Interim Finance Director
Location: London – Hybrid (flexi)

Salary: £75,000 - £85,000
Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Director will be part of In Kind Direct’s leadership team and contribute to the overall leadership, strategic direction and decision-making of the organisation.

Specifically, you will lead the development and performance of financial strategies that enable long-term financial sustainability and efficient operations of the organisation, all with the focus on delivering greater impact to those we serve. You will advise the CEO and Board on these strategies, including working with the Partnerships and Impact Director and Commercial Director to set the philanthropic and commercial income strategies.
The Finance Director will also be responsible for implementing and developing financial planning, budgeting and forecasting to support IKD’s decision making for increased impact and improve IKD’s effectiveness and efficiency. This includes responsibility for the development and maintenance of the internal finance controls, policies, procedures and systems. Finally, you will also lead decision-making on investments, reserves and the management of financial strategy and risks, taking into account our approach to sustainability. Previous experience in eCommerce and distribution will be a significant advantage given the innovative In Kind Direct model.
Skills and experience you will bring
• Experience working at FD level with in-depth knowledge of financial and operational management, ideally including relevant experience within the charity sector.
• Strategic thinker experienced in collaborative strategy development.
• Innovative, curious and rigorous - able to find strategic solutions and work at pace to support commercial and operational decisions [CW5] with modelling that drive greater impact.
• Fully qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Understanding of Ecommerce and distribution is highly desirable.
• Wide experience of business planning, functional development and performance reporting, including to the Board of Trustees.
• Experience managing outsourced finance teams desirable.
• An experienced leader with a track record of delivering ambitious goals, bringing together diverse, inclusive, high performing teams.
• Equally adept at and enthused by engaging in strategic decision making and rolling up their sleeves to get involved in the day-to-day delivery of In Kind Direct.

The Methodist Church is at an exciting point in the development of its ministry with young adults (18-30). We are seeking to appoint someone with enthusiasm and passion for seeing young adults connect with God and explore their calling as a follower of Christ.
This role is integral to the delivery of the Young Adult Ministry Development Plan, and will focus on the following priorities:
- The management, development and advocacy of a new Young Adult Mission Placement Scheme, which aims to provide opportunities for young adults to be employed (or volunteer) in mission-focused placements in local churches and circuits where they can explore their vocation.
- Advocating for, supporting and enabling creative and relevant young adult ministry to be started and embedded in circuits and districts by journeying with local circuits/districts, providing advice and mentoring as appropriate to pilot creative projects for young adults to engage with and grow in discipleship and vocation.

Our Outreach Teaching Assistants and Teachers support students who aren’t currently able to attend school, for example because of mental or physical health needs or challenges in previous schools.
This is a mobile role which requires flexibility; you and a teacher will work from a designated space in the family home, or at a local library, and offer personalized education for each student. Our ideal candidate is inclusive and uses the child as the starting point to plan an engaging and suitable curriculum which helps each child to meet their EHCP outcomes and grow academically too.
We work hard to match the right student with the right teacher and Teaching Assistant; you may be an expert with students in a particular age group (our students range from 6 to 16), subject, or enjoy working with students who have particular needs such as SEMH, hearing impairments or Autism Spectrum Condition. Almost all of our students have EHCPs, though their needs are quite varied. Our students benefit from creative approaches to learning so you can have fun with how to you teach!
Because of their vulnerabilities and often disrupted learning experiences, our students need a caring approach and our work is underpinned by the principles of Attachment Theory. To flourish in this role you must care about children and believe that every child deserves the best opportunity to achieve their potential, whatever that looks like.
The ideal candidate will also be able to develop positive relationships with parents and carers. Experience working with students with SEND or in a Special School is advantageous but not essential. We’re also interested in hearing from applicants who have other experiences in the SEND arena for example, parents and carers of students with SEND often have a wealth of valuable knowledge and experience to offer.

You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside health professionals in a hospital environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse. You must be comfortable with running group training sessions and be willing and able to share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital. The Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation is a drug and alcohol education charity, founded by Fiona and Tim Spargo-Mabbs in 2014 in response to the death of their 16-year-old son Dan having taken ecstasy. The charity aims to support young people to make safe choices and reduce harm, through increasing their understanding of the effects and risks of drugs and alcohol, and improving their life skills & resilience. We work with young people, parents, teachers and professionals, in schools, colleges and communities across the UK.
You’ll be responsible for arranging and confirming bookings for Theatre in Education play performances within schools, coordinating DSMF events and working with the existing Bookings Administrator to support our ever-growing delivery of drug education workshops withing schools. A key aspect of your work will be developing effective professional relationships with the theatre companies commissioned to deliver the performances, and with the schools we work with.
