MAIN PURPOSES OF THE JOB
The Stella Maris (SM) Regional Port Chaplain will promote the vision, mission and values of SM in caring for all seafarers and fishers by helping to meet their pastoral and spiritual needs. They will recruit, train and support SM staff and volunteers for the port and will maintain good relations with local parishes and the local diocese. They will work ecumenically with members of other Christian maritime societies with whom SM works.
1. To meet the welfare and pastoral needs of all seafarers and fishers equally according to their needs and wishes. To be an advocate on their behalf, upholding the dignity of each. Through regular and frequent ship visiting, to understand the working and living conditions of the seafarer and fishers and be able to work for justice and for the well-being of all crew members without distinction.
2. To address the communication needs of seafarers, providing transport, news, and access to telephone and internet facilities.
3. To address the welfare needs of seafarers and fishers, including support with money transfers, hospitality, and crisis support, e.g. abandonment, injury and death, detainment, bereavement, advice and access to medical care.
4. To meet the ecclesial, spiritual, and sacramental needs of Catholic seafarers and fishers; to facilitate the religious and spiritual needs of others and to be a pastor to all, sharing one’s faith as appropriate.
5. To participate in SM conferences, ongoing formation and other professional courses as required.
6. To supporting seafarer centre functioning.
7. To recruit, train, develop and retain a SM ship visiting volunteering team.
8. To represent SM on the local Port Welfare Committee(s), to include attending such meetings and submitting reports.
9. To liaise and maintain good working relationships with all port stakeholders, including the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the International Transport Workers’ Federation, port health, harbour masters, dockers, security, and shipping agents.
10. To work in an ecumenical and multi-faith context by respecting the differing religious and spiritual needs of seafarers drawn from diverse regions throughout the world.
11. To encourage and support the development of an ecumenical service to seafarers through engagement with our ecumenical colleagues, including the Mission to Seafarers, The Fishermen’s Mission, The Sailors’ Society (to name a few).
12. To engage with local maritime colleges.
13. To engage with the local press, in particular the local Catholic diocesan press.
14. To represent and be a proactive advocate for SM at Deanery meetings, in local parishes, in schools, with diocesan Justice and Peace networks, with migrant communities, in the local Catholic community and in the local community as a whole.
15. To support the Fundraising and Communications team with the development of local fundraising initiatives.
16. To promote SM internally and externally so as to ensure a highly motivated workforce and a positive external image.

Job Summary:
The Events Coordinator role plays a vital part in our Challenge Events stream, managing a portfolio of events to deliver income and participant number targets, providing excellent supporter care, building strong, long-term relationships and maximising supporter development opportunities. We are looking for applicants with experience supporting fundraising events in the charity sector, who have engaged supporters via social media and email marketing, as well as over the phone.
Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Lead on the marketing for the events in your portfolio, collaborating with marketing, digital and other key teams within the Engagement division.
- Develop and deliver the supporter journey for events participants in your portfolio to deliver an excellent supporter experience, build strong, long-term relationships and meet agreed income targets.
- Plan and deliver the logistics of events in your portfolio, including managing activity on event days.
- Ensure that all events are managed efficiently and effectively, tracking and reporting on results and supporter feedback to inform decision making for future activity.
- Work with the wider team to deliver the strategy and current plans, contribute to future development, team improvement and innovation projects.

About the role:
We are looking for a motivated, vibrant and focussed Donations Assistant to join our busy Individual Giving Team. This position will be based at our head office in Leatherhead, but hybrid working is available.
As our Donations Assistant it's your responsibility to process all online charity donations and trading arm payments. JOB PURPOSE
Start Network is looking for an Institutional Funding Manager who is strategic, ambitious, and a great team player. You will work with the Head of Resource Mobilisation to set and deliver a strategy to maximise our institutional funding portfolio and grow our income substantially over the coming three years (from £38m annually to £50m). This role will be key to enabling Start Network to deliver on its strategy, and the postholder will have the opportunity to engage across all areas of Start Network’s programmes. The Institutional Fundraising manager will be responsible for securing and overseeing significant levels of income from institutional sources for Start Network’s work globally, including working with programmes teams on project development and the preparation of high-value proposals for institutional donors (narrative, budgets, monitoring frameworks and other technical documents). The postholder will be expected to work at both an operational and strategic level, managing their own portfolio of donors (such as FCDO who is our largest donor), securing new business from scratch, and providing Start Network with tactical direction on donor outreach and compliance.
Currently, we receive funding from multiple European governments and FCDO so experience with these funders plus USAID would be critical for this role.

The role is an integral part of Street League’s Commercial Team and will play a key role in prospecting, developing engagement, making funding applications and stewarding relationships with trusts and foundations, supporting Street League’s work to give young people across England and Scotland a brighter future through secure employment.

Role:
This is a new post introduced as part of Street League’s strategy for 2024-2027, which has growth at its heart. You will be an integral member of Street League’s philanthropy team which is responsible for raising £3m+ annually from trusts, foundations and major donors. Managed by the Head of Major Giving and working closely with our existing Trusts Manager, you will take a leading role in identifying new trust and foundation opportunities for Street League. You will develop new trust and foundation relationships, growing Street League’s income through compelling proposals. You will also manage a portfolio of existing trust and foundation supporters, building strong relationships and enabling our donors to see first-hand the difference their support is making.

Salary: £40,016
Work pattern: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (36.25 hours per week). Please note that we will also consider part-time, flexible hours or a job share.
Location: Hybrid with 1-2 days per week in Street League's London office (Victoria)

CSE are looking for an Intern to support the teams project development and fundraising activities. Providing support to colleagues in the development team, in the delivery of an effective and successful function of prospect research, project development, fundraising and bid writing. The Intern will also provide administrative support to the development team in the day-to-day maintenance of our systems i.e. tracking new opportunities, updating our contacts database and project staff CVs.
Pay and conditions
- The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) 9 Months.
- The salary for the Development Intern post will be £23,850.

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- To undertake desk-based research (e.g. into funders or subject matter relating to bids) and assist colleagues in producing content for and compiling proposals, tenders and funding pitches.
- To make daily checks of contract finder and other funding portals, sharing relevant opportunities promptly with colleagues to assist quick decision making.
- To maintain CSE’s contacts databases – updating records and undertaking occasional systematic reviews.
- To interact with and update CSE’s development systems e.g. the development database (when bids are submitted or decisions are made), staff CVs, project descriptions etc.
- To write content that supports the development teams activities (short project summaries, staff CVs etc).
- To provide administrative support for wider development and fundraising activities such as coordinating meetings and events.
- To work closely with other staff within the development team to ensure effective workload planning, project development and delivery.
