We're looking to recruit a part-time Partnerships Coordinator. If you have a background in fundraising, strong written and verbal communication skills, enjoy building and maintaining relationships, and have a passion for migrant and sanctuary seeker rights, this might be your next job! 

Responsibilities:

The Partnerships Coordinator will work closely with the Partnerships & Communications Lead and share some responsibilities. You duties will include: 

• Grant Writing: Write compelling grant applications, funding proposals, and update reports to secure funding from various sources, including trusts, liveries, and corporate foundations.

• Research: Identify and research a pipeline of realistic funding opportunities. 

• Donor Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing donors and prospects, ensuring their continued support and engagement with EFA's work.

• Fundraising Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of EFA's fundraising strategy. Support on diversifying our income streams, focusing on other areas of fundraising such as statutory, corporate giving, individual giving, membership, and events. 

• Collaboration: Liaise closely with the Partnerships and Communications Lead, Hub Leads and Project Managers to plan and develop strong funding proposals that align with EFA's strategic objectives. 

• Database Management: Maintain accurate records of donors, grants, and funding opportunities on Donorfy. Communicate effectively with the finance team.

• Monitoring and Evaluation: Help to monitor and evaluate the outputs and outcomes of our projects, and maintain accurate records of grant conditions.

About EFA

English for Action provides free, participatory, and empowering English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)  classes for migrants in London. Our classes are spaces to build community and support students to organise collectively around issues like employment and housing rights. Our work currently supports around 400 adult migrants across London. We’ve become a national centre of good practice for a radical participatory approach to ESOL, informed by the work of Paulo Freire, and we share this approach through training, research and partnerships. 

Organisation: We are a staff team of 8 people supported by a larger team of volunteers and 9 trustees. EFA promotes shared leadership and collaboration and we aim for our organisational structure to reflect this. In the last 4 years we’ve transitioned away from having a CEO to an executive team to oversee operations and decision-making. As a charity, ultimate responsibility for, and control of, the organisation lies with the Board of Trustees. 

Fundraising at EFA: We have one permanent fundraiser at EFA, who works two days per week on this area of work. The majority of EFA’s funding comes from charitable trusts and foundations but we are also funded directly by some of our partner institutions to provide courses for their members. We receive some local authority/EU funding as well. We raise additional funds through individual giving, corporate relationships and earned income. We are keen to explore new areas of fundraising and/or develop some of our less well established income streams.

About the role

As Senior Programme Manager, you will have the opportunity to shape our work nationally as well as lead our programmes in the North West of England, enabling us to grow our reach, deepen our impact and ultimately deliver our mission. With support from your manager and in consultation with the other regional Programme Managers, you will translate our annual programme strategy into a robust cross-regional implementation plan covering both programme design and operations and make tangible improvements to enhance efficiency and impact across our regions. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our programmes are delivered as planned, to a high standard in line with best practice and cohesively across regions, and that regional objectives and targets in the North West are achieved.

The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will focus on increasing donations from individual supporters. Working closely with the Head of Development and CEO, you'll be responsible for growing donation schemes for individual supporters, stewarding major donors, delivering public fundraising appeals and promoting opportunities for supporters to make gifts in wills.

ABOUT THE ROLE

People who work in operations have a multiplier effect, increasing the efficiency of their colleagues within the organisation by constructing processes that ensure the organisation operates smoothly and at top capacity. An excellent and more succinct description of operations management as a field comes from Gabrielle Zevin’s Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow:

Though it took Sadie years to admit this to Sam, Marx did prove incredibly useful that summer. No, Marx wasn’t a game designer. He wasn’t an ace programmer, like Sadie, and he couldn’t draw, like Sam. But he did almost everything else for them, and his contributions ranged from the pedestrian, but necessary, to the creatively essential. Marx organised workflow, so Sadie and Sam were more aware of what the other was doing and what they needed to be doing. He made long lists of supplies they would need. He was more than liberal with his credit card—they always needed more memory and storage, and they were regularly burning out graphics cards—and he must have made fifty trips to the large computer store in Central Square that summer. He opened a bank account, and an LLC, Go, Ichigo, Go. The Operations team provides operational support to AIM (e.g., human resource management, finance, productivity). The team also supports our incubated charities, assisting with their initial set-up after the program so they can hit the ground running, as well as ongoing ad-hoc requests and advice as needed. Added to this, Operations supports other participants in programs run by AIM(e.g., people completing fellowships with our research team). While this is less than for the Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, it increases as these programs mature. 

Our Operations team currently consists of ~2.8 FTE – our Chief Operating Officer (previous Managing Director and CTO of Founders Pledge), our Director of Operations (with a mixed background in legal services, management consulting, and scale-up operations), and a Senior Operations Manager (with a background in risk and security management in low- and middle-income countries). The team also relies on external contractors for some of its functions (e.g., bookkeeping, legal advice).

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

EXAMPLE OF THE WORK YOU'LL BE DOING

• After an initial brief, independently organise the entire lifecycle of an event at our office expecting between ~15-50 people to attend. You would know the goal of the event, some parameters like the budget, and would have some light assistance from other staff or external partners with whom we’re co-hosting the event.

• Effectively acting as an office manager/all-rounder for AIM’s London office. This means overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure smooth functioning, including managing office supplies, coordinating with service providers and contractors, and promptly triaging and resolving issues as they arise. Additionally, it means implementing and improving office policies, such as policies around hotdesking, inviting and vetting guests, meeting room usage, etc. 

• After supporting another department with their work, you realise that a series of manual steps they take could be made much more efficient by creating an automated workflow using Airtable and Zapier. You follow a user-centred design process to collect information about requirements, must-haves and nice-to-haves and then build a prototype to later test and refine. 

• Entirely oversee our managed accommodation for staff and program participants, responding to booking requests and changes, ensuring seamless check-in and check-out procedures, and promptly responding to requests or issues. 

• Knowing AIM’s internal policies and ensuring they’re being followed. For example, reviewing expenditure at the end of the month and checking adherence to our Financial Controls Policy, touching base with staff to check whether they have a professional development plan in place.

ABOUT YOU

This role will likely suit an early to mid-level operations generalist, but we’re also very interested in hearing from more senior operations specialists as there is room for future growth in responsibilities within the organisation depending on competency and expertise. We would also be keen for talented recent graduates applying for this position as many areas of responsibility can be learned by a quick learner fairly fast.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Our application processes aim to be highly predictive, time-effective, and informative for you. Our process consists only of stages that our best evidence suggests are predictive of success on the job (such as test tasks) rather than more common but less predictive stages (such as cover letters). We only invite candidates to the next stage if we think they have a good chance of passing it, and take care to choose tasks and interview questions that will also give you a good sense of the role and our culture.

Applicants will be asked to complete the following stages:

The Marketing and Communications Director serves as part of the Senior Leadership Team of the Innovation, Income & Engagement Directorate and is responsible for the smooth running of the Marketing and Communications department and working collaboratively across the Directorate to help plan and deliver impactful campaigns.

The successful candidate will be working to help us reach more people with our services and grow the audience of people who want to support the charity with their time, money, voice, and donations. We have big ambitions to become the 'end of life' charity and more than double the number of people we help today.

You will be responsible for:
- Leading, inspiring and developing the Marketing and Communications teams to achieve a step change in our performance and exceed ambitious reach, engagement and share of voice targets.
- Fostering a culture of innovation and organisational collaboration, to drive our Marketing & Communications strategy, creating brand and PR campaigns that engage our target audiences and elevate our cause.
- Developing a long-term plan, including investment and measurement of returns, to deliver integrated and relevant content to build spontaneous awareness and brand buzz, optimising integration with fundraising.
- Working with the Marketing and Communications Heads of Department and media contacts to develop and implement PR and media programmes that will build our share of voice, grow our reputation in end-of-life care and help reposition Marie Curie as the 'end of life' charity
- Managing media queries, sometimes in high-pressure situations, maintaining the Marie Curie position with statements and Q&As and ensuring appropriate spokespeople are media trained at all times.
- Representing the Charity at the highest levels, engaging credibly, dynamically and charismatically with key stakeholders.

Key Criteria:
- Established experience working in a strategic leadership role within both marketing and PR, managing multiple and complex functions.
- Demonstrable experience of leading and shaping strategies to increase audience reach and relevance and to translate strategies into operational plans.
- Proven track record in delivering growth in media relations and/or marketing metrics.
- Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate people internally and externally.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the credibility, confidence and stature to interact with influential people at the highest levels.
- Excellent written skills with the ability to distil complex information into clear and coherent board reports and presentations.
- Experience working within the charity industry would be an advantage but is not essential.

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities

The Senior Programme Development Specialist  will work on complex and major bids, often on multimillion consortia, commercial contracts and multi-country partnerships, and will be expected to take a high degree of responsibility for developing successful bids including negotiations with internal and external partners. 

This position will drive a high-quality bidding process with institutional donors and large foundations to build a healthy and sustainable funding pipeline so that CIUK can achieve our programme goals. You will work closely with technical advisory teams, country offices, finance colleagues, and other partners in order to deliver winning bids, which showcase CARE’s programme innovation and deliver impact as well as ensuring adequate cost recovery for CIUK.

The Director of Fundraising will be responsible for leading the Fundraising Team at Concern Worldwide (UK), leading the development and delivery of an effective income generation strategy to support the wider organisation strategic plans. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, this role will be a strategic leader and champion Concern Worldwide’s commitment to ensure no one lives in poverty, fear or oppression. Role Summary

The role will support the Development team to successfully raise over £3.5 million annually through fundraising, in addition to a concurrent £19.25m capital campaign. The successful candidate will efficiently manage the day to day running of The Old Vic’s individual giving scheme, reporting to the Head of Individual Giving and working with the Individual Giving Officer to implement and carry out a yearly strategic plan to retain and increase support across all levels of Membership and wider areas of giving.

Areas of responsibility

Individual Giving

• Contribute to developing a strategic plan for individual giving including Membership, small to medium sized donations across all giving channels.
• Assume responsibility for The Old Vic’s philanthropic individual giving Membership scheme, OV Together.
• Retain and increase support by delivering excellent stewardship, including delivery of benefits and events, and communication with donors.
• Generate and convert new donor prospects in order to meet and exceed agreed annual individual giving targets of c. £1.25 million to contribute to the overall Development team target.
• Line manage the Individual Giving Officer, monitoring key performance indicators and objectives to ensure that targets are met.

Administration

• Oversee lists and draft communications going out to individual supporters including season announcements, updates and invitations and segmenting mailing lists when necessary.
• Oversee ticket bookings and catering reservations for supporters and to innovate time-saving new processes for automating bookings and reservations.
• Ensure Membership collateral is regularly updated to deadlines.
• Ensure database records are updated with donations, research notes, Memberships and event attendance.
• Monitor progress against targets, ensuring fundraising costs stay within budgeted expenditure and Gift Aid restrictions.
• Devise and with input from the Events team maintain a system for accurately logging and tracking costs incurred for delivering Membership benefits in line with HMRC and Gift Aid guidelines.
• Ensure that all data complies with procedures for data integrity (e.g. Gift Aid, GDPR and PCI compliance).
• Oversee the processing of monthly and annual Direct Debits by the Individual Giving Officer.
• Support the administration of the American Associates of The Old Vic membership.

Prospecting and New Support

• Identify new routes, channels and audiences to promote other ways of giving amongst existing Old Vic contacts, our database and new prospects.
• Innovate and implement new fundraising projects, such as Tap to Donate scheme, and creating supporting documents (e.g. case for support and rebrand of membership scheme).
• Use data analysis to track Membership trends and prospecting, with support from the Individual Giving Officer, to inform strategy and cultivation efforts for upgrading and recruitment.
• Identify opportunities to further develop relationships with our existing supporters (e.g. cross-sell) and feeding this into strategic plans for Individual Giving.
• Support the Senior Development Operations Manager on the maintenance of a team-wide prospect tracking system and help monitor the solicitation process.

General

• To ensure The Old Vic’s programmes, website and social media are regularly updated with Development information and liaise with Marketing as appropriate in achieving these tasks.
• Contribute proactively to Development team activities.
• Undertake training deemed necessary by the Development Director.
• Carry out any other duties as requested by the Development Director.
