Role Requirements
- Lead the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies to support the delivery of The Children’s Trust’s strategic objectives
- Provide exceptional line management and lead the Marketing and Communications team to develop their knowledge, skills and ways of working to support business aims and drive proactive and sustainable ways of working
- Create a positive environment, where the team feels valued and motivated to achieve individual objectives and deliver to high standards in line with The Children’s Trust policies, procedures, strategies and regulatory requirements
- Play a key role in the Fundraising, Retail and Communications Leadership team, promoting cross-team working and integration to optimise opportunities and manage risks effectively
- Development of content, including written, video and graphic content, tailored for the intended audience and produced for maximum reach and efficiency
- Develop and deliver marketing campaigns that support organisational recruitment and the development of the workforce, working in close collaboration with the People team – with a particular focus on ensuring a steady flow of applicants for key clinical roles
- Lead the development and implementation of an integrated communications plan, with consideration of the key messages and audiences from across The Children’s Trust, where relevant working closely with the Head of Business Development and Commissioning where audiences may include referrers and commissioners
- Lead The Children’s Trust press office function, supported by the Senior Media and Communications Manager, including being part of an out-of-hours on call press office rota during key periods
- Oversee and promote the consistent use of brand across all channels including core messages, tone and visual brand
- Responsible for the strategic development of The Children’s Trust website and overview of content, working with business owners across the organisation to ensure content is accurate, compliant and effective

About the Role
This new role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR within Mind BLMK. The role will join the CEO and Head of Finance and Head of Operations as part of the Executive team. We require a strategic thinker who can align HR practices with our objectives, foster a positive culture, drive talent management and foster employee development.
Mind BLMK has a workforce of around 90 people and a small infrastructure to support us to deliver our valuable services to the community. The Head of HR will be hands on and supported by a HR assistant but will also work closely with other departments to ensure development and implementation of policies and programs that support Mind BLMKs goals.
About You
The successful candidate will have significant experience in managing talent acquisition, employee development, compensation and benefits and employee relations, Minimum 2 years’ experience of strategic and hands on HR leadership and experience of securing engagement from staff, managers and department heads.
Key Duties
- Develop and implement HR strategies, processes and services aligned with our overall strategy and vision
- Lead the HR function and team
- Be a pro-active member of the Executive team
- Monitor, update, and advise staff and managers on HR policies and procedures, ensuring that they are adhered to and effectively communicated across the organisation.
- Manage the production of relevant and timely information for managers and the Board of Trustees to include but not be limited to KPIs, timetables for appraisals, probation reviews, sickness management and equality and diversity statistics.

This is a newly created role to support the Head of Human Resources with the day to day running of the department, overseeing administrative tasks and providing guidance to managers and employees on policies and procedures. An exciting opportunity to become part of the Senior Management Team (SMT) at Schoolreaders, a dynamic and fast-growing charity based in Bedford. Schoolreaders is a national charity tackling poor literacy through a network of volunteers who provide one-to-one reading support to children in primary schools across the country. We are the largest national in-school child literacy charity, supporting over 28,000 children in over 1,400 schools every week. We have ambitious plans to grow and support many more children in future, so it’s an exciting time to join us.
We are looking for a committed individual to join Schoolreaders to be part of the SMT and wider charity, delivering this vital support to children. As Head of Business Support, you will be coming on board to develop and manage the structure and team that deliver the support functions for the charity, helping keep everything running smoothly. Your team will consist of employees, contractors and third parties where necessary, and you will co-ordinate them to deliver a seamless set of services. At this time the role will line manage two officer roles within the charity, manager several third parties (including HR and IT) and work alongside the Head of Finance.
The Head of Business Support will oversee compliance, governance, HR, IT, facilities, and administrative functions. e. HR (managing both internal and external resources) to support recruitment, starters and leavers, staff welfare, processing payroll, leave and sickness and the training and development of people.
f. Facilities, managing office spaces, supporting home workers and overseeing health and safety.
g. Producing and leading on the annual Culture Review, collating scoring and feeding back to trustees.

About the role:
As the HR Business Partner for our West Midlands region, you’ll leverage your strong generalist experience to support all HR areas. You’ll be backed by a fantastic HR Advisor who will handle complex ER cases under your guidance. • Being responsible for the staff administration of UK employments throughout the entire employee’s life cycle, aligning with the global HR Business Partner for any international positions
