1. Partnership Development:

* Lead the management of existing corporate partnerships, ensuring clear communication, tracking of deliverables, and maintaining a positive relationship with all stakeholders.

The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024

This position is based at our head office in Hayle, Cornwall

We are looking for a new team player to join this high performing team who deal with all incoming requests for help, both by telephone and email, to listen to and record the needs of elderly and/or terminally ill people and their pets.

Where help is required, to raise a computerised record to log the case, task volunteers nationwide by telephone and email to offer assistance to elderly petitioners with the pet care and reassurance needed in order to honour our mission statement of “Peace of mind for owners, love care and safety for their pets”. Liaise with both petitioner and volunteer throughout to ensure the delivery of our service. This post will require a good overall understanding of the needs of elderly people and their pets.

An essential occupational requirement of this role is to participate with on-call midweek evenings and weekends (this will be one full week in five). Together with other members of the on-call team you will participate with on-call on a rota basis to help ensure and maintain our emergency telephone line during these times.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

i. To assist in contacting volunteers nationwide by telephone and email and tasking by telephone as required to help petitioners with their pets.

ii. To listen to the needs of each petitioner and accurately record information for each petitioner and their pet by completion of a computerised case to record volunteers assigned and the service provided.

iii. To ensure you record all of your communications onto the database in an accurate and timely fashion by way of comments on each petitioner case at the end of each conversation.

iv. To help maintain up-to-date records and mailing lists for petitioners, petitioners’ contacts and volunteers throughout the course of your work.

v. To ensure the appropriate delivery and quality of service provided to petitioners when you are handling a request for:-

a) Dog Walking

Task a minimum of two volunteers per case to assist with dog walking. Contact all volunteers after their first dog walk to check and ensure they have started, log all responses onto the database, then complete the case.

b) Home Checks

When a potential long term fosterer is identified, you will be asked to task a volunteer to visit and carry out a home check. Once the completed home check has been received, complete the case – (all home checks will be valid for 12 months).

c) Short Term Fostering (stf)

To initially gather as much information about the pet(s) as you can and how soon a foster is required. Raise a case and log all details onto the database, begin a computerised search for a suitable volunteer to foster, arrange transport, if needed, to take the pet(s) to the volunteer and follow up 24 hours after the pet arrives to ensure all is well. Keep in touch weekly.

If the pet goes home – arrange transport to take the pet back home, again follow up 24 hours after the pet has returned home with a phone call to the petitioner to ensure all is well. If dog walking or any other assistance is needed, raise a new case and task the appropriate volunteers to either dog walk, offer Pet Care, reassure etc.

If the pet(s) goes into long term foster – refer to your line manager, once a decision is made, then follow the protocols for Long Term Fostering see below.

d) Long Term Fostering (ltf)

Raise a Long Term Foster Case, if needed, identify and chat to potential individuals, all of whom must already be home checked, run through the home check with the person to identify any changes, refer to your line manager, once the right individual is selected, arrange transport to take the pet(s) to their new ltf home. Once the pet(s) have arrived, follow up 24 hours later to ensure all is well.

e) Pet Care

When required, task a volunteer to visit a petitioner and offer pet care, whether it is to administer medicine, groom, clean out a litter tray, bird cage, reassure, or any other pet care as agreed with your line manager as this is not an exhaustive list.

f) Talks

To task a volunteer to give a talk, attend an event, or represent The Trust, but, always take advice from your line manager with regard to appropriate volunteers for these tasks.

g) On-call

To ensure delivery of our service by participating in on-call and helping to maintain our emergency telephone line. Together with other members of the on-call team, on a rota basis to help answer on-call emergencies this will be one full week in five – Monday to Monday including the weekend encompassing bank holidays, if applicable. A day in lieu will be given for working bank holidays.

Upon completion of an entire week on-call and following a debrief with your line manager, a rest period of 1 day will be given to you immediately after ie Tuesday.

On-call is for emergencies which will require an urgent response, for example if an ambulance is waiting to take someone to hospital, your urgent response is vital to provide peace of mind for the owner, love care and safety for a frightened bewildered pet.

v. To liaise with all other members of The Trust to help maintain a quality service.

vi. To contribute to the team by helping to update volunteer and petitioner cases in the course of your communications.

vii. To help maintain filing and filing systems related to your work.

viii. To liaise with all other staff of The Trust in a flexible manner.

ix. To liaise with all petitioners and members of the general public in a polite and helpful way.

x. To be familiar with and adhere to procedures and protocols, disciplinary and applicable rules and ensure compliance with legislations (Health and Safety, Data Protection, especially the privacy of members, petitioners and volunteers alike).

xi. At all times to ensure and maintain a compassionate, professional and efficient public image for The Trust.

You will support the Head of Insight and Evaluation in providing the organisation with insight drawn from existing research, primary research, business data and through user insight. The role will lead development of a user insight approach and clear mechanisms to involve disabled people in the Foundation’s decisions systematically. The role will establish a user insight research community (akin to a customer panel but broader in scope), which the organisation can draw from for user insight.

The role is also responsible for delivering a strategic research and insight plan for the organisation to inform operational and strategic decisions, including feeding into our strategy mid-term review. Others in the organisations will also carry out research and hence this function has a role in setting standards for quality research, a coordinating role in ensuring a cross-organisational understanding of ongoing research to avoid duplication, and to draw insights and disseminate these to relevant internal and external audiences.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the head of team by developing a strategic insight research plan.
• Lead the delivery of the insight research plan, including developing clear research briefs, working with external suppliers to deliver research and where appropriate deliver research in-house.
• Establish a user insight capability in line with good practice and mature this capability over time.
• In collaboration with key internal customers, establish a framework for when and how to engage with disabled people regarding decisions.
• Develop and set standards for good quality research and insight for the organisation, including ensuring disabled people can fully and equitably participate in research/user insight exercises.
• Ensure that planned research and insight generation by the insight function is completed to a high standard, aligned with good practice.
• Set up and lead a cross-organisational research forum and ensure this mechanism is effective in avoiding duplication and creating alignment.
• Lead development and implementation of a communications plan to ensure insight generated reaches the right internal and external audiences.
• Ensure a framework to monitor and evaluate the usefulness and impact of insight generated is in place.
• Ensure all research carried out by the function meets GDPR requirements.
• Line-manage and develop your line-report(s).
• Be ‘hands on’ as necessary, by leading and delivering research personally.

Your experience

Must haves:

• Experience of delivering user insight and/or running customer/consumer panels and/or working with supporter panels.
• Ability to design and develop research programmes and have highly developed analytical skills.
• Highly developed ability to work collaboratively with other teams across the organisation.
• Exceptional written and oral influencing skills, including the judicious use of data and the compelling presentation of insights, through engaging reports, infographics, and dashboards.
• Relevant qualification in an analytical discipline such as social sciences, economics or evidence of significant relevant professional experience.
• Experience managing research projects or commissioning external consultants.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Line and/or team management experience.

We feel that experience of setting up and/or managing consumer, customer or supporter panels is relevant. However, please note that as a Foundation we do not fundraise and as such are not looking to develop a supporter panel.

Nice to haves

• Experience of disability inclusive research – this is essential to the role. However, we will ensure appropriate training for those who do not have these skills.
• Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis tools (e.g., MAXQDA, R) and data visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI).
• Proven quantitative and qualitative research skills and familiarity with working with large datasets.

Reporting lines and relationships

Reports to: Head of Insight and Evaluation.

Key relationships: Heads and programme managers in Charitable Operations, Head of Communications team and relevant managers, Policy team colleagues and over time other teams across the organisation looking for (user) insight. Relationships with external agencies and suppliers.

Direct reports: Initially 1 direct report in the form of a Research Manager with plans for a further junior role to be added to the team in future years.

Extra Information

• The role is based In Harlow, Essex at Motability’s offices, easily commutable from London, 30 minutes from Liverpool Street station or 18 minutes from Tottenham Hale station. We offer a shuttle bus from the Harlow Town train station to the office.
• We offer flexible and blended working within this role. The Insight and Evaluation team ordinarily works a minimum of two days a week from the office.

he Corporate Services team provides essential strategic and operational support across the organisation. Our governance function oversees compliance, risk management, and performance frameworks. The finance team manages budgets, financial planning, and reporting. All of this contributes to effective decision making. We are also responsible for looking after our properties, which includes maintaining oversight of two commercial leases, and maintaining Dartmouth House which is a grade II* listed events venue and our Head Office in Mayfair. 

Purpose of this role  

The Business Support Administrator will provide high quality support to the Board of Trustees and its sub-Committees, and the Chief Operating Officer. This role will work closely with the Executive Assistant to the Director General. 

Responsibilities and Expectations  

• Provide high-quality administrative and organisational support to the Chief Operating Officer, helping to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. 

• Coordinate the preparation and timely circulation of agendas, papers, minutes and action logs for Board and Committee meetings. 

• Monitor and report on progress against Board and Committee actions, ensuring timely follow-up and delivery 

• Support the delivery of the annual Board effectiveness review, gathering feedback and helping to implement improvements. 

• Assist with the planning and delivery of the annual external audit, working with colleagues and auditors to meet key deadlines. 

• Maintain key registers including the Gift & Hospitality Register, Declarations of Interest, and compliance trackers. 

• Facilitate due diligence checks as needed, liaising with legal advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance. 

• Maintain the organisation’s contract register, tracking review dates and supporting internal contract reviews and renewals. 

• Deliver one-off projects and provide flexible support across the Corporate Services team as required.

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Events and Stewardship Manager, to manage the planning, delivery  and evaluation of high impact  events and stewardship initiatives that engage and inspire prospects, donors and our partners: 

• Events: Taking a proactive approach to project management, this role will have responsibility for delivering a range of events across our global event portfolio. These events underpin Mission 44’s fundraising goals, especially for HNWI and corporate audiences. 

• Stewardship: As part of the fundraising team, the post-holder will deliver exceptional support and experiences for our current donors including production of impact-focused reports,  personalised communications and moments that build community for Mission 44’s growing donor base. 

It is expected the role will have a  60:40 split between events management and stewardship activities.  This role is ideal for a skilled planner, exceptional collaborator, and a strong writer, capable of supporting the delivery of exceptional donor experiences, stewardship communications, progress reports and materials that showcase Mission 44’s impact. It is worth noting whilst Mission 44’s events portfolio is global, this role will have minimal international travel. 

Key Responsibilities

Special Events Management 

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of global events within Mission 44’s portfolio, including donor and prospect dinners, trackside activations and flagship fundraising galas.

• Lead on core event logistics plans, including venue searches, supplier contracting, building of accurate run of shows and production schedules for multi-day events. 

• Produce quality briefing materials for event participants, staff, trustees, donors and impact partners. 

• Support the wider Fundraising team with securing sponsorship, ticket sales, and securing auction items. This includes production of targeted collateral for outreach. 

• Produce quality and timely evaluation for events activities that capture key learnings, recommendations and event ROI. 

• Work closely with the Fundraising Data and Operations Manager to ensure that events and stewardship data is updated in a accurately and timely manner to our CRM system (Virtuous). 

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure events materials are aligned with brand and messaging. 

Stewardship: Donor Communications and Reporting 

• Deliver exceptional donor experiences, including impact-focused reports,  personalised communications, and bespoke touch-points with impact partners and the Mission 44 team. 

• Oversee the preparation and submission of specific donor reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with donor guidelines and grant agreements. 

• Manage select bespoke stewardship projects which strengthen relationships with donors especially our corporate partners

• Work closely with our Impact and Finance teams to gather data, track progress, and strengthen internal reporting processes. 

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure that donor communications are consistent with our brand and messaging.

• Maintain accurate records of donor and partner interactions using our CRM system (Virtuous).

• Proven experience of project managing either bespoke events, campaigns, fundraising initiatives  from conception to evaluation.

• Understanding of stewardship and supporter journey – experience of improving the donor experience and/or developing a partnership via event participation. 

• Experience of managing a wide range of senior stakeholders and external suppliers with demonstrable knowledge of working with event venues in delivering health & safety, catering and production requirements, registration systems, sponsor requirements, AV technology, supporting high-profile talent, staff and volunteers. 

• Strong track record of producing high quality written materials including reports 

• Experience of working with fundraising CRM systems / guest management systems. 

Desirable: 

• Excellent track record, and evidence of delivering income growth through event fundraising. 

• Project management qualification such as Agile, Prince II or Scrum. 

• Strong experience of developing branded materials for events and written communications, and a good understanding of applying brand guidelines. 

• Experience of working with young people and embedding safeguarding policies in event delivery 

• Experience of working within an international setting

You will be from come from a background involving the creation and management of  fundraising products, projects and/ or appeals, most likely within the charitable sector. You will have an outcome-focussed approach, with experience of managing multi-disciplinary fundraising teams. We would expect an understanding of preparing organisation- and project-level cases for support, and that you are comfortable with achieving financial and non-financial targets – and supporting team members to do the same. You will be a great communicator with a personable style who can work with many different people across the wonderful variety of geography, business development and activities of the Wildlife Trust.
