Purpose of the Role 

The Helpline Manager will manage and provide support and advice to a team of Helpline Support, Caseworkers, IDVA, and Helpline volunteers who will be handling calls. The role will also include occasionally providing helpline cover during staff shortages. The helpline supports women on more than 45 different issues with most of the calls relate to violence against women and girls (VAWG) as well as mental health and wellbeing. The Helpline Manager will be responsible in ensuring that the service continues to be culturally sensitive and be able to respond to a diverse population of women with complex needs; managing the rota for staff and volunteers, ensuring there is sufficient helpline cover, identifying and managing safeguarding issues, monitoring staff performance, maintaining the helpline database, and providing helpline data to other staff. 

The role will also include occasionally attending external stakeholder meetings and raising awareness of the helpline service. The Helpline Manager will also have some involvement in other MWNUK projects, services and activities as required. The role requires a proactive, organised and practical approach to ensure MWNUK’s projects are delivered effectively and efficiently, providing high quality support and customer service across the organisation, both internally and externally.

Main responsibilities 

• Supervising the Helpline team of 11 staff (however this is equivalent to 3 full-time staff per day only) and ensuring there is sufficient helpline cover and monitoring their wellbeing. 

• Recruiting and training helpline staff and volunteers with the support of senior management and ensuring their development needs are flagged up. 

• Monitoring performance of helpline staff through daily check-ins, debriefs, monthly supervision meetings and annual appraisals. 

• Holding regular helpline team meetings and sharing learning as well as identifying and sharing interesting cases with Senior Leadership Team including the Advocacy Officer. 

• Planning and delivering training to staff and volunteers in line with changes in law, policies and procedures, including safeguarding. 

• Regularly attending external meetings such as MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference), liaising with police, social services, and other partner agencies. These meetings are a critical part of safeguarding and time for preparation and follow-up is built into the role. 

Safeguarding 

• Implementing MWNUK Children and Adult Safeguarding policies and procedures. 

• Responding to safeguarding concerns in a timely manner and promoting good practice. 

• Identification, handling and recording of all safeguarding risks and issues for both children and adults, including in instances of domestic abuse, forced marriage, honour-based violence, sexual abuse, self-harm, isolation, housing, marriage and divorce etc. 

• Escalating and de-escalating risk, report writing and recording accurately all decision-making during case reviews. 

• Having regular case reviews and making evidence-based decision-making. 

• Monitoring and evaluating safeguarding practices. 

• Liaising with external agencies as and when required. 

• Reviewing helpline cases before they are closed ensuring the data has been properly recorded. 

Managing cases 

• Triaging, managing, prioritizing and allocating helpline cases. 

• Maintenance of accurate records, online databases, filing systems and computer files and gathering of statistics as required by the Operational Director and / or CEO and external evaluating consultant. 

• Maintenance of all information in line with confidentiality and data protection policies while observing professional boundaries at all times. 

• Monitoring helpline data and identifying any trends and sharing them with senior management and the Advocacy Officer. 

• Ensuring policies and procedures are followed. 

Other duties 

• When required (i.e. when there are staff shortages) provide cover on the helpline and respond to phone calls, emails, texts, webchat and the newly launched Amal Safety Mobile App, in a faith and culturally sensitive manner. 

• Keeping up to date with helpline issues such as forced marriages, domestic violence, honour- based violence, sexual violence, female genital mutilation, mental health, discrimination and women’s rights – including assisting with projects and services on these issues. 

• Promoting the helpline’s services to a range of stakeholders. 

• The role will occasionally involve delivering training workshops and leading discussions on critical issues such as forced marriages, domestic violence, FGM, and honour-based violence, primarily with schools, colleges, and community organisations. These responsibilities will be planned in advance and integrated into the team’s schedule. 

• Carrying out duties to support the Operational Director and CEO. 

• Attending training for professional development, as required. 

• Undertaking outreach work, if required. 

Person Specification 

Professional Experience, Knowledge and Understanding 

• Strong experience of dealing with minority ethnic women particularly from Muslim communities who have suffered domestic violence and other forms of abuse such as forced marriage, honour- based violence, sexual violence, mental health issues etc. 

• Knowledge of key issues that will arise on the helpline such as domestic violence, forced marriage, honour-based violence, sexual violence, mental health, hate crime etc. 

• At least one year's experience in handling children and adult safeguarding. 

• Willingness to participate in further training and development opportunities. 

• Working in a trauma informed way by recognizing impact of trauma on women. 

• Experience of managing, supporting and supervising a small team. 

• Second language such as Arabic, Bangla, Punjabi or Urdu. 

• Excellent IT skills (Microsoft365: word processing, databases, PowerPoint, spreadsheets and Outlook). 

• Desirable line management experience.

The role will be the first point of contact with employees and third-party providers. They will provide advice and support on a number of people and culture systems, processes, IT and travel. They will undertake a variety of HR and Operations administration duties, in keeping with employment law, charity policies and procedures, to support the UK and Germany (DE) Team.   

This role with work closely with the Head of PCC & Operations to focus on: 

• The coordination of recruitment working with the UK and DE hiring managers. This includes job postings, advertisements, PCC prescreening, scheduling interviews and liaising with candidates. 

• Being responsible for managing the Diversity Monitoring process for all recruitment activities. 

• Onboarding and welcoming of new recruits; drafting contracts, setting up profiles on BambooHR, ensuring the process is completed in a timely and welcoming way.

• Liaise with hiring manager on the new persons induction, set up meetings and have an onboarding pack ready to send and be completed. Follow up on key documentation and policies have been read and signed. 

• HR operation projects and initiatives, induction, probation, sick leave, staff development, employee administration, policies and procedures, compliance monitoring and offboarding. 

• The maintenance of all HR operations electronic systems in the UK and Germany to ensure all information is updated and accurate, and staff understand how to use the system. 

• Take minutes of meetings as and when required, meeting the deadline in sending out the minutes.   

The role will also focus on office management of the UK Head Office, this includes office maintenance issues, Health & Safety Compliance matters and other relevant areas requiring support as required. Liaising with our IT support team on maintenance of laptops and setting them up for new staff. Be the point of contact for staff office resources, supplies and equipment requirements. 

Has excellent communication skills, including written and verbal to engage with employees and third-party providers. Is proficient in using HRIS software to manage employee data and produce reports. We are looking for someone to join the team who has the ability to identify issues and problem solve, be creative and can build and manage successful relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Previous charity sector experience and someone who can speak German (both verbal and written) is desirable.

About the Role

• The London Hotel is a bespoke and time limited housing project, with 16 en-suite rooms, delivered by Westminster City Council and The Connection at St Martins. The accommodation is run from a hotel in Paddington, that has a staff office and a key work room.
• The aim of the service is to deliver a wrap-around support offer to entrenched rough sleepers, with multiple unmet needs, and who would otherwise struggle to access accommodation. The expectation put on those moving into the service is that they will be given a period of time to stabilise with health and wellbeing input and will then work towards a longer-term accommodation offer with us.
• The service provides food daily, as well as toiletries and offers other areas of support (aside from health and accommodation move on) around financial inclusion, substance dependency, obtaining ID and navigating criminal justice involvement.
• In this role, you will provide direct support to the residents of the hotel generally, as well as holding a small case load of residents who you will keywork.
• You will work closely with external partners to develop support networks around the residents and will make referrals into the relevant services. Alongside this you might need to accompany people off-site to appointments and coordinate the network around them to meet their needs. You will also need to facilitate external partners accessing the site, so they can provide support to residents.  
• Your focus when working with people will be to support them to develop a move on plan, so they can move from the hotel, into longer term accommodation. This is alongside the day to day running of the service as well as facilitating the maintenance of a trauma informed environment and dynamically responding to people’s needs.
• This is a fixed term role until 31st March 2026

Job Purpose

As Project Manager for the BSR registers you will ensure the continued success of BSR’s biologics and biosimilars registers and support BSR’s Registers and Research Committee. This role requires someone who is highly organised with a keen eye for detail, strong financial and commercial acumen, and the ability to develop relationships with stakeholders from across a range of different sectors.

About the BSR registers: The BSR registers are a vital source of rheumatology data, which we encourage the rheumatology community to access and analyse for research purposes. BSR’s three active patient registers covering rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis are open for recruitment. Our ankylosing spondylitis register, although closed for recruitment, is available to access for academic research and is contributing data to research questions coming out of the EuroSpA research collaboration.

Main Responsibilities

Management of the BSR registers

• Hold overall responsibility for management of the BSR registers including all legal, contractual and financial matters
• Work with BSR’s delivery partners and registers funders to ensure that contracts, protocols and other agreements are implemented, upheld and administered effectively
• With support from the Head of Publishing and Director of Practice and Quality, negotiate, agree and manage contractual agreements with partners and funders
• Proactively and diplomatically manage contractual and legal risks and issues as they arise
• Ensure the rights and obligations of the BSR (including intellectual property rights and patients’ data protection rights) are upheld and met
• Monitor emerging issues and changes to policy and regulatory frameworks that impact BSR registers, ensuring that colleagues and partners receive timely updates and that BSR responds promptly, ethically, and transparently

Relationship Management and Communications

• Develop and maintain strong and productive relationships with BSR’s delivery partners and funders
• Support the delivery partners to maximise recruitment to the BSR registers
• Oversee and facilitate communications about the registers between BSR, partners, funders and stakeholders
• Develop relationships with relevant stakeholders, including regulatory and oversight bodies
• Collaborate with BSR’s communications team to drive registers awareness and engagement and develop content for social media, website and member communications

The role of Helpline Advisor

For several years, Guts UK have provided information, support and guidance to our community over the phone and by email. This year, we’re formalising that service into a professional Helpline and are looking for someone to join our small, talented support team.

During the initial 6-month trial period, the Helpline phone lines will be open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, but this may expand or change later in the year. Queries could be received via phone, email or web-query form.

​As a member of the Helpline team, you will offer on demand information, support, guidance and signposting primarily to enquirers living with, or caring for those with, digestive conditions and symptoms. The support offered will include receiving calls, emails and web form queries from people who are looking for more information about their digestive condition, need to know where they can turn to for support, or are waiting on a diagnosis and need help navigating how to get there. You will provide appropriate information, guidance and signposting to our own information and other external support organisations. As a charity, Guts UK covers all digestive symptoms and conditions, across the whole of the UK, and so no two days will be the same and queries will be diverse and interesting.

The role holder will man the Helpline (alongside others from the team) from 10am to 2pm (with a 30-minute lunch break) and during that time will receive, respond to and appropriately log phone calls, web-queries and emails.

The Helpline team have a secure office space in our Huddersfield based office in which they can handle confidential calls and information. This is supported by hybrid working, with team members able to work from home as well.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Counselling Coordinator to work across the Greater Manchester footprint, working specifically with women. The post-holder will work alongside the Counselling & Psychotherapy Manager to support with the assessment and allocation of women for the appropriate therapeutic intervention. You will play an integral role in supporting and developing our service model, including recruitment, development and line management of volunteer and trainee therapists.

The post-holder will be part of our multi-disciplinary team and will work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. You will work alongside the team to ensure safe and effective delivery of therapeutic interventions across the Greater Manchester Women’s Support Alliance. You will be required to form strong working relationships with our partner agencies and local training establishments to ensure that our excellent reputation is further enhanced.

Our mission is to help people manage their money effectively, and our independent, confidential and flexible approach is tailored to individuals’ needs, allowing us to reach those who find it most difficult to access advice. You will be joining a large team of Money Advisers providing specialist level debt and benefit advice and casework. 

We have 2 posts available - 1 based in our Brighton and Hove office, and the second either based in our office, but fully remote working possible.  For both posts you will have lots of variety, providing telephone specialist debt and benefit advice and casework across a range of projects.  If you are based in our office you will also deliver face-to-face advice both in the office and other outreach locations including Foodbanks and with inpatients.

Ideally you will hold a qualification in Money Advice, obtained either through the Institute of Money Advisers or the Money and Pensions Service.  If you do not have a qualification, you must be prepared to work towards obtaining this, included some study in your own time. You will have excellent communication and digital skills, be comfortable delivering advice in person and by phone, and be able to plan and organise your work effectively.

Job Title: Service Manager

Hours: 37.5 hours per week with a requirement to particiapte in the out of hours on-call on a rota basis

We are recruiting for a Service Manager who is passionate about supporting survivors who are impacted by domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes. This is a multifaceted, fast paced, and exciting role where you will join our team in Derby to lead on the delivery and development of high-quality refuge and outreach services for survivors of domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes. 

The post holder will provide line management and high-quality support to the direct reports in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures. This will include providing supervision on complex and high-risk cases, overseeing operational emergencies, and ensuring high standards of casework. The Service Manager will lead on the delivery of the multiagency aspect of work, working jointly with the Refuge teams and wider stakeholders to deliver best services to the survivors. 

Candidates must have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to vulnerable people, managing, and motivating staff, managing casework as well as working within multiagency setting.  In addition, you must have an excellent knowledge of domestic abuse and other gender-based violence and its impact on survivors.  You will have knowledge of relevant Criminal and Civil law legislation, as well as Housing and Health and Safety legislation.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota. Please note that this is an on-site role.
