Malvern Cube is an exciting volunteer led community and arts centre run by Malvern Youth and Community Trust, a registered charity.  At Malvern Cube, our mission is to offer an inclusive environment for Malvern people where they can come together and share a feeling of community.  We do this by:

We hire rooms to individuals, groups and clubs for educational, social and therapeutic purposes and our clientele are aged from 0 - 104!  Our annual footfall is around 3,000 (and growing!), and we have over 50 classes and activities running each week.  Our theatre space is well used by a variety of both well-known and amateur performers and we have three resident theatre groups.  We are proud of our in-house cafe, The Garden Cafe, which prepares nutritious, affordable and delicious food fresh on site every weekday, using locally sourced ingredients.  And our sister charity, Cube Youth, provides regular youth club activities and a Youth Café.

As well as our Centre Manager, the staff team includes our Administration Manager, caretaker and cafe staff.  We also have a great team of volunteers, and a strong Board of Trustees responsible for the governance of the charity. We receive no external funding and operate largely from hire income and successful applications for grant funding.

The role

As Centre Manager, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of this busy, vibrant community centre and engaging with the community and hirers to present a welcoming, friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Your role will include:

• promoting Malvern Cube and what it offers, developing and maintaining a strong community presence and ensuring that the facilities are well used and hire income is maximised.
• ensuring the effective robust financial management of Malvern Cube and providing regular financial reports to trustees.
• leading and developing the staff and volunteer teams
• contributing to the development of Malvern Cube's strategic plan and leading on key aspects of its implementation.
• day-to-day interface with centre users, hirers and the general public.

The role

We are looking for a Trusts and Grants Officer to play a crucial role in ensuring the ongoing success and expansion of our partnerships with trusts, foundations and statutory givers. Working closely with the Trusts and Grants Manager and four more team members, this new role will lead on nurturing low and mid-value relationships with prospective funders who have capacity to give ongoing funding to FareShare.

The Trusts and Grants and Officer will take on the management and stewardship of a diverse portfolio of four and five-figure funding relationships, while developing new partnerships with a range of givers and leading on prospecting for certain areas of our funder portfolio.

Main areas of responsibility

Build relationships with a portfolio of four and five-figure trust supporters, understanding their motivations and tailoring opportunities and communications to cultivate strong, long-lasting partnerships.

Foster a deep understanding of FareShare’s work and strategy to create persuasive fundraising proposals that inspire and solicit funds. This includes working closely with colleagues in the wider Fundraising team to build a sound understanding of FareShare operations and where support is most needed.

Supporting with the team’s prospecting process, using your own research and sector knowledge to identify new opportunities from identification through to solicitation.

Lead the Trusts & Grants and wider Fundraising team on specific projects within FareShare’s work, collaborating with colleagues across the organisation to gather information to inform fundraising activities.

Develop personalised stewardship plans to deepen funder relationships. Craft compelling written communications including emails, proposals, and reports to showcase the impact of trust support and celebrate key milestones. Support on and lead calls, meetings and visits to strengthen funder partnerships and engagement with our work.

Support the Trusts & Grants Manager and wider team as needed, especially in instances where a complex funding application requires more than one team member to complete.

Maintain accurate records of partner interactions in our CRM system and shared files, and consistently update financial records and account plans.

About this role

This new role, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, is an exciting opportunity to join our team who have been supporting adults with learning disabilities for almost 40 years. As we look to the future, we need to consider new opportunities to build partnerships and collaborations to build a strong, resilient network of third-sector organisations in Swindon and the surrounding area.

Main responsibilities

• Work with the trustees, staff, volunteers and members to develop and deliver against a Strategic Business Plan.

• To act as the lead relationship manager with partners on behalf of The Open Door Centre.

• Take responsibility for diversifying fundraising, grants and income streams in line with the strategy and business development plan, be proactive in developing new leads and connections.

The Senior Grants Manager will play a key role in managing the Foundation's grant-making efforts. You will have good relationship building skills and a high level of diplomacy and able to deliver in a fast-paced environment. You will be proficient in office software packages, including MS Office and Excel and confident working accurately with figures.

The role is based in a modern, vibrant office in Camden on the canal. You will initially work 4 days a week in the office with 1 day from home. Following a successful probation period, your working pattern will be a minimum of 3 days in the office with 2 days from home. There will be some evening events, and some travel involved nationally to visit grantees. • Substantial experience in leading programmes and funding functions, within a relevant not-for-profit setting (eg hospital or healthcare charity).

• Proven ability in managing and reporting the impact of charitable programmes to senior stakeholders and boards / committees.

• Deep understanding of the healthcare context, including political context, research and innovation environments, partnered with an understanding of the charity landscape.

• Strong strategic thinking with excellent leadership skills and experience in managing and developing others.

Who we're looking for:

With an enthusiasm and passion for the work of The Brain Tumour Charity you will have a strong understanding of medical research and its funding. You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), a keen eye for details and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. We also welcome applications from brain tumour relevant researchers, looking for a new direction.

Key accountabilities:

• Work with and assist the Research Team in the implementation of The Charity’s strategic goals and research strategy.
• Undertake research related projects as requested by the Chief Scientific Officer to further the aims of The Charity to transform the research landscape to support people in living longer, better lives following a brain tumour diagnosis.
• Assist with the continued development and maintenance of our research management database as an ongoing resource for future grant rounds, as well as for regular reporting and financial management of current grants.
• Support the administration of The Charity’s grant application, monitoring and review processes, including liaising with researchers and assessment panels.
• Support the peer reviewing of submitted proposals by identifying keywords in applications and expert reviewers for those areas, and ensuring reviews and scores are completed within strict deadlines.
• Organise and attend panel meetings including liaising with attendees and venues, preparing and distributing panel packs, and taking minutes and producing summaries where necessary.
• Monitor the progress of current grants through review of annual reports as well as regular engagement with The Charity’s funded researchers outside of reporting timelines.
• Financial monitoring of awarded grants and maintain accurate records of expenditure.
• Maintain accurate electronic records to track grant applications and awarded grants.
• Respond to enquiries about The Charity’s funded research, research strategy and calls for applications from researchers, the general public and colleagues within The Charity.
• Assist in ensuring the scientific accuracy of internal and external communications around the research programme, for example in feedback letters, mail outs, newsletters, website content and press releases.

The main purpose of this role is to oversee the design, development and delivery of CSE’s grant making to community organisations and to ensure that good practices are applied across our grant making activities. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing CSE’s grant making schemes through a combination of direct scheme management and by supporting schemes managed by other CSE staff (for example, by providing templates, guidance, quality checks, advice and relationship management). 

Pay and conditions

The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week).

The starting salary for the role will be £34,788. After your six-month probationary review, your salary may increase to between £35,934-£38,229 per annum.

• You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Designing and developing high-quality grant giving schemes for a range of stakeholders (e.g. community anchor organisations, voluntary community groups, individuals and larger organisations), that enable the realisation of CSE project and programme objectives.
• Make outbound calls to clients when required, such as booking home visits, and keeping client records up to date.
• Developing and implementing a clear set of practices, and making sure they are understood and adhered to, in order to identify, mitigate and monitor potential risks associated with our grant giving projects.
• Maintaining tailoring and adapting our standard documentation (for example, grant agreement template; application form; eligibility criteria; payment form) to different grant schemes, ensuring they meet the individual needs of each scheme and remain as accessible as possible.
• Ensuring efficient processes are in place for evidencing, instructing, and monitoring grant payments, administering payment processes (such as raising and/or checking grant payment requests with our finance team) and that you handle any personal data appropriately.
• Ensuring that high-quality and proportionate project management is in place across our portfolio of grant giving projects, that funders receive the updates and information they need, and grantees are well supported and able to deliver to their objectives efficiently.
• Support project teams with managing relationships directly with grant recipients, including by maintaining strong communications and acting as the main point of contact with CSE; collecting and collating monitoring data; celebrating successes; addressing concerns (for example with review meetings or action plans); escalating issues as appropriate.
• Facilitating learning, networking, and sharing between grantees, ensuring that effective monitoring, evaluation and learning practices are embedded within existing grant-making projects.
• Using learning and feedback to inform how CSE designs future grant programmes and ensure learning is shared effectively with funders with the aim of shaping the broader grant making sector.
• Staying up to date with developments in the grant making sector (including keeping abreast of legal obligations and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion practices), learning from others and continually improving and developing our systems and processes.

About the position

The GMS Support Manager will be responsible for leading on the day-to-day operations of the Freedom Fund’s new Salesforce Grant Management System. The project to develop the new GMS is currently in progress, with user training expected to take place in January 2025 and the Go Live planned for February 2025.  The transition to the new system will be a significant change in the organisation’s way of working; currently the Freedom Fund’s grant management process is manual and spread over multiple different platforms.

Initially, the focus of the role will be on supporting the Freedom Fund staff as they transition to using the new system, including assisting with user training and working with the implementation partner Hyphen8 to identify and resolve any issues that arise. Following Go Live, the GMS Support Manager will be responsible for leading on administration and maintenance of the system, requiring a good technical knowledge of how Salesforce works. The role will be responsible for user training and support, leading on staff consultation for future system developments and prioritising requests. The successful candidate will also act as the main point of contact between the Freedom Fund and implementation partner Hyphen8 for both ongoing support and future development phases. 

Responsibilities 

• Support the roll-out of the Freedom Fund’s new Grant Management System, including supporting Hyphen8 with user training and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the transition.

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Salesforce system; including system performance, change control and user support 

• Support the day-to-day administrative functions and configuration including user management, permissions, sharing rules, objects, fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, reports and dashboards 

• Be proactive in system maintenance including keeping up with Salesforce releases, features and best practices 

• Be the key point of contact between Freedom Fund and Hyphen8 

• Understand the Freedom Fund’s needs and work with Hyphen8 (as appropriate) and staff to meet changes 

• Decide how best to direct the core support hours provided by Hyphen8 during version upgrades in order to achieve the best results 

• Understand and own the Freedom Fund’s Salesforce architecture including the data model, integrations (including with the finance system), reporting and analytics 

• Maintain data quality by monitoring data and addressing the procedural issues which lead to loss of quality 

• Promote the use of Salesforce across the Freedom Fund, optimising the return on investment in this capability 

• Interpret and prioritise requests for GMS development and support 

• Work with colleagues across the Freedom Fund to understand business needs, finding a suitable mixture of support, challenge and direction to enable colleagues to get the most from the GMS 

• Deliver end user support and training to help colleagues use the system effectively 

• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and internal policies

• Train Freedom Fund IT Officer on core functionality of the new GMS

About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Grants Fundraiser to join our highly successful Grants team at an exciting time for WWT.

As Grants Fundraiser you will manage a wide funder portfolio of charitable trust, statutory and Lottery grant partners, with a combined value in excess of £1M and supporting a range of high-impact and innovative programmes across the UK. 

The Grants Team make a major contribution to raising critical funding for high-impact and innovative conservation, education and community-focussed programmes in the UK and internationally, raising in excess of £3M p/a. This is an exciting opportunity to maximise the potential of key relationships with a range of UK grant funders. The successful candidate will help influence the development of key projects to ensure projects are aligned with strategy and create compelling funding proposals. 

The role is a permanent full time position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role is based at our Slimbridge office and suitable for hybrid working, with around one to two days a week required in the office. Occasional travel will be required to sites or funder meetings, so a driver's licence is desirable.
