About the Role
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement, in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) and Lebanon.
The Deputy Director of Philanthropy will play a pivotal role in advancing MAP's mission by leading and expanding our fundraising efforts across trusts and foundations, major donors and corporate partnerships in the UK and internationally. This senior leadership position requires a dynamic, strategic, and highly motivated individual with a proven track record in high-value fundraising and relationship management.
About You
You will have an understanding of the history and particular circumstances which face Palestinians, as well as a passion for the cause. You’ll have demonstrable experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategies, and with a strong track record of securing major gifts, grants and corporate partnerships, you’ll take our partnership offering to a new level aiming for multi-year partnerships. You will use your excellent interpersonal and motivational leadership skills to develop and support team members to deliver their best work. Your exceptional communication skills and the capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines will be valuable.

Duties and key responsibilities
Leadership, Strategy and Planning
•Build and inspire a high-performing, results-oriented team focused on delivering fundraising targets through tailored partnership plans
•Lead the development of the Philanthropy and Partnerships strategy, setting ambitious targets in line with the fundraising strategy and goals in the UK and globally.
•Collaborate with the Director and Heads of teams to develop team plans aligned with the Fundraising and Marketing strategy.
•Stay ahead of emerging trends and horizon scanning to ensure MAP’s philanthropy offering considers the latest developments.
Relationship Development and Management
•Cultivate and manage strong relationships with corporates, major donors, trust and foundation representatives to secure grants with a focus on multi-year partnerships.
•Develop and manage the portfolio of major donor prospects, creating tailored engagement plans to maximize their philanthropic potential.
•Lead stewardships events to bring the work to life and to connect supporters with MAP programme colleagues and medical volunteers.
•Collaborate with programmes and communications teams to ensure the team creates persuasive proposals, impactful reports, and engaging donor communications.
•Lead and be responsible for the due diligence procedure for new partners, as well as periodically ensuring that current partners still meet MAP’s guidelines.

•Lead, create and manage annual and three-year rolling budgets working with programmes, communications and finance.
•Working with the Head of Fundraising Operations, provide reporting for the SMT and Board on a quarterly basis, and at a team level on a monthly basis, highlighting risks and opportunities and making necessary adjustments to ensure continued success.

About Lepra
Lepra is dedicated to addressing leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF) and their consequences through direct support, advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive communities. We work in Bangladesh and in India, through our sister organisation, LEPRA Society. Job Context
Our new Global Strategy introduces some new approaches and priorities to our work, including: our first ever global Theory of Change (ToC), the most detailed Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) approach ever, and a sub-strategy dedicated to research, innovation and technology: the Global Research, Innovation and Technology Strategy (GRITS). With the finalisation of the new strategy, and as part of our ongoing commitment to improving our impact and efficiency, we are now seeking a consultant to provide specialised research support and technical advice.
Job Purpose
The primary objectives of this role are to lead the transitional phase of the GRITS, creating a detailed operational plan for its implementation; support the management of the existing research portfolio ensuring technical soundness, budget adherence and timely delivery; establish a sustainable pathway for research expertise to be led by in-country professionals.

Key responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the transitional phase of the GRITS.
- Identify and address any gaps or challenges in the current strategy.

As a Senior Fundraising Operations & Prospect Development Executive you will:
- Manage prospect research subscriptions, acting as account manager as needed and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to review these as needed, in line with agreed budget.
- Provide research to identify new high net-worth prospective donors and give insight on existing donors (individuals and organisations) who have the capacity and propensity to donate at a high level. Make evidenced recommendations on the type of approach and levels of ask to maximise income.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to coordinate an 18-month project exploring how we can operationalise a new in-work poverty benchmark for employers in London. This benchmark, developed by the Social Market Foundation, has the potential to improve the lives of low paid workers, building on the success of the Living Wage campaigns
The in-work poverty benchmark project is a new and exciting pilot project at the Living Wage Foundation. We want this person to build a case for employers going further than our existing accreditations and taking a more holistic approach to tackling in work poverty. This role would help us develop the pilot through employer case studies and extensive stakeholder engagement with a view to launching a new vehicle to recognise employers who adopt the in-work poverty benchmark.
Three key parts of the role would be working with:
- Our Membership team and our Operations and Insights team: to scope out and enhance their capacity to support employers to implement the benchmark through e.g. workshops, provision of guidance and /or new ways of working with employers.
- The cross organisational Making London a Living Wage City (MLLWC) team to build upon the successes and networks of this project and align where helpful to encourage London employers to go further
- London based community organisers to ensure that the experiences and stories of low paid workers are a primary driver of the case for change and how we develop this work.
The ideal candidate would be a proactive and experienced project manager with experience of building and implementing new products, projects or services. They should have excellent communication skills and a track record of engaging diverse stakeholders and building a network.
Living Wage Foundation
The Living Wage Foundation was launched in 2011 by Citizens UK to tackle in-work poverty and ensure that workers earn enough to live on and participate in family and community life. Citizens UK is the home of community organising with diverse civil society alliances set up to develop leaders to work on the issues that matter to them, such as the Living Wage. Other projects include Parent Action and Sponsor Refugees to add depth to the impact of Citizens UK’s work.
The Living Wage is a movement of businesses, organisations and people who believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. The real Living Wage is an independently-calculated hourly rate based on the cost of living and announced each October ahead of Living Wage Week, our annual celebration of a growing network of over 15,000 Living Wage Employers.

Main Responsibilities
Contribute to the achievement of the LWF and CUK’s strategic aims
· Work with the Living Wage Foundation team to embed this project into the wider work and strategy of the Foundation, and to identify and share learning from across our projects on how to mobilise employer action to tackle poverty.
Develop and manage external relationships
· Develop and implement a stakeholder engagement plan to support and promote the project.
· Manage strong relationships with the project partners and funders to involve and update them on the project as required.
· Progress our existing partnerships whilst proactively securing new partnerships with organisations that can help promote and build demand for the in-work poverty benchmark.
· Develop a wide-ranging network of stakeholders with an interest in this project, finding ways to involve them in its development.
· Coordinate and manage a project working group of senior Living Wage Employers, in work poverty experts and employee stakeholders.
Build and manage projects and achieve work targets effectively
· Set up, manage and evaluate a set of action pilots with employers, low paid employees and relevant experts to develop and test the in-work poverty benchmark and the standards within it.
· Design and develop the recognition mechanism and support programme for employers who sign up to the in-work poverty benchmark.
· Provide regular progress reports and deliver agreed project milestones including events, reports and other agreed outputs.
· Oversee the project being integrated into our CRM system and developing robust project management systems.
Learning, expertise, wellbeing and inclusion
· Conduct desk research, stakeholder interviews and organise events as required to inform the project. Manage research partners to conduct additional research as required.
· Monitor, review, evaluate and write up pilot progress with each employer using qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods.
· Working with others to identity and share learning on how to mobilise employer action to tackle poverty, considering this in the development of the in-work poverty benchmark.
· Develop and host employer facing events to gain insight and test appetite to support the development of this work.
· Design and facilitate employer workshops and employee focus groups to identify best practice and shared learning.
· Produce a final report and recommendations for how the work might be taken forward at the conclusion of the project, presenting this to relevant stakeholders.
Communications
· Oversee the collation and dissemination of research and evidence to build the case for the in-work poverty benchmark. Work with the Living Wage Foundation Communications and Research team to enable this.
· Develop the support we offer Living Wage Employers that are interested in implementing the in-work poverty benchmark and lead the production and design of research reports, toolkits, best practice guides and other resources.
· Promote the Living Wage Foundation to build our reputation as a leader in good work practices for low paid workers, including launching research and reports and celebrating progress made.
· Represent the Living Wage Foundation at meetings, events and conference to build awareness and support for our work.
Develop and manage internal relationships:
· Build and manage strong relationships across the LWF and wider Citizens UK teams for effective collaboration and to support development of this work.
· Work closely with community organisers in London to ensure the voices of low paid workers are a leading influence on this project.
· Contribute to the LWF and Citizens UK Senior Management meetings and cross organisational working groups.
Generate income and resources
· Oversee the development and implementation of an employer fee structure for the in-work poverty benchmark vehicle.
· Work with the Head of Business Development and Policy to produce a sustainable fundraising strategy for this work whilst developing relationship with potential funders.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to lead our Programmes Team whilst our current Director of Programmes is on maternity leave. The Director of Programmes will be a key member of CoachBright’s Senior Management Team, and will have input on both operational and strategic decision making. The primary responsibility for the Director of Programmes will be to recruit school partners for our EEF trial, with delivery beginning September 2025. This trial is to test the impact our Peer to Peer coaching programme (Y10s coaching Y7s) can have on the maths attainment of disadvantaged pupils. The trial will require us to recruit 100 participating schools, 50 of whom will receive the intervention, with another 50 allocated to a control group.
Working alongside the CEO and the Programmes Team Leader, you will create and execute a strategy to recruit new schools as participants to this trial. As a result, experience of managing sales or partnerships with schools, or existing connections with senior leaders at secondary schools and multi-academy trusts, would be beneficial.
Alongside this, you will line manage our current Programmes Team Leader, who directly line manages our team of Programme Managers. We have more than 12,000 individual members in the UK and worldwide. As a charity, we advocate for the key role of statistics and data in society and work to ensure that policy formulation and decision-making are informed by evidence for the public good. Members work with RSS staff to support areas such as policy development, education, training, statistical communication, and statistical literacy.
The Director of Professional Services is responsible for our professional affairs activities, overseeing the creation, maintenance and application of relevant standards through our professional affairs committee, and certification and accreditation schemes. They are also responsible for member recruitment and management, ensuring we continue to attract new RSS members and partners, and that their needs are met. They also oversee a range of activities that engage RSS members (including groups that bring members together on a topic or geographical basis, RSS honours and awards, and our volunteering opportunities), securing both our impact on society and member retention.
Informed by an in-depth understanding of the needs of members and prospective members, the Director manages these activities strategically across the organisation, bringing relevant staff together within small teams working on defined goals that support our objectives, foster a sense of value and community for all members and ultimately lead to the growth in membership and impact of the Society.
Pension and benefits: Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). A training budget, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme are also available.
Location: The RSS office is in central London and currently open twice a week. We offer flexible working arrangements and office attendance is encouraged but not mandatory depending on the role. In person attendance for certain meetings is required (including all staff/team meetings and governance/committee meetings that take place in person). Limited travel within the UK and internationally may be required.
Working hours: 35 per week full-time. Applications for job shares, part-time and flexible working will also be considered.
Holidays: 25 days per annum, plus bank holidays and an additional close down between Christmas and New Year.
Probation: This post is subject to a six-month probation period.
Key responsibilities:
Understanding needs and the changing external environment
- Develop an understanding of the preferences and needs of statisticians and data professionals, and others interested in data and statistics, to evolve our value proposition and align member benefits to those preferences and needs
- Undertake research to identify new target audiences for membership
- Monitor and respond to developments and emerging trends in charities, membership organisations and other learned societies, and in statistics/data science/AI to ensure that our membership offering remains timely and relevant
- Plan and deliver membership surveys and oversee the collection and management of member data
- Provide robust analysis of member behaviours to forecast future renewal patterns to inform financial planning
Development of strategies and plans
- Drawing input from across the organisation, develop strategies for membership recruitment, management, engagement, retention and professional affairs that support the organisation’s objectives and foster a sense of value and community for all members Lead the creation and delivery of fully costed programme plans for member recruitment, management, engagement and retention that align with key strategic goals Support the development of wider strategies and plans across the organisation
Programme management and delivery
- Deliver programmes of benefits, products and services which meet the needs of members and attract non-members Monitor and report on progress and performance against targets and plans Manage projects, including the establishment of new benefits, products and services, ensuring that quality work is delivered on time Work with colleagues to identify and develop promotion, sponsorship and other funding opportunities, and support colleagues in sales meetings with potential sponsors and funders Continually assess and improve processes and oversee the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures
Interfaces with other teams and groups
- Convene and lead cross-RSS groups to develop, share and review plans and activities and identify opportunities for synergy and collaboration Work with heads and other teams across the organisation to support related objectives Work with staff responsible for business development to capitalise on development opportunities Identify relevant experts within the RSS membership and engage them in programmes, formalising a network of volunteers and providing them with support and advice Collaborate with RSS volunteers, staff and external providers to ensure the delivery of projects and outputs to agreed deadlines Select, lead and manage contractors and third-party organisations to support programme deliverables
Leadership and management
- Bring relevant staff together within small teams working across the organization on defined goals that support our objectives Play an active role in the RSS Senior Management Team, providing leadership, and strategic insight for the organisation as a whole, and work together effectively in setting and achieving the Society’s goals Contribute to decision-making regarding the strategic direction and financial management of the Society Oversee budgets and meet income targets for individual programmes Negotiate with suppliers to deliver value for money Line manage staff

Person specification:
Essential
- Educated to degree level or equivalent Senior leadership experience Significant experience developing strategies and plans, preferably within a membership organisation Experience using data and evidence to develop value propositions and align services with needs Significant experience of programme and project management and operational delivery Excellent organisational skills and an ability to identify and respond to changing priorities Ability to accurately assess project needs or problems, make sound decisions and develop effective solutions Ability to plan, organise, prioritise and delegate work to ensure completion to time and budget Experience of negotiation and influencing Experience leading and managing staff and contractors Ability to develop relationships and communicate with a wide range of people Ability to structure information and present ideas and concepts clearly and concisely, particularly in written form Strong interpersonal skills; ability to persuade, inspire, influence, and achieve results through others Ability to establish and develop an extensive network of external contacts Strong numeracy skills, and the ability to produce, monitor and assess estimates/costs and work within budget Experience leading a small team and employing flexibility and imagination to achieve short-term and long-term business objectives Experiencing tendering for work and managing external contractors Ability to make sound commercial decisions and identify commercially viable/profitable projects Collaborative team worker – works with colleagues to achieve strategic and operational objectives Ability to work effectively and achieve results in a changing environment Ability to work on own initiative within RSS guidelines/directives Demonstrable commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
Desirable
