Key Responsibilities
- The purpose of this role is to lead the charities Lotteries and Raffles team which has the goal of generating and inspiring support from both new and existing supporters. This person will advance existing products and campaigns towards their full potential as well as develop new campaigns and activity that drive growth, retention and engagement. In doing so, they will act as a key support to the Executive Director of Individual Giving and Lotteries in ensuring that the department achieves its income generation goals.
- Develop a clear vision and strategy to deliver sustainable income growth within the prize led fundraising channel.
- Drive and oversee all day-to-day activity around lotteries and raffles, ensuring campaigns are effectively coordinated and that broader teams are enabled to support delivery.
- Proactively find ways to increase the impact of the Lottery and Raffle income streams by developing and testing new approaches to player recruitment, retention and engagement.
- Supported by the Executive Director of Individual Giving and Lotteries ensure compliance of the KSS lottery activities against the charities Gambling Commission license conditions
- Ensure that the operations of the entire income stream, including those delivered by external parties, adhere to guidance and legislation set out by associated regulatory bodies. This includes but is not limited to the Gambling Commission, Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator and Chartered Institute of Fundraising best practice guidelines.
Head of Lotteries and Raffles
The role of Head of Lotteries and Raffles is part of the management team within the Individual Giving and Lotteries directorate. This directorate plays a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with our supporters and generating sustainable income for KSS. Our Lotteries have a combined income of £9 million per year, and the Head of Lotteries and Raffles will be responsible for ensuring the consistent growth of these lotteries, and to ensure that we provide engaging and safe fundraising avenue for our supporters.

About us:
Hospice at Home’s core service is its skilled team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants who provide exceptional care and support in people’s last year of life and at end of life, also providing additional services such as Lymphoedema, Bereavement and Family Support, Befriending, Occupational Therapy and Complementary Therapy.
We provide individualised care and support to improve quality of life and our end of life care helps facilitate a peaceful and dignified death in the home and support to those who are bereaved.
Although we receive some funding from the NHS, we need to raise over 85% of our running costs in order to ensure that this vital help is available when needed and remains free of charge to patients and their families. Our Fundraising team plays a huge part in raising these vital funds.
Our clinical service area covers a mixture of urban and rural communities, a region of approximately 1,500 square miles throughout North and East Cumbria.

Surrey Community Action exists to support Surrey’s voluntary sector, the diverse communities of Surrey, and other organisations who seek to work with both. We do this in three main ways:
- Advocacy and Representation - ensuring that non-voluntary sector stakeholders understand the value of our sector and how to work together to achieve shared objectives.

About The Role

Leadership and line management
This role looks after some of our community project officers who in turn provide information, advice, guidance, and support to a diverse range of stakeholders, including community buildings, rural housing enablers, Good Neighbours Schemes, Community Champions, Gypsy Roma and Traveller communities, and people in fuel poverty.
You will provide effective line management to our community project officers, focusing on developing them to excel in their roles and broaden their skills, making sure to lead by example and develop yourself alongside them.
Running the Charity
You will form an integral part of the management team, working in tandem with the Chief Executive, management team and Board of Trustees, supporting the charity in strategic leadership, performance management and development our projects and services.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have or build a deep understanding of Surrey’s voluntary sector and communities. You may design and conduct consultations and market research to deepen your knowledge and share it with peers and other stakeholders in ways tailored to our audiences.

The Nuts and Bolts
Our offices are in Burpham, Surrey (GU4 7HL). This role can be delivered from the office, or as a hybrid role with 2-3 days in the office per week.
You will report directly to the Chief Executive and be responsible for 5-6 project officers. You will be an equal part of our small management team and contribute to our trustee board meetings.
We are committed to continued professional development and will support you to develop your skills even further.
You may have to travel across Surrey and sometimes beyond, so access to transport would be an advantage where public transport is not an option (we can support you into Access to Work scheme as needed).
This is a full-time role (35 hours per week), but that time can be flexible to accommodate family and caring commitments.

About the role:
We are looking to appoint an Events Manager who will be responsible for leading the events programme. This will include developing, promoting and delivering a range of events that maximise income, drives supporter engagement and raises our profile.

Since 2018, Connect: North Korea (CNK) has grown from a small community start-up into an effective and impactful organisation with an annual income of approaching £500,000, mainly through grants from Trusts and Foundations. We now want to develop our individual giving programme to build our unrestricted income and secure our long term growth.
As our new Head of Individual Giving, you will be responsible for growing our income from our individual and corporate base to help us reach more vulnerable members of our community. They will be an effective fundraiser and key contact for grant giving organisations, personal donations and legacies. They will report directly to the Director sharing collective responsibility to deliver the Society’s strategy and vision.
Initially on a 2.5-year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension subject to funding, the post will work as part of the senior management team and liaise directly with staff, Councillors (trustees), members (known as Fellows) and other organisations and individuals to ensure the successful delivery of their responsibilities.
The post will have the following immediate priorities:

Person Specification

Further Information
This post is an initial 2.5-year (30 month) full-time contract which will be extendible subject to funding. A lot of work has already been undertaken by the Society in preparing for an NLHF application as part of this, but the skill and experience of this post will ensure it has the maximum chance of success. This will include liaising with others, including NLHF staff and our consultants, the More Partnership.
The tasks and role will develop in line with the requirements in that application and the implementation of the Transformation Plan and will be reviewed after the submission of the initial NLHF bid. KEMP Hospice has been providing valuable care and support to people across the Wyre Forest, affected by a life-limiting illness, for 55 years.
They are an incredible Hospice who offer end-of-life care, counselling and emotional support free of charge to adults facing a life-limiting illness, their families, and carers for as long they need it. As well as providing care as a day hospice KEMP also offer a bereavement counselling service.
Eden Brown Charites are delighted to be partnering with KEMP to find them their next Head of Fundraising and Communications at an exciting and pivotal time for the Charity. The Role
As Head of Fundraising and Communications you will be responsible for building the brand of KEMP Hospice across the Wyre Forest and you will be responsible for setting and delivering an ambitious fundraising strategy and achieving income targets in line with objectives. You will manage a lovely fundraising and communications team. You will also be instrumental in maximising income from individual giving, legacy giving, corporate fundraising, community fundraising, fundraising events and trusts & foundations, and lottery.
You will ensure that there is a good stewardship plan in place for donors as well as work closely with the Communications team to develop an integrated communications strategy to raise the charity's profile and support fundraising efforts. You will also oversee the creation of high-quality content to be used across various platforms, including the website, social media, newsletters, press releases, and annual reports.
About You
You will have had proven experience in a fundraising role as well as experience in managing a team. You will also have be able to demonstrate experience in communications and/or understand a wide range of communication techniques. You will also be experienced in implementing and devising a stratergy across multiple income streams.
The role is based in the Hospice in Kidderminster with some home working available. Please note that applications are looked at on a rolling basis with interviews scheduled on a rolling basis. Their efforts are focused on building the necessary income, driving transformative change, and amplifying influence to fulfil our mission both in the UK and globally.
You will successfully manage the fundraising and communications team of 2 staff compromising of the Database/Donor Manager and Communications/Engagement Manage to develop a strategic approach that aligns with the charity's annually agreed income and expenditure budgets. This involves setting clear goals, providing ongoing mentorship, and implementing performance metrics to ensure that the team is equipped to generate the necessary income to support the charity’s initiatives. This includes management of Trusts and Foundations, Events and Community, Corporate, Statutory and Overseas funding streams and Individual Giving streams.
You will be responsible for all internal and external communications means ensuring that every message, whether it's a press release, social media update, or internal briefing, effectively conveys the charity's mission and values. This consistency helps to strengthen the brand, engage supporters, and raise awareness of our work, fostering a sense of community around our goals.
Your support to colleagues in the MdM Network involves leveraging relationships and sharing best practices to help secure funding from UK donors. This collaboration is crucial for expanding our reach and ensuring that our work is recognized and funded across various platforms.
Finally, you are an active member participating in the Senior Management Team contributing insights and strategies that align with the charity’s development goals. This collaborative effort is vital for shaping the direction of the organisation and ensuring that all initiatives are cohesively aimed at delivering our broader objectives. By engaging in this leadership role, the Head of Fundraising and Communications role will help to drive the charity's mission forward, ensuring long-term sustainability and impact.
