Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the charity, including payroll, pension, banking, purchase and sales ledgers across multiple organisations
- Lead on good practice, implementing effective working methods, checks and controls to improve efficiency of processing across all finance activities
- Adapt and progress working methods to cover all aspects of the Charitable activity – Education, Commissioned services, OEC short courses. Considering the varied nature of clients, suppliers and staff for every activity
- Implement revised processes to cover site development – Project Learnhive
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management accounts, cash flow and performance reports for the CEO, Board of Trustees, and external stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to internal charity controls on authorisation for revenue and capital spending.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including timely submission of annual reports, HMRC filings, Pension compliance, Education Funding Agency and adherence to charity accounting standard requirements (SORP)
- Develop and manage financial policies and procedures to ensure robust internal controls are in place
- Lead on the preparation of annual operating budgets, and half yearly reforecasting – including student funding, staff modelling and expense allocation. Advise the senior leadership team on budgetary management and resource allocation.
Audit & Compliance
- Act as the main point of contact for the external auditors, payroll, pension and insurance contacts.
- Manage the annual audit process, ensuring any audit recommendations are implemented
- Ensure the charity adheres to legal financial obligations, including tax compliance, gift aid, and statutory reporting requirements
- Regularly review and update risk management frameworks related to financial activities
- Conduct internal audits and evaluations to identify areas for financial improvement.
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO, Board of Trustees, and senior management, contributing to long-term financial planning
- Identify opportunities for supported funding through DFE, LA and donor organisations
- Develop financial models and forecasts to support improved management reporting of operational activities, fundraising events, project proposals, and grant applications
- Implement effective processing and controls for Project Learn Hive to monitor and control revenue, expenditure and cashflow timings
- Monitor the financial performance of projects and programs, ensuring funds are matched to contracted and donor requirements
- Lead on the preparation of financial reports for grant funders and support grant management
- Lead the charity's investment and reserves policy, working with the Board of Trustees to ensure sustainability.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage a small team of finance staff, both office-based and remote, ensuring they are supported, trained, and aligned with the charity's financial goals
- Oversee the recruitment, development, and performance management of the finance team, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment he preparation of financial reports for grant funders and support grant management
- Lead the charity's investment and reserves policy, working with the Board of Trustees to ensure sustainability.
- Ensure effective communication within the team and with other departments to promote financial literacy and understanding throughout the organisation
- Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team workflows to ensure deadlines and key deliverables are met.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, and reporting models ensuring they are fit for purpose and support efficient operations
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting tools to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and transparency
- Ensure the charity's finance function remains agile and adaptable to new challenges and opportunities.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Work closely with other departments, including fundraising, programs, and operations, to ensure financial information is integrated and aligned with the charity's overall objectives
- Collaborate with external partners, including auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies, ensuring all rofessional management of all relationships.
- This role is crucial to ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the charity, supporting the achievement of its mission through sound financial management and strategic planning.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in financial management, ideally within the charity, SME, Education or not-for-profit sector.
- Strong understanding of charity accounting standards (SORP) and regulatory frameworks relevant to the charity sector.
- Proven experience in budget management, forecasting, and financial reporting at a strategic level.
- Strong leadership and management skills with experience of managing teams across multiple locations.
- Experience managing external audits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, with an aptitude for process improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Ability to work with Sage and be competent in Excel, MS Office, Teams and other packages.
Desirable:

What we’re looking for:
- Someone who will support the success of the Regional Fundraising team by coordinating programmes of work, projects and ways of working to create better collaboration and consistency across the team, enabling us to meet our team objectives of securing sustainable income.

In this key role you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Negotiating Officer to manage and support our stewards, safety and equality representative networks across West Midlands and part of Cheshire, advising them in providing individual and collective industrial relations support to members, working both in and outside of the NHS.
You will work in collaboration with other health trade unions across the region.
You will work with the CSP regional team to recruit and organise members, influence on local workforce issues and promote physiotherapy.
You will provide representation for members at disciplinary hearings, grievances and disputes with employers, and provide general advice and information to representatives and members on issues such as pay, terms and conditions, and employment legislation.
With significant trade union experience at a senior level, and an understanding of NHS structures and government policy on health, you will have excellent communication, negotiation, training and presentational skills, combined with a strong collaborative approach and a thorough understanding of, and commitment to, equality and diversity principles and the ability to put them into practice.

Role Requirements
- Working alongside the Head of Public Fundraising, you will strengthen and implement business planning, pipeline and budgeting processes as well as devise comprehensive audience-led stewardship plans, maintaining momentum and focus to achieve targets.
- Lead the implementation and delivery of the strategy for the Events and Partnerships teams and work with the Head of Public Fundraising and the teams to develop and review strategies to maximise income from events and partnerships
- Manage partnership pipeline including building opportunities with new businesses to increase the range, value and number of partnerships for The Children’s Trust
- Lead the Events team to review and overhaul our current events programme so that we are maximising net income and ROI as well as meeting the needs of our supporters and local community, and building connections and long-term relationships with our events supporters
- Work across the Retail, Fundraising and Communications directorate to maximise opportunities for contact mapping, cross-sell and support the activity of other teams within the directorate (including but not limited to stock donations, sponsorship of committee-led events, pro bono support, gifts in kind etc.)
- Be responsible for the implementation of the budgets and delivery of income and expenditure against the plans
- Bring the Events and Partnerships teams together to ensure that we are seizing opportunities to integrate the programmes, for instance through corporate sponsorships of events, employee volunteering or participation, donated goods for raffles and auctions, match funding and more
- Develop relationships with colleagues across the Public Fundraising Team, wider directorate and organisation to ensure that opportunities for engagement, integration and promotion of events and partnerships are maximised and publicised

Since 2018, Connect: North Korea (CNK) has grown from a small community start-up into an effective and impactful organisation with an annual income of approaching £500,000, mainly through grants from Trusts and Foundations. As our new Head of Individual Giving, you will be responsible for growing our income from our individual and corporate base to help us reach more vulnerable members of our community. Strategy:

Report quarterly on progress. Use online analytics, social media insights and other metrics to help us learn, improve and grow our income from low, mid,major donors and corporate supporters.
Annual Corporate and Individual Giving Programmes:

Develop and deliver CNK corporate and individual giving fundraising programme of events, campaigns and appeals to raise £100,000 in 2025.

Work closely with CEO and CNK team members to craft information into compelling copy, asks, supporter updates, social media content and personalised campaign appeals.

Plan and deliver low and mid level individual giving campaigns to cultivate new donors, convert existing supporters from once off donations to regular givers and inspire donors to increase their current support.

Design and deliver our annual major donor giving programme. Cultivate, communicate and inspire new major donors to join us with the aim of increasing our current major donor pool by 10%. Steward current donors, keep in touch, craft compelling asks to support their progression towards more frequent or higher-value donations.

Report monthly to the CEO on the success of campaigns and programming, income raised, number of new supporters/followers, conversion rates, offering insight on ROI, learnings and how we will incorporate this learning to improve how we do things in future.
Fundraising compliance:

Save all profiles, donations, giving history, gift aid agreements, correspondence, and communications with supporters on CNK CRM database. Uphold GDPR and comply with fundraising best practice.
US Individual Giving Programme:

Contribute towards developing a new US individual giving portfolio through prospect research and crafting compelling fundraising asks.
Staff & Volunteer Management:

Create and manage a volunteer fundraising programme to grow individual giving through community events, social media and awareness raising.

Essential skills and experience:
You will have at least five, ideally eight, years experience of:

Job Purpose
The Community Engagement Officer will work as a core part of our Service Delivery team. The role will lead work to coordinate and deliver community-based activities, using evidence-based approaches, to support early diagnosis of germ cell cancer. They will engage younger adults face-to-face (through a variety of methods including training, awareness raising and outreach activities) to provide information on germ cell cancers, cancer prevention, self-examinations, and early signs and symptoms.
Key Responsibilities
- To build a deeper and more localised understanding of the population in their region and develop effective approaches to engage communities of younger adults who may be underserved by cancer education in order to break down barriers to early presentation.
- To deliver key cancer-related health messages through a variety of methods, for example providing cancer education and awareness presentations to community groups, community talks and delivery of awareness-raising activities.
- To support other public health initiatives and cancer awareness outreach activities across their region.
- To develop awareness of signs and symptoms of germ cell cancers amongst young adults and encourage people to seek earlier medical intervention.
- To support recruitment of Survivor Ambassador Volunteers and support them to be involved with cancer awareness activity where appropriate.

Marketing Assistant is a new post at Open Clasp which will work closely with our producing team to deliver marketing campaign plans for our productions, community events & training programmes. They will schedule social media content, support in the creation of written, film & audio content for our audiences and monitor our website and social media analytics.

Founded in 1998, Open Clasp is part of the National Portfolio of Organisations funded by Arts Council England. We take a special interest in women and girls from the North, shining a light on their experiences through our work. We make space for debate, encouraging our audiences to walk in the shoes of women excluded from society and the arts to address gender injustice.
Our transmedia approach shapes the work of researchers and leading policy experts. We contribute to regional and national discourse, performing Key Change at the Houses of Parliament in 2016 contributing to the Prison Safety and Reform White Paper, Lasagna was used in evidence as part of the Ministry of Justice Family Law Inquiry 2020 which recommended a root and branch overhaul and Rupture is the result of the Parental Rights in Prison partnership with NEPACS and Durham University. In 2021 during the pandemic, our play ‘Sugar’ was commissioned for BBC iPlayer and was programmed on Way Out TV directly into 54k prison cells.

About you
You will be passionate about campaigning for gender justice and building the power of women and girls for social & cultural change. You will have experience of marketing and PR, and an interest in working within the charity sector. We are a fast-paced company so you will need to have strong listening skills, an eagerness to learn and an open mind to develop and share ideas as part of a collaborative team. You will have a passion for the arts and its ability to bring about positive changes in people’s lives.
Our work involves creating spaces for women, inclusive of trans women, to be creative, to talk and discuss. To apply for this role you must be a woman. We’re recruiting an Assistant Manager – Client Services to oversee the smooth operational delivery for our client journeys across our rehoming services at our rehoming, advice and behaviour unit in Sheffield. You will help us ensure the right pet is placed in the right service, in the quickest amount of time and our clients, pets and people, receive excellent care throughout the admission and adoption stages of the rehoming process.

Our proactive team is dedicated to assisting the local community in various ways, from helping people and pets in need through our food bank to providing rehoming services for a wide range of pets. Without cattery or kennel facilities, we must be innovative as a team to ensure we can address the most urgent cases.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Blue Cross as the Assistant Manager – Client Services, where you'll lead a dynamic team committed to providing exceptional client care. You'll make informed decisions that prioritise pet welfare and deliver outstanding rehoming services.
In this role, you'll actively enhance our clients' experiences, ensuring every interaction is positive, efficient, and upholds our high standards. You’ll play a key part in helping the centre meet its targets for pet-related income, adopter and admitter satisfaction, and supporter engagement.
You’ll also take charge of client service reporting, collaborating closely with the centre’s senior leadership team to understand pet throughflow and client journey satisfaction. This insight will empower you to identify, create, and implement continuous improvements. Additionally, you’ll be involved in the admission and adoption processes, managing enquiries from the public wishing to relinquish pets, prioritising admissions, promoting pets in care, and facilitating successful adoptions.
As the Assistant Manager for Client Services, you’ll ensure that outstanding customer service is at the heart of every interaction. You’ll help create welcoming and engaging public areas, ensuring the administration of admission and adoption processes adheres to internal protocols and regulations, including GDPR.
This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week on a rota that includes weekends and bank holidays.
About you
You have a deep understanding of the processes and stages involved in admitting and matching pets with their new owners. Your passion for exceptional client service, coupled with strong analytical skills, allows you to rigorously monitor, assess, and evaluate to drive meaningful improvements.
As a positive and innovative manager, you know how to inspire and motivate your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You’ll lead a team of Pet Welfare Assistants, empowering them through effective management and coaching to reach their full potential.
With excellent communication skills, you adapt your approach to resonate with different audiences. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, staying calm and organised while juggling multiple tasks and making sound decisions under pressure.
Having worked in emotionally charged settings, you understand the importance of resilience and possess excellent “bounce-back ability.” Your emotional intelligence and empathy enable you to support both your team and members of the public, creating a compassionate and effective workplace.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
- Experience of working in a rescue welfare environment.
- Significant experience of managing a team.
- Experience in delivering high level client service.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
- High standard of verbal and written communication.
- Proven decision-making ability.
- Current full driving licence.
- The ability to demonstrate, understand and apply our Blue Cross Values
It would be great (but not essential) if you also had:
- Performance management and improvement experience.
- Understanding of safeguarding issues.
