Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Hours: 35 hours (full time)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who understands the multiple disciplines required to deliver this fast-paced area of the business, to join our small, but supportive, Housing & Neighbourhoods Team. It is an interesting and varied role for an engaging, solution-focused person, with a passion for providing this type of services and someone who wants to add value within an organisation.

You will bring your knowledge and experience by providing financial acumen and support to various stake holders, staff and residents by supporting in keeping ISHA financial services and maintenance records along with close scrutiny of requisition orders being placed.

You will work closely with the Head of Assets and Repairs in a generalist capacity, to support with continuous improvement across all service areas, while helping to support and achieve our organisational objectives.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

• Good understanding of the National housing federation rates to enable processing of invoices.
• Responsible primarily for orders being produced within the Housing and Neighbourhoods department, covering responsive repairs, neighbourhood services and support when required across planned works and empty homes by way of controlling and monitoring costs.
• Ensuing orders are coded/allocated to the correct budget lines, appropriate evidence for cost approval is saved on ISHA systems.
• Take ownership of requisition approval process of orders being requested for supply of goods, by validating requisition and purchase orders prior to ordering goods and services.
• Ensuring that robust financial monitoring, reporting, and forecasting systems are in place.
• Contributing to the budget plan and compiling budget reports monthly.
• To support in the managing of all contracts associated with the delivery of these services delivering excellent customer service and value for money.
• Ensuring that robust monitoring, reporting, and forecasting systems are in place and data is kept updated.

This is busy and varied role, so we’re looking for someone, who can adapt to a fast-paced working environment while ensuring consistency, alongside considering and minimising risks, who will play an integral role in delivering our services.

As chair of the panel, you will work with a dedicated team of safeguarding experts, specialists and diocesan staff to ensure that the DSAP discharges its role of advising the Bishop of Guildford, the Diocesan Board of Finance and other senior leaders on the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Ongoing development and implementation of ARUK’s web content strategy, including microsites and apps, where appropriate.

· Working with teams across ARUK to ensure content is up to date and meets Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) / Accessibility standards.

· Play a leading role in the creation of campaign landing pages, working closely with the Digital Campaigns Manager to ensure that landing pages are effective, with clear calls to action.

We are currently seeking a Grants and Trusts Fundraiser as part of the recently agreed investment in fundraising to help us to deliver our strategic and operational ambitions in line with our three-year plan.

The Trusts & Grants Fundraiser reports into the Head of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications and is responsible for developing our trust fundraising capability, investigating, researching and making approaches for new funding. You will use your excellent communication skills to develop our case for support and to complete impactful and professional applications.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of raising income from trusts, foundations and major grants (ideally within a hospice or healthcare context) together with excellent research, analytical, communication and relationship development skills. You will also be comfortable with working in a small team and with taking initiative and responsibility.

During the first 6 months, the successful candidate will be expected to establish themselves in the new role and develop our trust fundraising strategy with some early income generation. Post this establishment period an annual fundraising target will be proposed and agreed in line with our three-year income generation plan.

We are looking for someone with great interpersonal and negotiation skills with a positive, creative and proactive approach. As well as excellent IT skills, you will need to be self-motivated and comfortable working to financial targets.

Age UK Islington is developing a new befriending service in the coming months. As part of this development, we have an exciting opportunity for a part-time role as a Befriending Coordinator.

This will involve supporting all aspects of service development, partnership building, volunteer recruitment, training and management and matching volunteers to clients for home visits, telephone befriending and/or activity-based befriending. The post holder will also be responsible for case recording, monitoring and service evaluation.

The role is for 15 hours per week; this may increase to 21 hours per week dependant on the success of future funding applications. There is flexibility around when you work these hours.

Candidates must have an interest in working with older people, excellent communication skills, organisational skills, experience of facilitating training and able to maintain accurate records and produce monitoring and evaluation reports. Ideally candidates will have the ability to manage their own workload and work independently and with initiative .

Every year, thousands of students come together to build communities around activities and issues that are meaningful to them. Our role as the Students’ Union is to provide the resources to make this happen, particularly as students are increasingly struggling to balance voluntary activity with paid work due to cost pressures. The Student Development team is restructuring and reprioritising to respond to this challenge, and we’re seeking a Programme Manager to lead the team through this period of transition.

We’re proud of the impact our student leader programmes have on their participants; since September 2023, students have raised over £155,000 for charitable causes, spent over 4,800 hours volunteering in the local community, and broadcast around 80 hours of award-winning radio content each week, to name just a few successes. However, we’re ambitious to grow the community of students engaged with our leadership programmes and ensure that the experience of participating is beneficial enough to compete for student time with paid work and other commitments.

To help us realise this vision, the Programme Manager will lead the team in improving our approach to programme management to enable scaled engagement and more intentional outcomes for students. This is a change management role, with the Programme Manager focused on creating the psychological safety and professional development opportunities required to empower the team experiment with the way they run their programmes. Ours is a dynamic team with a busy portfolio of activity, so the Programme Manager must utilise their operational and people management experience to embed changes that will have a lasting impact on our team and the students we support, whilst delivering excellent short-term outcomes for our programmes in 2024-25.

Position: Corporate Fundraising Manager

Location: Hybrid/Remote working – primarily home based with occasional travel to Maidenhead

Salary: FTE £34,978 per annum (pro-rata £18,655)

About the role

The Corporate Fundraising Manager post will work alongside the Head of Fundraising to develop and deliver strategies to maintain and grow their Corporate Fundraising.

You will play a vital part in the small, friendly, and ambitious fundraising team who are currently raising over £400K annually and aspiring to grow our income to over half a million by 2025.

You will have responsibility for leading and growing income via the Corporate Partnerships and Employee Wellbeing Programme.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Corporate fundraising and partnership management
• Marketing and Promotional
• Financials
• Administrative and other duties

As the Corporate Fundraising Manager, you will have the following skills and experience:

• Proven track record of successfully managing a charity’s corporate partnerships
• To be aware of and compliant with the legislation surrounding Direct Marketing and the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Good knowledge of the principals of customer service/supporter care and donor development.
• Possess sound knowledge of GDPR and the impact on fundraising in terms of on-going consent and deletions of donors.
• Significant experience of working within a charity in a similar fundraising role.
• Experience of developing new fundraising products and building a programme of engagement to grow fundraising income.
• Experience of managing a varied fundraising portfolio or working in a fundraising environment.
• Experience of using a CRM database to maintain data accurately, and an understanding of how to extract and evaluate information.
