We anticipate the appointee may not hold experience across all core areas of our services. Based from home (must be UK resident), with ad hoc client and team meetings/socials (all travel paid), mostly within England. All IT equipment provided. Full-time or part-time (minimum 0.8 FTE - 28 hrs).

The Talent Set is delighted to be partnering Pets as Therapy (PAT) to recruit a Head of Fundraising, who will play a pivotal role in delivering the new fundraising strategy and increasing income to £1.7 million.
PAT is a UK-wide charity that inspires and enables volunteers to share the joy of their pets. Every day over 4,000 people in hospitals, care homes or schools get to meet a PAT Dog or Cat. Main purpose and scope of the role
This is a pivotal leadership role within the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at Medical Detection Dogs (MDD), combining strategic oversight with hands-on operational involvement. The role requires a proactive leader who can inspire a high-performing fundraising team while actively engaging in day-to-day fundraising activities.
As Head of Fundraising, you will lead the development and delivery of MDD’s income generation strategies across multiple streams. About the Role
As Head of Fundraising, you’ll be part of our leadership team, taking ownership of our income generation strategy and building strong partnerships to secure transformational funding. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support our strategic objectives.
- Build and nurture relationships with corporate partners, particularly in the asset management and financial services sectors.
- Lead on securing funding through grant applications, sponsorships, and innovative partnerships.
- Manage and inspire a small fundraising team, fostering collaboration and excellence.
- Represent JFF as a spokesperson at events and meetings, effectively communicating our mission and impact.

Location

About you
Experienced in managing sales teams and leading commercial operations, you will combine a track record within the publishing or editorial sector with innate flair for negotiating contracts and agreements. You will need to be adept at creating budgets and business plans, skilled in identifying and pursuing successful revenue streams, and familiar with using data to inform strategic decision-making. Confident reporting and presenting at Board level, as well as networking and engaging with stakeholders at all levels, you will have a demonstratable understanding of marketing and fundraising within the charity sector.
Although experience within the voluntary sector, or a membership organisation would be beneficial, it’s your commercial acumen, deep understanding of financial management and innate ability to forge profitable partnerships and build effective relationships that will be key to your success.
