River Church Ipswich is an HTB Network church plant in the town centre of Ipswich, which launched in September 2021 and has already grown quickly into a thriving resource church, with a congregation of more than 200, and three Sunday services.
The Spear Centre Manager will work as part of the River Church staff team to oversee the delivery of Spear—an employability programme equipping and empowering unemployed 16-24 year-olds to overcome barriers to employment and their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.

Key Responsibilities
Website
- Responsibility for maintenance and development of Resurgo’s website, delivering engaging content with a focus on dynamic visuals and videos, tailored to our different website audiences.
- Optimise user journeys across all Resurgo’s digital channels.
Partnership liaison and relationship management
- Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.
- Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.
Oversight of Spear Programme Spear
Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.
- As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
- Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
- Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education
Line management and training
- Manage the Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
- Be line managed by River Church staff, locally, and by Resurgo, nationally, to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPI.
Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry
- You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help the Assistant coaches to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
- Ensuring the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church
- Work with the Head of Operations and Fundraising Assistant to prepare successful grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
- Attend and participate in Staff Meeting, Tuesday morning Prayer Meeting, and Sunday Services (serving on a team at one or more Sunday service) • Regularly pray for Spear, River Church, and in particular our Social Transformation work.
- Attending other River Church events and services, occasionally speaking and/or contributing as required • Ad hoc tasks and other project work.
Site management
- Liaise with relevant staff locally on site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.

Summary
To manage the development of LE’s Aftercare programme to ensure its successful delivery against a range of desired outcomes for individuals, communities and our organisation. Our Aftercare programme is for adults, children and young people who have received Counselling from Listening Ear to help them cope with bereavement, separation & loss, domestic abuse and/or stress & anxiety. Our Aftercare beneficiaries benefit from ongoing support in a group context with support from experienced Counsellors. We run a number of Aftercare groups, all at different stages of development, and have recently been awarded funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for a period of just over four years. This will enable us to develop, evaluate and embed a more consistent Aftercare approach that is informed by our beneficiaries.
We are looking for an experienced Projects & Partnerships Manager, with a passion for providing effective services for people of all ages who face challenges with their mental health. You will work with our amazing team of Counsellors (who deliver the Aftercare groups) and with Aftercare beneficiaries and potential beneficiaries to plan, manage and evaluate an ongoing Aftercare programme, including positive activities. You will be responsible for managing a project budget of up to £30,000 per annum.
Job Purpose
- To gain a full understanding of the needs and interests of Aftercare beneficiaries (and potential beneficiaries) through regular consultation using a variety of methods.
- To work with our Aftercare delivery team to design a programme of positive activities that will help beneficiaries connect, take notice, keep learning, stay active and give (The Five Ways to Wellbeing). The programme will be informed by regular consultation with beneficiaries and will be delivered online and face to face dependent on the group.
- To research and identify appropriate external activity providers, supporting them to deliver high quality experiences that achieve outcomes against the Five Ways to Wellbeing and are safe, inclusive and appropriately resourced within budget.
- To ensure that all external providers, activities, venues and equipment are risk assessed and that appropriate mitigations are in place to manage and minimise risk.
- To ensure that all required materials and resources are purchased and posted to participants in advance of online activity sessions.
- To ensure that all Aftercare opportunities are communicated to potential beneficiaries in a timely and effective manner, maximising engagement and attendance through supportive reminders.
- To directly support the delivery of face-to-face Emotional Youth Club sessions, which take place on one Saturday of every month, usually in the Knowsley or St Helens areas, always involving a positive activity. You will do this alongside a team of two trained Counsellors and the selected Activity Provider.
- To work with colleagues in Operations to ensure the right systems are in place to monitor and evaluate our desired outputs and outcomes, using a CRM system (Lamplight) for which training will be provided.
- To ensure that Aftercare delivery staff understand and are fully recording the required monitoring and evaluation information.
- To convene a regular (monthly and later quarterly) Aftercare Project Team involving staff of LE, circulating agendas, distributing notes and actions and supporting their input as required.
- To communicate about the project internally, ensuring a high level of awareness of its benefits and working with Counsellor colleagues to ensure referrals to Aftercare groups increase and are consistent.
- Contribute to the vision, strategic planning and relevant policy development, for LE and actively participate as a member of the management team, supporting and working closely with the SMT.
- To work collaboratively with other Project and Partnership Leads within Listening Ear.
- To contribute significantly to biannual project reports for the National Lottery Community Fund, and quarterly Commissioner reports working with the Development Manager.
- To attend meetings with funders/Commissioners as required to give progress updates.

Job Purpose: MCF has a small team, but our impact is far-reaching. The Sector and Business Development Lead has an important role in supporting members and the wider British Muslim charity sector, reporting and working directly with the CEO. This is an exciting time at CBM UK, as we continue to grow and develop our philanthropic

experienced and passionate individual to be part of our Philanthropy Team.
This vital role will lead the programme to build and grow our relationships with High-Net-
Worth Individuals (Major Donors) over the next five years and beyond. Working alongside

Responsibilities and areas of work
This important role will seek to develop our Major Donor income stream, seeking to grow
both numbers of donors and income raised. At CBM, a Major Donor is considered to be
one who has the capacity to give £5,000+ per year and who relishes the opportunity to
have one-to-one, personalised interactions with CBM.
This role will seek to identify new high-level donors, as well as help to develop existing
relationships with our generous supporters.
Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Leadership Team, other team
members and (occasionally) external consultants, this role focusses on building and
consolidating our major donor portfolio, so increasing our donor base and thus our in-year
and pledged income.
Main Goal:
To successfully steward a portfolio of new and existing major donors through tailored

a) Analysing our current supporter base to build a prospect list, using our database

b) Developing donor-centric applications, proposals and initial approaches (by post,

You will be able to demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to identifying new opportunities and developing ideas. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to project manage fundraising campaigns and build personal relationships with alumni donors. You will be skilled in writing engaging fundraising copy for email, web and print. Ideally you will have experience of individual giving and/or legacy fundraising from the Higher Education or Not for Profit sector. However transferrable skills from exceptional candidates looking to move into the Higher Education sector are also welcomed.
