Age UK are recruiting for Network Engagement & Support Managers to work closely with a regional allocation of local Age UK partners to:Establish strong relationships with local leaders in particular COs and Chairs and develop a comprehensive understanding of each allocated partner, their strategy, priorities, specialisms, and challenges acting as a sounding board for strategic development, planning and problem solving.  

Facilitating effective connections and engagements that enable knowledge sharing and learning and specialist or peer support between partners, the national organisation, within regions and with outsourced support where appropriate.  

To be a subject matter expert on allocated local partners, gathering intelligence and disseminating appropriately, advocating on behalf of the network by working collaboratively across the team and division to give an amplified voice to partners within the national organisation and governance.

This is a home-based role for UK based candidates only.

There is a requirement to travel to Network partners across the UK as and when required. This may include overnight stays.

The Role: This is an exciting new position for a highly motivated, organized, and analytical individual with the opportunity to make a real difference in a growing organization. As our Government Fundraising Specialist, you will be at the forefront of implementing our government fundraising strategy. This role involves a blend of research, advocacy, strategic proposal development, and guidance on contractual and donor compliance. The Role

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work across both Houses of Parliament to ensure that our updated Safeguarding policy is effectively implemented and embedded across our varied teams.

The Parliamentary Estate is a mixed-use site, with many different activities involving a wide range of individuals: from members and staff of both Houses, to visitors on democratic access tours and attending proceedings, school children on educational tours, VIP visitors and parliamentary delegations, and tourists from all over the world.

You will need to work with teams across Parliament to understand these different activities, assess the risks of harm to children and adults at risk, the likelihood of those risks materialising, and how Parliament can effectively mitigate them. You will lead in the roll out of our updated Safeguarding policy alongside the development of a network of trained safeguarding coordinators, developing a community of interest to share best practice and guidance.

• To be the lead source of advice and guidance on safeguarding policy and practice within Parliament.

About the role

We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. The role will have two direct reports – Finance Business Partner and Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role and will have full responsibility for the finance function on a day to day and medium-term basis. Your role will be to provide high quality support for children with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex therapeutic, medical and health needs, placing their quality of life at the centre of what we do. Under direction from the teacher, and with support from the class team, you will be responsible for the development and education of all pupils in your allocated class

You will be a natural and enthusiastic leader able to provide challenge and support to a high performing team.

About this key role

As our specialist worker you will provide peer supervisory support to the team within the wider hospital based services, which includes deputising for the Senior Caseworker, and supporting the Data Coordinator and Senior Caseworker with the collation of information and data for project monitoring purposes. We will also count on you to develop and maintain strong relationships with clinicians and hospital staff, while also identifying onward referral pathways with other services in the hospital such as CAMHS, IDVA, COMPASS and other statutory and voluntary sectors in the community.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will also help to identify and assess young victims of violence and to provide support, advice and advocacy for both them and their families as they plan to be discharged from hospital back into the community. You will produce support and risk management plans based on your assessments and deliver a holistic support service that includes practical help such as social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, ETE options, benefits work, appearing in court, DIY work and cleaning.

What we are looking for

• Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with ‘high risk’, vulnerable children, young people and/or families.
• Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team, working together to achieve positive outcomes for young people and establishing links to further the aims of a project.
• Experience of using support plans to enable people to successfully access support services.
• Substantial experience of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young people.
• Proven experience of working in a high intensity environment.
• A working knowledge of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area.
• First-class interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.
