 Key Responsibilities:

•  Respond to various people queries raised across the business, providing expert advice around our people policies and ensuring our compliance to both employment law and employment best practices.

• Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with current legislation ready for sign off by our Head of People.

• Delivering/identifying training needs with the support of Head of People and People Co-Ordinator

• Advising managers on recruitment and selection strategies whilst managing the process

• Support various capability investigations, including grievance and disciplinary

• Work closely with the Make-A-Wish UK Finance Team and our third party payroll bureau to ensure an accurate payroll each month.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• CIPD Level 3 qualified

• Extensive experience in a people advisory role, including a solid understanding of current employment law, practices and payroll processes to be able to advise all employee levels.

• Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information

• Demonstrable experience of supporting project work within people function or similar

• Understanding of people engagement in the workplace

• Experience of creating resources for training sessions and frameworks

The Role 
 
As our Research Administration Assistant you will provide administration support for the Research and Services Team to ensure that Yorkshire Cancer Research supports high quality research and services that directly impacts the people of Yorkshire.

Supporting the Research Grants Manager, you will assist in running aspects of Award funding rounds, co-ordinating workshops to support wider initiatives and ongoing Awards management including accurate maintenance of records. 
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Work with the wider Research Funding team to provide administration support for all phases in research funding process to ensure we fund high quality and impactful research.

• Foster good relationships with the applicants, keeping them informed of further requests for information and changes as they occur. 

• Provide the administration support for a portfolio of research Awards, and where required service Awards. Co-ordinating award progress reporting and maintaining accurate records across the Award Management systems, ess to ensure we fund high quality and impactful research.

• Develop strong relationships with funded Award holders and serving as the main point of contact for any issues with Research Awards.

• Work across the Research and Services team to deliver successful meeting and workshop with external partners to support research funding initiatives and Patient and Public involvement (PPI).

• Support a variety of initiatives across the Research and Services Team as required. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be educated to A-Level or equivalent, or experience working in a similar position at a similar level.

• To have demonstrable evidence of continuing professional development 

• To have administration experience and experience of maintaining accurate records is essential.

• To have experience co-ordinating meetings, preparing paperwork and taking minutes.

• To have experience extracting information from a variety of sources to prepare suitable reports. 

• To have a high level of attention to detail, particularly in respect to maintenance of records.

• To have the ability to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

• To have excellent organisational skills, including time management skills, the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and coordinate multiple complex projects. 

• To have IT skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and databases.

The role 

In this role you will support the Corporate Partnerships Manager and Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships to develop and deliver fundraising initiatives that will support existing corporate partners and securing new gifts. Your responsibilities will include the day-to-day account management of existing corporate partners, new business development and the co-ordination of our payroll giving program. This will include research, prospect development, donor cultivation & stewardship, verbal & written presentations and all associated administration.   Additionally, you will contribute to projects within the philanthropy & partnerships team such as events and webinars; and the wider fundraising team to collaborate on prospect development, funding opportunities and volunteering.

About you

You will be an excellent communicator, both orally and written, who is confident in speaking with supporters. You will manage your own pipeline of donors, so will need to take initiative, prioritise and organise your own work, with limited supervision to achieve deadlines for multiple tasks. Agile decision making and problem-solving skills are essential.

You may have fundraising experience, but this is not essential if you have sales experience. 

You will have:

- Excellent customer service skills with a background in fundraising or sales.
- Experience in new business development including identifying, researching and contacting cold prospects.

Emmaus Bristol is a local homelessness charity and part of the international movement of Emmaus communities.

We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to lead on our fundraising by developing and implementing a strategy to secure core funding, as well as working with other managers to secure project funding. You will need to be innovative and determined as well as being an excellent communicator. This is a new role and it will really suit someone who is a confident self-starter with an eye for detail.

Emmaus is different to other homeless charities in that staff work alongside formerly homeless residents, known within Emmaus as Companions. So as well as working as part of our employee team, you’d also work alongside Companions and other volunteers.

Your enthusiasm and personality are as important to us as direct fundraising experience, so if your skills have been gained in a different sector, we will still welcome your application if you have relevant transferable skills. The key requirements are that you have experience of securing contracts or funding, can quickly build relationships with others, and are highly numerate and literate.

Battersea is here for every dog and cat, and has been since 1860. Our multiple award-winning Income Generation department raises around 60% of the Charity’s total income, allowing us to continue to grow to make sure we can be here for every cat and dog, now and in the future.

Our Direct Marketing Team is part of this department, and recruits and develops supporters. We are seeking a Direct Marketing Officer to join this team to independently manage and deliver a series of high standard direct marketing campaigns to recruit new donors, communicate with existing donors, and generate agreed income for Battersea through a variety of warm and cold marketing channels such as direct mail, print media, and digital promotion. This role will manage Battersea’s raffle product and campaigns associated with it.
