General (Company) Secretary
This pivotal role includes managing board agendas, recording accurate minutes, and fulfilling the duties of a Company Secretary. Candidates with legal expertise or previous experience as a Company Secretary are especially encouraged to apply.
Volunteer Lead
This role involves chairing the Volunteer Committee and leading efforts to enhance the experience of our 1,000+ volunteers. Experience in professional HR or volunteer management will be a distinct advantage.

About the role
The role of a Connexional Support Officer (CSO) is to support ministers, spouses or civil partners in the event of a breakdown of a marriage and to ensure the correct level of support has been provided.
About You
We are looking for an experienced, committed person who will:
· Be a member in good standing of the Methodist Church in Britain or another denomination.
· Have previous experience of pastoral care.
· Have an understanding of the structure of the Methodist Church and knowledge of the Covenant relationship between the Conference and its ministers.
· Have an understanding of confidentiality and to communicate effectively.
· Have an ability to offer unbiased support.
· Have an awareness of safeguarding concerns and the operation of the complaints and discipline processes within the Church.

You will support people to access healthcare and overcome barriers, providing much-needed practical support. Your time will be split working in our Stratford (East London) Clinic, Outreach Services in East London, and on our remote Advice Line and Casework.
You will be the first point of contact for patients in a health promotion setting, you will listen to peoples’ needs and identify other support services. They also support and challenge the leadership team to enable WPT to grow and thrive. The Board operates as a collective group. The skill sets of our Trustees include marketing, HR, finance, biological sciences, media, project management, legal, academic, local government, and business leadership. Whilst specialist knowledge in zoos and conservation is always appreciated, we welcome a range of skills and, above all, a genuine enthusiasm and commitment to the aims of the Trust. At the current time, we would be particularly interested in candidates with significant marketing experience. East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.

Plans to develop our board
As a general trustee, you would contribute to our Board across all areas of InFocus. You may be assigned to any one of our committees – Business Affairs, Education or Adult Care but you would not need to be a specialist in education or care. You would support the scrutiny of our activities across the board and offer challenge to the staff team.
You will have experience of committee work, preferably in a trustee, governor or director role. You may have skills in a specific area such as Property Management, Health and Safety, legal, HR, fundraising and so on that could support a specific area of our work but again this is not essential. What is essential is a real interest in our work and a commitment to doing the very best for the young people we support.
The Board meets seven times a year and is also invited to all events and celebrations which is optional. Trustees are warmly encouraged to attend meetings in person, but if required can attend some meetings online. Expenses are paid for travel and overnight accommodation can be arranged for those not local to Devon.

Treasurer - We are looking for a board member with financial expertise to act as the organisation’s Treasurer, in order to maintain effective governance of the organisation’s financial affairs. This role may include supporting to prepare financial reports, advising on how to carry out financial responsibilities, scrutiny of the annual accounts and undertaking some financial duties.
Level of commitment
The role involves attending a minimum of four 90-minute online board meetings a year and an in-person annual Away Day in London, with reading and preparation beforehand. There are also opportunities to get involved with sub-committees and provide support to the organisation in other ways.

We’re seeking a volunteer to take on the essential role of Corporate Training Manager, who will lead in all things training and development, supporting our charity by creating and implementing training programmes that empower our volunteers and staff. This includes setting up the training function at SUNSHINE from scratch.
As the Corporate Training Manager, you will play a crucial role in our transformative mission. Your role will involve:

Training Architect: Design, develop, and implement comprehensive training programmes to equip our volunteers and staff with the skills they need to succeed and thrive within their roles and within our charity.

Leadership Developer: Create leadership development initiatives to nurture future leaders within our organization.

Curriculum Designer: Develop training materials, manuals, and resources that align with our mission and values.

Performance Coach: Provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure continuous improvement and development.

Team Builder: Foster a culture of learning and growth, creating a close-knit team of dedicated, passionate, and committed individuals who embody the values of SUNSHINE.

Experience Creator: Ensure that everyone involved with SUNSHINE feels the positive, uplifting, vibrant, and happy sunshine vibes.
Who We’re Looking For:

Training Experience: You have experience in corporate training, learning and development, or a related field. You have the ability to set up our training function at SUNSHINE and lead from the front.

Organisational Skills: You possess strong organisational and communication skills.
