Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) and G4S to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons.  We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Stoke Heath. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust Team Members, this is an exciting role leading on the delivery and development of creative and exciting literacy initiatives and an ambitious Reading Strategy at HMP Stoke Heath, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.

This role is subject to contract award and will be prison-based.

Fundraiser (Community & Events) is an important link between the hospital charity and the local community. The post holder will be responsible for managing community events and being an active member of the charity team in securing financial support from these areas of fundraising.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that fundraising campaigns and events are in place that will have high profile and will generate funds to agreed targets. The post holder must be inventive and highly organised in order to initiate and then deliver highly successful events. In this role, you will:

• Manage the switch from our Django CMS to a (ready to launch) Wagtail CMS.

• Deliver new features to our Wagtail CMS and website functionality.

Heart Research UK is a leading non-profit organisation dedicated to stopping people dying from heart diseases. The Health Promotion & Education team enhance the heart health of the UK population through innovative health improvement programs.

The Healthy Heart Coach will deliver health checks, provide tailored heart health lifestyle advice, and conduct heart health coaching sessions within community, workplace and event settings. The coach will also be responsible for ensuring accurate data capture, maintaining and replenishing stock for events, assisting in the development of engaging health promotion resources and future delivery of health education workshops and exercise sessions.

Salary: Circa £40,000

Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid

Hours: Full time and permanent.  Working 35 hours a week over core working hours of 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The office is open 8am - 7pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office.

Key Responsibilities:

• To develop, implement and manage regional (community) fundraising the associated income and expenditure budgets, ensuring that all budget targets are achieved 
• To evaluate regional fundraising plans on a regular basis and make changes when necessary

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. 

Their vision is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours. To achieve their mission, they are looking for a Community Fundraiser who will proactively engage with supporters, community groups and volunteers across the West Midlands to join their team of 12 Community Fundraisers across the UK.

The Community Fundraiser (West Midlands) is responsible for providing support and guidance to fundraisers within their communities to achieve their ambitions and ultimately raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research. This is achieved through a wide variety of activities such as helping supporters to make the most of their own fundraising, engaging participants with externally organised events such as the Great Birmingham Run, and encouraging communities to get involved in events organised by Brain Tumour Research such as Wear a Hat Day and Walk for Hope. The Community Fundraiser will be the face of Brain Tumour Research in the area, providing excellent stewardship to existing supporters, and building great relationships with new supporters.

This post has been vacant since Autumn, and as such needs a fundraiser with confidence and capability in fundraising to join the team, provide donor love to the loyal supporters in the area, and approach developing the areas potential with energy and enthusiasm. If you have fundraising experience and are keen to join a charity with ambition and an amazing supporter base, then this could be the role for you.

Please note the successful candidate will need to live within the region (Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Gloucestershire), have access to a car and be willing to travel around their region. ABOUT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER ROLE

We are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to play a crucial role in shaping and upholding the highest standards of workplace safety and well-being across our organisation. Your expertise will ensure that our policies, procedures, and risk management systems not only meet compliance requirements but also create a safe, inclusive, and psychologically supportive environment for all. What are we looking for from a Health and Safety Officer?

• Demonstrated experience in a comparable health and safety role, with responsibility for maintaining standards across an organisation
• Familiarity with governance frameworks, including: Conducting audits and risk assessments, leading investigations, handling complaints and preparing detailed reports
• Track record of implementing and monitoring quality standards
• Understanding of current health and safety legislation and best practices
• Ability to use and summarise information from management systems to monitor progress and identify key trends, patterns and themes
• Ability to write reports, policies and procedures in a clear, readable format
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Awareness and understanding of the impact of stigma and marginalisation on people who have multiple complex needs

About the role

We’re looking to recruit a Philanthropy Project Manager to join our Philanthropy & Events team on a fixed term contract (17 months) and help shape a positive and sustainable future for our planet. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world, and we could be the last that can do anything about it. This is your chance to join the fight for our world.

As Philanthropy Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the development and delivery of projects that support the engagement journey for major and principal-level (£1m+) donors. This will involve leading the project development and management of key fundraising initiatives and pipelines to engage and attract philanthropic support.  You will collaborate with relevant project teams and our design and impact team to develop strong, clear and impactful project plans. You will also deliver key engagement moments for major donors and influencers such as WWF project trips and events as well as assist with stewardship and reporting requirements for complex high-value funders. You will work closely with colleagues to develop high-value, clear and impactful project funding proposals for some of our largest prospects and donors. In addition, you will take the lead on engaging with Professional Advisory such as Philanthropy and Wealth Advisors, promoting environmental philanthropy.

We’re looking for someone with:

· Demonstrable project management experience and knowledge

· High-level organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise competing priorities and ensure the timely delivery of projects

· An understanding of working directly with donors, fundraisers and specialists to bring transformational gifts to fruition

· Knowledge and experience using CRMs (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365)

· Knowledge and experience of using project management tools (e.g. Asana, Trello, MS Planner)

· Experience organising group trips for donors and prospects

· Strong communication, interpersonal & organisational skills.
