A Waking Night Support Worker will work to support people throughout the night at the service.This ensures members of the local community are able to access critical mental health support at all hours.

What you'll do:
- Building supportive, trusting relationships with people and creating a positive atmosphere
- Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities
- Conducting key work sessions as required, that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals
- Co-producing ongoing assessment and management of risks in collaboration with young people with an attitude of 'positive risk taking'
- Providing support with daily living activities, including practical assistance to support young people s to independent living e.g. budgeting, cooking, establishing a night time routine
- Supporting young people to maintain a healthy environment and where appropriate assisting them to clean their accommodation and maintain good personal hygiene
- Assisting in the recording and reporting of customer incidents
- Managing referrals, completing assessments and obtaining and maintaining all relevant paperwork
- Developing productive relationships with partner organisations to improve service outcomes

Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. This includes childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called ‘honour’ based crimes such as forced marriage.

About the role
The Advice Casework Manager (ACM) is a new and exciting role within the Advice Service, and the post holder will spearhead the development and coordination of Women and Girls Network’s (WGN) casework provision. You will be leading a team of experienced caseworkers, managing the day to day running of WGN’s Advice Casework provision, enabling and leading the facilitation of innovative, responsive, trauma-informed and culturally appropriate services for survivors of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Service development will be a pivotal part of this role; this will include identifying gaps in service provision and service reach, and creating opportunities for service development and innovation; as well as enhancing the service profile and visibility, building and maintaining effective partnership working with key agencies that are relevant for survivors of VAWG in London.
The ACM will provide leadership, guidance and support, creating and promoting a supportive, collaborative and productive working environment, where professional growth, development and successes are enabled and celebrated.

About CARIS Families
CARIS Families is a small, frontline charity that supports families who are homeless and living in overcrowded multi-occupant hostels in the London Boroughs of Hackney and Camden. Life in temporary accommodation hostels entrenches children and their parents in poverty and disadvantage. Families suffer from acute overcrowding, inadequate basic facilities and a permanent sense of unsafety. The nature of hostel life isolates people from their support networks, decimates their physical and mental health and becomes an adverse life experience in itself for families already suffering the trauma of having become homeless.
CARIS Families exists to provide early intervention to mitigate the worst effects of hostel life and homelessness for children and parents in our four target hostels. We do this by providing hands-on play, learning and social activities to help children meet their potential, improve families’ wellbeing and build their support network. We provide a holistic family support service that case-works with each family individually to reduce financial and other pressures on them as they wait for a permanent home. We also use our data and learned experiences about temporary accommodation to join campaigns for reform to temporary accommodation policy and practice, both locally and nationally.
We have just received funding to employ a dedicated Housing Rights Manager for the next two years. This is an exciting addition to our team, as it will be our first staff member dedicated to helping our homeless families with their housing case. The housing system is notoriously opaque: families tell us it can be a hopeless minefield to navigate independently and that they often can’t access meaningful help with it, resulting in years-long hostel stays. Our Housing Rights Manager will step into the gap and work with families on an individual basis to gain the information and support they need to progress their housing case and expedite their move-on into a suitable home.
About the role
Our Housing Rights Manager will be a key member of our Family Support Service. They will manage a weekly drop-in clinic from within the hostels where they will assess new housing cases and develop a support plan with families. They will manage a full housing caseload of housing support work, collaborating with relevant local groups, local authority partners and law centres to progress families’ housing cases. They will learn from the barriers families tell us they face, develop CARIS Families’ housing advice service in response and use these learnings to contribute to campaigns for reform to temporary accommodation practices and policies locally and nationally.
In their first year, the Housing Rights Manager will work in partnership with housing solicitors at Shelter to write a Housing Information and Rights handbook tailored to the processes of our target boroughs. The handbook will aim to demystify the temporary accommodation system in our two boroughs, explain residents’ legal rights and help them understand their options. It will form a key part of the support we can offer and allow us to reach many more families in hostels than our small staff team can individually casework with.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed staff team of just 5, working in a person-centred and community-minded way to make a real difference to families on the frontline of inner-London’s housing crisis.

We're seeking a Communications and Fundraising Officer to join our team.
IPSEA is a national charity that works to ensure that children and young people with SEND receive the educational support they are legally entitled to. Since we were formed in 1983, we have helped to improve the education experience of thousands of children and young people with all kinds of SEND. We do this by providing free and independent legal advice and casework support, undertaking policy work and delivering training on the SEND law framework.
This newly created position is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in advancing our communications and fundraising strategies. You’ll improve external communications for our charity and help us to raise the funds needed to expand our impact.
In this varied role, you will create and manage engaging content across our digital platforms and support a range of fundraising activities. We are looking for someone who is creative, proactive, and organised, with experience in digital content creation and social media management.

IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE
This role will involve designing the 'Missing Employees' service, encompassing the scoping and structuring process, becoming the subject matter expert for the charity, and developing our menu of support to be able to offer casework support and guidance to organisations and individuals affected. This will involve working directly with adults at risk who are missing or who have experience of being missing.
You will develop guidance, policy and learning and development in this new area for the charity. You will form a new pioneering service through the building of expertise in this area and will lead in delivering support to individuals and organisations when someone goes missing, providing advice, advocacy and a confidential listening ear. You will reach out to organisations and HR leads to offer training and consultancy, so they are best prepared for missing employee experiences.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Service development
• Scope requirements for the service by working with the project steering group, identifying gaps in existing service provision and working with teams across the charity.
• Work with the Head of Service Development to design the service, including structure, design capacity, resource needs, KPIs and delivery methods.
• Develop the charity's expertise around employment law regarding missing, including policy and impact of those affected.
• Work closely through co-production with families, adults who have been missing and companies who have experienced a missing colleague, seeking feedback, sharing their experiences and developing the service and tools it needs.
• Build relationships with organisations and steward them to become financial supporters of the charity.
• Work with the Business Development Team and Corporate Fundraising team to create user journeys for companies from advice to financial support to the charity.
Service delivery
• Provide confidential consultation, advice and guidance to; employers, colleagues, adults who are returning to work after being missing and family members communicating with employers.
• Proactively contact organisations when it becomes clear they have a missing employee.
• Work with organisations, providing consultation and needs assessment, so HR professionals, line managers, and colleagues are trained and have processes in place to manage ‘Missing Employee’ incidents.
ABOUT YOU
Experience should include:
• Experience of scoping, designing and structuring a new service.
• Experience of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders – for example steering groups, service users, and cross-organisational colleagues.
• Experience of writing and designing guidance and forming new policy documents and operational guidelines.
• Experience of project management and leading change.
