As Director of Impact, Digital & Data, you will work with colleagues at all levels and with our Board, leading on data maturity, providing insights, fostering a culture of innovation through our theory of change and influencing strategic decision making to ensure we deliver the greatest impact. Along with our Head of Insights & Impact and Head of Digital & Design, you will push the boundaries of our use of data and AI across the organisation, using analytics and automation to design better tailored products and deliver greater impact for people facing financial uncertainty. About You

We are looking for experienced leaders with deep knowledge and expertise in the areas of digital innovation (including the adoption of AI), data & insights and strategy development. We are not necessarily looking for someone with direct experience across all these areas, and while knowledge of issues relating to financial insecurity is useful, we are also not looking for someone with a particular CV or sector background. We know that Turn2us will benefit from leaders with new perspectives and ways of thinking, so we’re actively encouraging broad interest from impactful leaders who bring transferable skills from a wide range of backgrounds. But an ability and curiosity to learn is key, as is the confidence to acknowledge the things that you don’t know.

This role requires persuasive leadership and exceptional relationship building skills within a matrix environment, and so a good level of emotional intelligence is important. You will be at your most comfortable working collaboratively and selflessly as part of a Leadership Team and able to embed yourself and your team across an organisation’s work in a way that is viewed as supportive and constructive rather than over stepping.

About the role:

This role is based at our National Contact Centre in Cardiff.

As a Helpline Adviser you will be: -

• Able to respond to victims of and those affected by crime by providing support, information and referral on to Victim Support services and other agencies
• Providing immediate support, advice and trauma first aid referrals to victims of and those affected by major incidents and terrorism.
• Seamlessly working across multiple services with different processes, procedures and recording mechanisms.
• Managing and responding appropriately to competing priorities, services and needs.
• Responsible for taking disclosures and responding appropriately by either escalating the safeguarding concern to the 'Designated Safeguarding Officer' or to respond immediately to life threatening situations.

You will need:

• Experience of working in challenging and changing environments with the emphasis on excellence in service delivery.

This role is based in St Asaph North Wales

As a Victim Help Officer you will be:

You will be working in liaison with North Wales Police and other relevant agencies, and involves shift working on a rota basis between 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 5pm on a Saturday. Ensuring the provision of individual assessment of impact and risk, within the framework of VS's Service Model.

Support will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users. In order to:

• support those affected by crime in understanding and asserting their rights and entitlements
• in understanding their journey through the criminal justice and legal systems including the Victims Code of Practice
• facilitating access additional services
• establish healthy coping mechanisms
• provide practical support and information

To provide high quality support to all victims and witnesses of crime, leading on completing initial impact and risk assessments that are comprehensive and holistic. Providing immediate and short term intervention via telephone to anyone impacted by crime.

The Organisation
Action on Disability (AoD), founded in 1979, is one of London’s leading Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisations. AoD provides five key services. These are: Youth, Employment, Welfare Benefits, Independent Living and Advocacy

AoD’s Independent Living Service
The Independent Living Service (Direct Payments) is a new service that will provide support to Direct Payment users within the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The service will enable Disabled people to have genuine choice and control over the way in which they lead their lives. The post-holder will be working alongside disabled people to enable them to have more choice and control over their care and support needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a vibrant, user-led charity that is dedicated to enabling Disabled people who use social care support to have full choice and control over the way in which they live their lives.

About the Role 
In this role you will be providing essential information, advice and support to individuals from diverse backgrounds. You will work with Disabled clients to empower them to take control of the support they need by using Direct Payments, employing their own staff and accessing activities or services. You will ensure that individuals have the right information to make informed choices and will help them to set up and manage their chosen support.

You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Experience of budgeting and recruitment are essential for this role.

Experience of working in social care is not essential as training will be provided, however a “can-do” attitude, a commitment to a person-centred approach and a willingness to learn is a must. Being part of a small team, there is a lot of opportunity for you to develop and learn new skills.

The work is varied and calls upon a wide range of skills, and there is huge job satisfaction in supporting people to achieve greater wellbeing and independence.

As an IDVA, you will be able to effectively work with men experiencing domestic abuse, and supporting them to increase their safety and reduce harm. You will be providing high-quality, front-line service to prioritise risk, primarily focusing on males aged 18+.

You will initiate, develop, maintain and monitor multi-agency links through attending meetings such as MARAC and DA (Domestic Abuse) Forums to keep safety central to all services for men suffering/have suffered domestic abuse. You will specialise and be a leading practitioner for Male victims of domestic abuse; providing advice, guidance and single point of contact for male victims. Be willing to co-facilitate workshops across the service to ensure all clients are given the relevant advice in a timely manner.

You will be confident in your DVPO, DAPO, Occupational, restraining and Non-Molestation order knowledge. Be competent in completing the following forms-  DASH (Domestic abuse, Stalking and ‘honour’ based abuse), UPOA (Understanding Picture of abuse), UPOAP (Understanding Picture of a Perpetrator) and safety plans.

Focus on and prioritise high, medium and low risk cases and provide a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service, through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support. Work with victims of domestic abuse to assist them in accessing services to keep them and their children safe.

Understand the legal framework relating to the protection of children and vulnerable adults, including the policy and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board. Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance.

Support clients through the family and/or criminal justice system.

Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service including producing statistics, as required.

Comply with data protection legislation, confidentiality and information sharing policy and procedures, as well as all legislation connected to your work. Remain up-to-date and comply with organisational procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct - uphold standards of best practice.

We are looking for a competent employability coach to support women who have experienced domestic abuse and are at risk of offending to gain employment skills and work experience. You will work with clients who want guidance for career development and need assistance in functioning in a workplace.

The clients will be young women offenders affected by domestic abuse and your role is to offer sustainable employability pathways that supports access to employment and training opportunities, creating positive distractions to reduce risks of re-offending or re-entering harmful relationships in the future.

A job coach must be a mentor, eager to support their clients You must be able to discover people’s strengths and weaknesses and tell them what works best for them. Having communication skills partnered with critical thinking are requisites for this job.

Coach responsibilities include:

· To assist clients to discover and overcome their personal barriers and set goals.

· To assess the strengths of individuals and teach them to use them effectively.

· To develop effective job coaching and employability support plans with clients.

· To deliver 10-week rolling programmes of employability workshops to develop skills including confidence and motivation, CV writing, interview techniques, skill checks, digital skills and job search.

· To provide mentoring and coaching in effective job search techniques.

· To have a creative approach to engaging with participants.

· To be responsible for a caseload of participants, providing signposting and advocacy, addressing their needs and barriers to employment.  

· To work with participants on a one to one or group basis as appropriate.

· To interview participants to gain information and ascertain their requirements.

· To motivate, encourage and support participants to move towards employments and tailor a package of support to meet their individual needs.

· To assist participants to plan and progress, in line with their action plans, towards improving their life and employment chances.

· To be responsible for ensuring all Key Performance Indicators are consistently achieved.

· To meet deadlines and targets as required by the needs of the programme.

· To organise work placement experience – by matching the skills of women with business, charities, other agencies.

· Work closely with external organisations to ensure you achieve referrals onto programme.

Their main role is to provide one to one advice to clients referred through the charity’s Warm and Safe Homes helpline and to deliver energy advice presentations to groups.  They also get involved in a range of tasks to support these activities.  Energy Advisers sit within the Communities Directorate and are part of a dynamic and caring team of professionals who go the extra mile to support their clients, some of whom may be in difficult circumstances.

What you will need to succeed

Working within our Communities Directorate you will have demonstrable experience of delivering Energy Advice and helping others.  Therefore, it is vital that you have empathy, confidence and knowledge of the issues facing vulnerable low-income households.

You will have knowledge and understanding of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.

You will also have knowledge of assistance available for energy efficiency improvements to low-income households.

You will be an excellent communicator, with proven experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders – with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

The successful candidate will operate within Yorkshire and the Humber, East Midlands or Eastern region of England. Home working and office-based locations are available depending on your proximity to a NEA office. NEA’s Energy Advisers are empathetic, polite and have good listening skills but are also knowledgeable, assertive, and confident. Their main role is to provide one to one advice to clients referred through the charity’s Warm and Safe Homes helpline and to deliver energy advice presentations to groups.  They also get involved in a range of tasks to support these activities.  Energy Advisers sit within the Communities Directorate and are part of a dynamic and caring team of professionals who go the extra mile to support their clients, some of whom may be in difficult circumstances.

What you will need to succeed

Working within our Communities Directorate you will have demonstrable experience of delivering Energy Advice and helping others.  Therefore, it is vital that you have empathy, confidence and knowledge of the issues facing vulnerable low-income households.

You will have knowledge and understanding of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.

You will also have knowledge of assistance available for energy efficiency improvements to low-income households.

You will be an excellent communicator, with proven experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders – with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

We are offering:

About The Team

Helpline Plus telephone Casework team is a team of experienced specialist housing and debt advisers. We have four teams of advisers based in Shelter’s Sheffield office. We work with multiple external referral partner organisations to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Helpline Plus provides legal advice and casework to enforce the rights of homeless people and assists those facing possession action or orders for sale to remain in their homes. We negotiate with councils, lenders and landlords to try to prevent court action.

Due to the nature of the service we can provide prompt access and may take on emergency cases, in particular to people who are beyond the reach of face to face services.

This role will play a critical role in delivering and developing our UK wide Advice and Support service, ensuring it works seamlessly with our outsourced Helpline and delivers real impact for older people in or facing financial hardship. You should have experience of leading and managing a similar high volume, multi-channel remote service with demonstratable success in identifying and implementing service improvements.

The Infrastructure Team provides the technological foundation for core business functions including network access, hardware and software, printers and remote working. The Media Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing Independent Age’s media communications programme, including media and PR, social media, celebrities and stories.
