An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Younger Persons Support Officer to join our client's team in Hereford.

They are looking for a positive and engaging support officer to deliver high quality support outcomes with the use of SMART support plans to enable and prepare young people to successfully transition into independence.

A big part of this role is around engagement so you should be able to build good working relationships with our young people. Your focus will be on youth engagement this will include planning and running regular resident meetings and workshops and have emphasis on youth voice, culture, and diversity.

You need to be confident when dealing with outside agencies to aid the growth of the service by developing new links and partnerships within the local community, with particular emphasis on training, employment, and work-based activities.

 The hours are based on a 7- day Rota on shifts 9am to 5pm, 11am to 7pm or 2pm to 10pm

Full-time (37.5 hours per week) / Permanent / Working on four nights on, four nights off rota including working over weekends and bank holidays. Although these are long shifts, you will get four days off after, which can provide a great work life balance.

We are looking for a Housing Mobile Night Worker to provide floating support to our teams in high support 24-hour projects as well as medium support and transitional housing units to ensure that our properties are safe, secure, and welcoming through the night. You will be based at the Horsham Y Centre and will support the static night worker there during the night as well as undertaking your mobile duties.

Working on site you will be responsible for ensuring the service is safe by keeping clear records of night time activity within the building. You will regularly complete building checks and monitor CCTV upkeeping health and safety regulations in accordance with YMCA DLG's policies and procedures.  You will work to prevent any anti-social behaviour from impacting our neighbours and other residents. You will work alongside other support staff to maximise the wellbeing of residents by completing one to one interventions with young people who may be experiencing mental health crisis and/or who may need medical assistance.

This is a mobile role, requiring all applicants to have a full valid, UK Driving Licence. You will also be lone working as part of the role, so you will need to be comfortable with decision making and following procedures.

Ideally you will have experience working with young people, those considered vulnerable or with multiple and complex needs along with being able to demonstrate a real passion for wanting to work with young people. In addition, you will have the ability to de-escalate volatile situations and manage challenging behaviour appropriately.

The AFRUCA Child Protection Family Support Service sits within AFRUCA as one of our most impactful programmes targeting families from a range of ethnic backgrounds across England and Wales. The service works closely with local authorities children’s services in cases involving families on child protection plans or in court proceedings. We provide direct one to one training and support for parents to aid their ability to provide appropriate parenting and ensure a safer, happier home environment for their children.

The AFRUCA Child Protection Service currently has a team of five qualified social workers and supports over 50 families each year. We also provide a therapeutic service where children are being reunified with their parents. We are establishing a child protection legal drop in service for families in contact with children’s services and an advocacy service for parents in the child protection system.

Most of our families are referred by local authorities children’s services as a result of cultural and religious practices which are deemed harmful to children’s well-being. We offer qualified social workers who do not wish to work in the statutory sector with an alternative approach to practising social work where empathy, kindness and support is key to our work with families. Our ultimate aim is a reduction of children in Black and Ethnic communities going into or remaining in foster care. We offer a non oppressive and non judgemental service that helps to promote the well-being of children in safe families.

We are looking to attract a qualified social worker who supports our ethos and is willing to contribute to our work with families to protect more children in our communities.

The role is open to applicants based on London Hackney or Manchester. The role will include office and remote working as well as allocated work for home arrangements.

• Barnardo's Wellbeing Service – emotional wellbeing support for children and young people aged 9 to 17 years

As part of the Transition Training Flat Service you will undertake direct, planned and structured one to one and group sessions with young people. Working toward distinct outcomes you will support young people to reach their person-centred goals in a trauma-informed way.

Key elements of the service include:

• Group work promoting independent living skills to young people in preparation for their ‘move on' housing options. This will include delivering accredited Independent Living Skills programmes, facilitating visits to accommodation providers, as well as providing opportunities to develop practical skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning and bill paying in a home environment
• Support for those at risk of homelessness or those at risk of placement breakdown, for young people aged 16+. This is targeted one-to-one support for those young people who may be experiencing instability in their accommodation or placement.
• This service will provide young people aged 16+ with an independent living experience in order for them to better understand their accommodation needs and options. Intensive individual support will be provided to those young people accessing the training flats (includes evening and weekend working).

What does the Job Role involve?

Your duties will include:

• This service provides support to young people from 9am until 8pm Monday to Friday and from 10am until 6pm on weekends.
• The service requires flexibility of work as we support young people around their needs. This means rota working including the evenings and weekends.
• Working with young people and professionals to develop agreed support plans.
• Delivering accredited group work programmes in the areas of Independent living and tenancy readiness.
• Visiting and supporting service users in their placements providing support to young people and their carers.
• Visitingyoung people accessing the training flats on a regular, planned basis. Undertaking entry/exit tasks, safety and welfare checks as well as responding to emergencies and crises that may arise within service hours.
• Supporting young people to ensure they are aware of their accommodation options and entitlements in readiness for move on. This will include assisting young people to complete benefit applications, offering support through appeals as well as supporting service administrators with the monitoring of data.
• Supporting young people to integrate into their communities and to encourage participation in community events and activities.
• Tracking a young person's support journey through the use of outcomes scoring. To discuss, score and record outcomes, implementing a young person-centred approach.

You will have (essential criteria):

• Knowledge of the issues affecting young people particularly those who have been ‘looked after', are care leavers, or are homeless/threatened with homelessness.
• Experience of direct work with young people in a relevant setting.
• Experience of creating tailored support plans with young people and demonstrating the positive outcomes achieved.
• Experience of delivering group based sessions such as issue-based workshops and independent living skills programmes.
• Experience of managing a workload and prioritising competing demands
• The ability to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post.

Additional Information:

Although this contract has a fixed term status currently until 31st March 2025 funding is awarded annually and we are waiting to find out if funding will continue past this date. Should continuation funding be received, the post will be extended to 11th July 2025.

We are looking for a full-time Shelter Coordinator to join our small and friendly team to lead the successful delivery of our shelter operations for the 2024-25 winter season. 

C4WS Homeless Project provides support to those experiencing homelessness throughout the year via a well-established winter night shelter in Camden, a lunchtime club, Jobs Club, hosting scheme, mentoring scheme and various other activities. We are passionate about helping people rebuild their lives after homelessness and working towards living independently. 
 
Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for coordinating the practical and day-to-day running of our shelters, which will involve: 

• Ensuring each shelter has enough trained volunteers to safely operate
• Ensuring each shelter has all the practical equipment and resources needed 
• Liaising with and supporting church volunteer teams 
• Being the main staff presence at shelter shifts 
• Responsible for managing our weekly Friday Club drop in 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with people who are experiencing homelessness or other similarly disadvantaged groups, an efficient and practical approach, warm and friendly nature, and a can-do attitude.
 
The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly whilst the shelter is operating. YMCA DownsLink Group Dialogue Therapeutic & Family Services offers counselling services for children and young people with physical disabilities, behavioural, social, and emotional difficulties, autism and learning difficulties. The team delivers a multi-modality therapeutic service working with children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. We are looking for a Wellbeing Play Therapist to provide 1-1 and group play therapy sessions, triage and assessments, counselling treatment and group work support for children and young people aged 4 - 12. The role is integrated within the Children and Young People Wellbeing Service and the post holder will be required to work with the Counselling Leads, Team Manager, and triage team to support children/young people accessing provision within the emotional well-being and mental health pathways.

A Health Trainer, specialising in Substance Misuse is required to work on a rolling contract for one of the UKs leading Drug and Alcohol Charities.

This role is 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

· Identify and engage with individuals from agreed target groups providing information to individuals about the relationship between behaviours and health, and promoting improvement in their health and wellbeing.

· Support and motivate individuals, to identify their health needs and assess the barriers that prevent them from making healthy choices, assisting individuals to learn in learning how to make better health choices and support them in initiating and sustaining appropriate behavioural changes.

· Deliver outstanding client care, demonstrating empathy, understanding, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering a quality service.

· Keep abreast of the holistic range of services available in the community by developing links with service providers and keeping up-to-date with service changes and developments, in order to appropriately signpost individuals to the service then need when they need them

· Get involved with running events at the service for the different initiatives they provide, this can include speaking to clients at these events, as well as being involved in promoting them through creating posters, leaflets etc.

Experience Required:

· Experience of working with clients with substance misuse, eg. homelessness, drug and alcohol, housing

· Working with and engaging individuals and groups of adults

· Experience of actively engaging with local communities

· Experience of using Microsoft programmes (Word and Excel)

Key Responsibilities 

• Building and maintaining excellent relationships with team leads across the organisation to raise awareness of security and work through issues
• Deputising for the Director in security matters as required
• Operation of the ISMS and Data Protection processes

Person Specification

Essential

• Experience of risk management
• Working knowledge of security standards and frameworks, particularly ISO 27001
• Knowledge (and preferably experience) of GDPR and DPA 2018
• Experience of incident management
• Excellent knowledge of high level security concepts and best practice
• Excellent documentation skills, including policies and standards
• Knowledge of the following areas (deeper experience of one or more preferred):

The role will take responsibility for the administration and maintenance of the incident and investigation system (RIVO) and will liaise with the Safeguarding Manager on making sure all required actions are followed up. The role also will lead on the administration of the Quality Management System (QMS) and following up on any actions which follow Quality Audits across services. The role will also have responsibility for following up on non-conformance across the different systems, and produce regular reports with available data.

What you'll do:

Assist with the management of the Look Ahead Health & Safety risk register and annual action plan.
Assist with occasional health and safety and quality audits to gain experience of operations in the field.
Champion the Health & Safety and Safeguarding departments intranet page and document control
Champion the RIVO system, ensuring incidents are reported correctly and manage the follow up actions.
Identify internal themes, trends and good practice emerging from incidents, quality reports and health and safety alerts
Manage the mailboxes across the teams, including H&S, Safeguarding and Quality, responding to any email queries and register this information for further investigation.
Support the processes Look Ahead needs to meet its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
Assist the Senior Health & Safety Manager in co-ordinating the administration and development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures.
Analyse and collate the results of Quality visits across the organisation, monitoring the return of improvement plans and self audits.
