About the Service 

Hertfordshire Mind Network’s Nightlight Service is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing Mental health Crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways. We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our Helpline, Crisis Cafes and a 24/7 Crisis House. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary.

As a member of our team you will work closely with service users in crisis by using a person-centred approach as to ensure that each individual is supported with dignity and respect. 

About the role

As a Crisis House Support Worker, you will work closely with other staff as part of a team in supporting the development of quality Crisis Support and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the provision.

Purpose of Post

To be a key member of staff supporting the delivery of the Nightlight mental health Crisis Service. You will take part in a rota which covers a 24/7 hour service, 365 days a year. Drawing upon your own lived and/or professional experience (where applicable,) in order to provide a mix of face-to-face, therapeutic and holistic support for those accessing overnight provision. You will work closely with other staff as part of a team in supporting the development of quality Crisis Support and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the provision.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide emotional support and work towards developing, flexible and realistic crisis/person-centred plans with Service Users.
• To work within agreed guidelines with and for Service Users, whilst being guided and supported by Senior Staff (as well as the Leadership team) in regard to documents/plans such as: Assessments of Need, Risk, Crisis support plans and Review forms.
• (If applicable) To draw upon one’s own lived experience as appropriate, as to promote the delivery of person-centred support.
• To provide immediate and appropriate advice and information to clients as to support with crisis prevention.
• To liaise with Nightlight management and external services such as: police, ambulance service, Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team, Single Point of Access, Safeguarding Out of Hours Service, Mental Health Liaison Teams, Adult Community Mental health Services, etc. as needed in terms of accepting referrals and proactively recognising the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitating appropriate support.
• Complete appropriate signposting/onward referrals to both internal and external services in accordance with identified needs and risks.
• Ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standards at all times and contributing to service monitoring requirements.
• Arranging transport for service users to facilitate access to services as needed.
• Assisting with housekeeping/cleaning tasks as necessary and reporting any maintenance problems in line with policy and Health and Safety standards.
• Support clients with activities of daily living as required.
• To participate in all Training and Development opportunities relevant to the role and those included in one’s Personal Development Plan, as agreed with line manager.
• To contribute to the co-development of the service by supporting Service User, Family and Carer involvement by obtaining feedback and supporting (where necessary) opportunities to be involved in wider service reviews.

Tameside SHS is a mental health, 24 hour supported housing and community-based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, tenancy support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards. Care to join us?

As a Specialist Intervention Coach your challenge will be to monitor, develop and share good practice across staff teams to ensure individuals and teams are better equipped to work with a greater range of challenging support needs.  We’ll also rely on you to provide high quality intensive support using psychotherapeutic intervention and support the staff team in delivering these. Working to deliver the guided intervention model and brief interventions for Waythrough as a requirement of service expectations will be important too. What’s more, when it comes to seeking to maximise a multi-agency approach for complex cases, provide effective leadership in formulating support plans or ensuring data entry to reporting systems is accurate, timely and in line with quality assurance requirements, again we’ll count on you.

You’ll be working closely with a range of professionals to ensure risk assessment, management and safeguarding requirements are effectively planned, assessed responded to and met, so good verbal and written communication skills are essential. You’ll also need a track record of dealing with ‘high risk’ clients and managing resources effectively, as well as experience of carrying out investigations and writing reports and recommendations. Solution focused and outcome driven, you’re great at leading, supervising and motivating staff and delegating work appropriately, have a firm but inclusive, open and encouraging management style and lots of tact and diplomacy. You’re comfortable managing conflicting demands and priorities too and have a flexible attitude to working hours and willingness to participate in on call arrangements.

East Hampshire Supported Housing provides 12-hour professional support throughout the night for people with mental health issues. We provide a person-centred holistic approach to promote the recovery of the people who live there and help them regain their independence. The individuals entering the service have high-level support and care needs that can include serious mental illness and/or a history of substance misuse.

Our role is to support them, identify and meet their diverse needs and help them on their personalised recovery journey.

About the role

This challenging front-line role comes with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service, contracts, staff and building maintenance. As well as ensuring the very best delivery and offering direct employment support to Service Users, you’ll be responsible for promoting the service and managing all referrals. About the role:

As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for providing a housing management service to the service users living in Vibrance owned and managed services. PRHA’s Support Teams are seeking three enthusiastic Enhanced Housing Officers to work with our amazing residents.

Providence Row Housing Association has been helping homeless people in East London since 1860. We provide social housing along with excellent services that aim to support homeless people with complex needs and enable their recovery. We remain committed to our East London roots and currently serve the communities in Tower Hamlets, Hackney and the City of London.

Our Enhanced Housing Officers provide a housing service to hostel residents who find it difficult to maintain and sustain their accommodation. You will be working in partnership with a wide range of other services to ensure that our residents are motivated and supported through pre- and post- sign up, to claim benefits and grants, manage their accommodation, report repairs and complaints, access education, and develop financial skills.

Enhanced Housing Officers also conduct surveys of residents view and opinions, assist with audits and reporting on the service, help to ensure compliance with H&S regulation and best practice, and work with a Support Team which promotes person centred coproduced approaches.

You need to have experience of working with homeless people with complex needs, have a good understanding of housing management and Health and Safety regulation, be competent with computer systems, and comfortable completing regular performance reports. The Enhanced Housing Officers is a day shift based role with evening and weekend working. Depending on the service, you may also be required to do sleep-in shifts.

About CARIS Families

CARIS Families is a small, frontline charity that supports families who are homeless and living in overcrowded multi-occupant hostels in the London Boroughs of Hackney and Camden. Life in temporary accommodation hostels entrenches children and their parents in poverty and disadvantage. Families suffer from acute overcrowding, inadequate basic facilities and a permanent sense of unsafety. The nature of hostel life isolates people from their support networks, decimates their physical and mental health and becomes an adverse life experience in itself for families already suffering the trauma of having become homeless.

CARIS Families exists to provide early intervention to mitigate the worst effects of hostel life and homelessness for children and parents in our four target hostels. We do this by providing hands-on play, learning and social activities to help children meet their potential, improve families’ wellbeing and build their support network.  We provide a holistic family support service that case-works with each family individually to reduce financial and other pressures on them as they wait for a permanent home.  We also use our data and learned experiences about temporary accommodation to join campaigns for reform to temporary accommodation policy and practice, both locally and nationally.

We have just received funding to employ a dedicated Housing Rights Manager for the next two years. This is an exciting addition to our team, as it will be our first staff member dedicated to helping our homeless families with their housing case. The housing system is notoriously opaque: families tell us it can be a hopeless minefield to navigate independently and that they often can’t access meaningful help with it, resulting in years-long hostel stays. Our Housing Rights Manager will step into the gap and work with families on an individual basis to gain the information and support they need to progress their housing case and expedite their move-on into a suitable home.

About the role

Our Housing Rights Manager will be a key member of our Family Support Service. They will manage a weekly drop-in clinic from within the hostels where they will assess new housing cases and develop a support plan with families. They will manage a full housing caseload of housing support work, collaborating with relevant local groups, local authority partners and law centres to progress families’ housing cases. They will learn from the barriers families tell us they face, develop CARIS Families’ housing advice service in response and use these learnings to contribute to campaigns for reform to temporary accommodation practices and policies locally and nationally.

In their first year, the Housing Rights Manager will work in partnership with housing solicitors at Shelter to write a Housing Information and Rights handbook tailored to the processes of our target boroughs. The handbook will aim to demystify the temporary accommodation system in our two boroughs, explain residents’ legal rights and help them understand their options. It will form a key part of the support we can offer and allow us to reach many more families in hostels than our small staff team can individually casework with.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed staff team of just 5, working in a person-centred and community-minded way to make a real difference to families on the frontline of inner-London’s housing crisis.

Managing a patch of 4 units across our services you will ensure that challenging rent collection targets are met but also that everything is done to avoid eviction. Your personal qualities are as important in this role as your work experience.

Working alongside Operational Colleagues, the Income and Housing Officer will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of generic Housing Management services across their patch with the main focus on Income Collection and some ASB management. You will be expected to meet tight KPI's increasing rent collection and carry out rent arrears actions at all stages from the initial warning letters to the eviction stage.

In order to effectively deliver the services listed above to their patch, the Income and Housing Officer will need to work closely with Contract Managers and Support Workers working within our projects to empower and enable them to carry out their responsibilities. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills are a pre-requisite to the role. The post holder will be extremely flexible and have the ability to effectively manage multiple projects at one time.

What you'll do:

* Take responsibility for maximising rent collection across a defined patch of Look Ahead's portfolio of properties ensuring that rent collection targets are met and tenancies sustained
* Advise operational teams on their support related arrears management activities, including holding local surgeries with tenants and staff, taking direct control of higher level and more complex arrears cases
* Proactively monitor all current and former accounts within the defined patch and make recommendations to the Contract Manager for appropriate former accounts to be written off or referred to Look Ahead's debt collection agency
* Ensure that the rent collection function is carried out both sensitively and in a timely fashion so as to avoid the build up of excessive arrears and record all case details accurately.
* Ensure that all sign ups within the defined patch are done accurately on the correct type of tenancy and at the correct rent and service charge levels.

About you:

An understanding of the needs of customers who have experienced homelessness and who may also have support needs.

We are excited to be taking the lead in the London Whole Housing Service Partnership (LWHSP) which will address and enhance the pathways of housing support for women experiencing domestic abuse, from removing them from immediate harm, to enabling recovery and resettlement across all levels of need. The LWHSP are seeking to build on our delivery across 11 East and West London boroughs of the Whole Housing Approach (WHA).

The Housing IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. You will specialise in working with clients for whom housing, and risk of tenancy breakdown is a factor. You will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. You will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to work as part of Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

About You:

As a Housing IDVA, you will need to have a degree of flexibility for colocation work across London boroughs; providing support to women who have experienced domestic violence, focusing on individuals with housing or tenancy issues. Working in our fast-paced crisis intervention, advocacy and support service, you’ll ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. You will have your own caseload of survivors and will focus on working with those aged 18 and over who access our domestic abuse service.

You will bring experience in providing independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women who approach housing advice and assessment for help. Ideally experience in working with housing service providers, and advising women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies. You will have the ability to develop individual safety and support plans in-line with the clients’ needs and the risks they face.

Our client, a Northwest based charity, provides accommodation and support to people who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes. They are looking for 3 temporary Supported Housing Workers to join their rapidly growing Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children service with the potential for longer term opportunities for the right candidate. Working hours are Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, and are a mix between office and outreach to people in dispersed properties across Manchester.

The Service Manager at Carlisle's Melbourne View CQC Registered supported living scheme is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the on-site recovery team. The service consists of 11 self-contained flats, a community service and dispersed housing.

Within Learning Disability services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. Within Mental Health and Homelessness services they will enable vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package. While carrying out activities, Bank Support Workers should deal with all customers, visitors and staff in a professional and appropriate manner and report to Look Ahead staff and management any observations relating to customers' welfare.
