Fundraising Lead

We’re looking for an experienced Fundraising Lead to join an important charity that exists to help Surrey’s unpaid carers, aged 5-95 to help people feel more in control of their lives and less alone.

About the role:

The Fundraising Lead will be responsible for building and maintaining corporate partnerships that increase income and diversify funding. The post holder’s primary focus will be community organisations, businesses and other bodies.

You will support the organisation to deliver services and support for unpaid carers. You will be engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and drive fundraising efforts, community engagement, gifts-in-kind, volunteer engagement and awareness raising.

Key areas of responsibility include:  

• Develop a partnership engagement strategy that raises the profile of the organisation.
• Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with community and corporate partners that support fundraising, gifts-in-kind and volunteer engagement.
• Act as the primary point of contact for community and corporate partners.
• Explore and promote opportunities for sponsorship, donations and corporate giving.
• Support fundraising events and activities undertaken by community and corporate partners, groups and individuals.
• Support the finance manager in developing and writing bids and grant applications for projects.

This new position, reporting to the Marketing Manager, requires a dynamic self-starter with excellent communication and networking skills, capable of developing relationships.

Key skills required for this role:

• Experience working in community engagement, business development, or similar roles.
• Experience in identifying, supporting and growing relationships with corporate partners and/or community groups
• Experience organising events and engagement activities.
• Knowledge of developing stakeholder engagement plans/strategies (preferably in the not-for-profit or charitable sectors).

Role Summary

ProVeg International is a global organisation made up of 12 national non-profit teams, each of which responsible for local fundraising, supported by an international fundraising team focused on major opportunities, international, and core funding.

The role of the Grant Writing Manager is to provide excellent and compelling fundraising content of all kinds, whether internal cases for support, proposals, applications or reports in order to support the goal of at least doubling our global income from around 15 to 30 million dollars in the next three years.

You will be an expert in grant writing, and have a keen eye for detail and basic financial acumen related to project funding bids. You will manage a pipeline of global trusts and foundation applications, while providing support to proposals of other kinds driven by the wider fundraising team. Ideally you would be experienced in drafting compelling narratives for complex charitable causes, ideally in climate, environment or food systems transformation.

Responsibilities

International income generation

• Together with the International Fundraising Manager and Philanthropy Director, contribute to and implement a 3-year international grants strategy, and develop annual and quarterly objectives and key results (OKRs).

• Research and prepare proposals for potential major donors, trusts and foundations, and where relevant, corporate opportunities, and coordinate international and joint bids.

• Develop a pipeline of existing and potential trusts and foundations.

• Identify and develop processes and systems to support the growth of grants income.

• Identify suitable projects within the organisation’s plan in order to build cases for support and satisfy donor wish lists.

• Develop pitch packages and stories for different audiences, in particular donors motivated by reasons other than animal protection.

Country-specific and infrastructure support 

• Contribute to the international fundraising calls, support ProVeg country directors and national fundraising teams with grant applications.

• Identify and develop processes and systems to support the growth of trust and foundation income. 

• Help build the global grant-related infrastructure, including but not limited to:

  • Guidelines/policies

  • Compliance

  • Strengthening CRM use and internal coordination

  • SOPs

  • Project impact evaluation with the Monitoring Evaluation & Learning team

  • Finance tracking with the Finance Manager

• Any other administrative or comparable support that may be required

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of experience of grant writing at a not-for-profit, preferably an international NGO.

• A track record of identifying and securing significant, and/or multi-year, five-figure+ funds from trusts, foundations and/or corporates, ideally also having obtained unrestricted (‘core’/operational) funding.

• Expertise in the development of grant application strategies and proposals (including strategic prioritisation of projects and opportunities).

• Experience with different grant-making bodies and requirements.

• Ability to turn numbers, outcomes and goals into a compelling story.

• Evidence of successful proposal writing, from start to finish, as well as experience with writing concise reports.

• Excellent project-management and organisational skills, including documentation of work, with the ability to lead and work collaboratively.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including confident demeanour and experience in engaging with a diverse range of people.

The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Midlands. Purpose of the Public Events Manager role is to:

The principle purpose of the role of Museum Public Events Manager will be to lead the development of our public events programme at their site and all aspects of its implementation. The post holder will work closely with the Head of Events and Catering to develop our Public Events strategy and how it is applied into the relevant location. This will include responsibility for all aspects of event planning, delivery and management, all key partner development and management, all audience development and evaluation and all events budgeting and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities of our Public Events Manager include:

• To work with Head of Events and Catering to develop our Public Events strategy, that articulates the long-term objectives of the programme across all Museum sites and audience groups

This is a newly created and pivotal role in The Aspinall Foundation’s small fundraising team. The Fundraising Officer will be responsible for the delivery and implementation of the charity’s key adoption fundraising programme and supporting the effective running of the Department as a whole.

Within this role, you will work closely with the Head of Fundraising to lead and manage key fundraising initiatives, including adoption programs, lottery communications, and a variety of in-person and virtual events. Responsibilities include improving donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship across multiple channels, while also supporting community fundraising and merchandise efforts.

The candidate will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to develop compelling fundraising materials and maintain strong relationships with donors and volunteers. About EFA

English for Action provides free, participatory, and empowering English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)  classes for migrants in London. Our classes are spaces to build community and support students to organise collectively around issues like employment and housing rights. Our work currently supports around 400 adult migrants across London. We’ve become a national centre of good practice for a radical participatory approach to ESOL, informed by the work of Paulo Freire, and we share this approach through training, research and partnerships. 

Organisation: We are a staff team of 8 people supported by a larger team of volunteers and 9 trustees. EFA promotes shared leadership and collaboration and we aim for our organisational structure to reflect this. In the last 4 years we’ve transitioned away from having a CEO to an executive team to oversee operations and decision-making. As a charity, ultimate responsibility for, and control of, the organisation lies with the Board of Trustees. 

Fundraising at EFA: We have one permanent fundraiser at EFA, who works two days per week on this area of work. The majority of EFA’s funding comes from charitable trusts and foundations but we are also funded directly by some of our partner institutions to provide courses for their members. We receive some local authority/EU funding as well. We raise additional funds through individual giving, corporate relationships and earned income. We are keen to explore new areas of fundraising and/or develop some of our less well established income streams.

We are seeking a compassionate and highly organised individual to work within the Welfare Benefits Team. You will be required to undertake welfare benefit checks, provide tailored advice on missing benefit entitlements and advise on wider income maximisation areas. You will also be required to provide advocacy and representation at appeal tribunals with challenging, more complex, benefit decisions.

The successful candidate will need to have experience of providing welfare benefits advice with skills in advocacy, negotiation and communication. They will be an articulate communicator with excellent IT skills suited to working in a paperless environment. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to relate to people of all ages especially older beneficiaries, in a manner which is conducive to relieving stresses and concerns by giving sound and impartial information, guidance and assistance. 

The role is based in our London HQ, with a minimum of three days working in the office per week. The successful candidate for this role will need to be Standard DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

This includes childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called ‘honour’ based crimes such as forced marriage.

About the role

Reporting into the Financial Controller, the Finance Business Partner works closely with stakeholders across the organisation, including Executive Leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the project leads for all our funded services. The role

In this period of a new government, we have an ambitious programme of events planned under our Political Leadership theme and we are recruiting an events assistant to join us for one year to support the additional work anticipated, as well as assist on Green Alliance’s other core events. This work will significantly involve varied activity under our new one year training programme for the environment sector, Project Boost, which includes retreats, workshops and panel discussions.

You will be an enthusiastic individual who wants to develop their experience in events management. In the early stages of your career, you will be keen to learn and develop skills across a range of event formats.

You will need good interpersonal skills and attention to detail, helping us to maintain our high brand values and reputation amongst senior audiences for excellent, smoothly run, ‘must attend’ events. You will work across teams and will be someone who enjoys multi-tasking and managing a varied workload, at times in a fast paced environment.

Position in the organisation

This role is part of Green Alliance’s communications team. The communications team includes the head of communications, events and engagement manager, the senior press officer, and the communications officer. The events assistant will report to the events and engagement manager and work closely with the politics team.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Event assistance

− Help with logistics and administration in advance of events, including badge making, researching venues, invitation tracking and document circulation.

− Assist in gathering and compiling details for speaker briefings.

− Organise important logistics such as organising event materials, printing and travel.

− Assist onsite at events, for example with registration, venue liaison and managing Q&A mics.

Contact management assistance

− Assist with uploading attendee information to the database.

As a Rehoming Operations Manager, you will provide direct line management and leadership to our Centre Managers, fostering a culture of performance improvement, development, and empowerment. Your hands-on approach will ensure that quality and standards of pet care are upheld across both on-site and off-site services through regular site visits and data assessment.
