship records in IRC’s CRM system.
- Maintain and contribute to the improvement of tools and resources to support donor engagement and relationship building with donors.
- Work with key staff across the organization to support UK business development planning and implementation, routinely engaging with operational BD teams at global, regional and country levels to review long term pipeline, plan strategic engagement and mitigate portfolio risk.
- Equip IRC staff with the skills, tools and information to manage local, or technical donor engagement, business development and implementation.
- Coordinate across IRC teams to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely messaging for FCDO.
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

About the role

You will have experience of working in a policy role and excellent knowledge of health policy. A good understanding of how to use health data most effectively in the pursuit of policy ambitions, and experience of working in or with Government or Parliament would be an advantage.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference by playing a vital role in our work across the Hampshire. Reporting into the local team and supported by the national fundraising team, this role will be responsible for engaging volunteers both as individuals and groups across the area to raise funds for MHA. You will work closely with all MHA services, building relationships and inspiring and empowering local fundraising to enable those who choose to use our services to thrive. This will include supporting those who wish to fundraise In Memory and utilising MHA’s fundraising products.

About You
Are you a passionate and skilled community fundraiser keen to play a key role in building a local network of community fundraising volunteers? Purpose of the job/About the role
Join the People team as a Learning and Development Assistant and play a key role in delivering high-quality administrative support to our Learning and Development team. You will provide a customer-focused service, ensuring the smooth running of our learning and development initiatives.
Working closely with the Learning and Development Manager and the wider team, you will help support the ongoing learning, development, and talent management processes at Dementia UK. Your role will include liaising with suppliers to schedule training sessions as part of our Learning Programme, as directed by the Learning and Development Manager. You will also monitor the Learning inbox, ensuring timely responses to queries. You’ll manage the learning request form, ensuring staff are enrolled in Learning Programme courses and escalating external requests to the Learning and Development Manager when necessary.
In addition, you will assist with the onboarding of new starters by setting them up on our learning platforms, such as LinkedIn Learning and iHasco. You will also support key policies and processes related to performance and feedback, including appraisals, 360 feedback, and our recognition scheme. This involves responding to first-line queries and escalating them where appropriate, as well as supporting the delivery of 360 feedback processes and our quarterly recognition awards.
To succeed in this role, you will possess exceptional customer service skills and have a strong understanding of meeting customer needs within a structured policy framework. You should have experience working with Microsoft Office 365 applications and ideally have prior experience working within a busy UK-based L&D, People, or HR team. Charity experience, as well as holding or working towards a CIPD qualification is a plus.
