Battersea's Global Programmes Department are looking for passionate individuals to join the team as Grants and Programmes Associates.
The Grants and Programmes Associates will support the delivery of a portfolio of work within the Grants and Programmes function at Battersea. Each Associate will be assigned to a specific portfolio, either Greece, South Africa, Sri Lanka or Special Programmes. The Associate will work closely with and report to a Grants & Programmes Manager who leads the portfolio. This is an exciting time for Battersea as we expand our work to impact more dogs and cats.
Over the coming five years, it is planned that the size and complexity of grant making will grow, including the establishment of several multi-year programmes in the UK and abroad.
This is a grants management role within the Grants and Programmes team in the Global Programmes Directorate, requiring excellent experience of relationship, grant and project management. The successful postholder should be comfortable working as a team, with considerable scope, and complexity and nurturing relationships with colleagues across the organisation as an integral element of the role. The Associate would support a portfolio led by a Manager who would also be their line manager.

We are looking for a proactive, organised, and detail-oriented Finance & Operations Administrator to join our dedicated Operations Team.

Key Responsibilities
Finance Support
- Prepare weekly payment packs for review by our outsourced accountants.

Role overview

The Open Wing Alliance (OWA), a program of The Humane League, is a global coalition of approximately 90 animal protection organizations across 70+ countries united in a common goal: to end the abuse of chickens worldwide. For the past several years, we have focused our efforts on eliminating battery cages by securing cage-free policies from major retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers. OWA groups share tactics and resources to secure as many wins for animals as possible, specializing in institutional campaigning that can be tailored to our members’ unique circumstances and challenges.
As the Open Wing Alliance Grant Lead, you are accountable for overseeing the OWA’s grant and travel award programs, which provide funding to emerging farm animal protection groups around the world, empowering them to carry out cage-free and broiler campaign work. Your responsibilities include leading the grant application and review process, making funding recommendations, and regularly evaluating grantee progress. This position reports to the Senior OWA Projects Manager.
This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires domestic and international travel, equivalent to 3 or more trips per year.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the OWA’s annual grant cycle from start to finish; this includes collecting applications, leading the funding review process, consolidating feedback from the review team, and making funding recommendations. Conceive and implement improvements to the grant process to increase efficiency and impact.

Collaborate with OWA Regional Leads on the distribution of travel awards for each OWA summit, providing funding to assist OWA member groups with travel expenses.

The annual compensation range for this role is $68,473- $83,689 USD, or £38,203 - £46,692 GBP. At The Humane League, we believe in maintaining a fair and equitable work environment for all employees. The Senior Finance Manager is a new role at Bite Back and will lead our financial management, practices and policies. We are a relatively new non-profit, established in 2019, and have now grown to a staff team of nearly 30 people with a turnover of £2.3 million.

Responsibilities
The Senior Finance Manager is responsible for:
Statutory Reporting

Work alongside the Finance and Administrative Executive to support the Director with financial reporting for the audit in line with SORP regulations.

Job description
We are looking for a Partnerships & Membership Officer to join our dynamic team of 25 staff located across 3 offices (Geneva, London, and New York). The Partnerships and Membership team encompasses 4 staff members, and the Officer will report to NCDA’s Partnerships and Business Development Manager.
The Partnerships and Membership Officer will support the strategic growth of NCDA’s partnerships and membership in line with NCDA’s new strategy 2021-2026. The role will be responsible for supporting NCDA’s strategic engagement with members and partner NGOs by overseeing the delivery of related work plans and activities, supporting NCDA’s membership outreach strategies and delivery, reporting and M&E processes and business development.

Main duties and responsibilities
The main responsibilities for the role are:

Contribute to NCDA’s partnership and membership growth, by supporting annual plans and activities.

Supports strategic engagement with NCDA’s existing partners and members by providing prospect research and due diligence, tracking of relevant data and information on CRM systems.

Manages and liaises with partners to deliver bilateral plans and activities, maintaining constructive relationships and proactively seeking partnership alignment.

Supports partners and members reporting, monitoring and evaluation efforts, ensuring documents are prepared and submitted on time, including NCDA Supporters Events and Publications Calendar, Membership Bulletin, and Communications promotional plans and products.

Supports Membership administrative and project management activities in consultation with the Membership team as appropriate.

Assists in the planning and delivery of relevant partners events in line with NCDA’s new strategy.

Coordinates the delivery of communications activities and products, including the Global Week for Action on NCDs campaign.

Schedules and coordinates team meetings, prepares agendas, and captures notes as appropriate.

Collaborates across the NCDA team (particularly working with Communications, Policy and Advocacy, and Capacity Development) to implement NCDA’s partnership and membership strategy to ensure compliance, in consultation with supervisor as appropriate.

Conducts prospect research and due diligence on prospective supporters, utilizing NCDA’s due diligence and Conflict of Interest policies
Skills and competencies
Essential:
-
Relevant bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a related field, ideally in an NGO or membership organisation.

1 year of membership or partnership experience, relevant administrative or professional work experience including one year of project management.

Highly organised and detail-oriented, with ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands to meet team’s deadlines and objectives.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment and liaise with a diverse array of collaborators, consultants, and stakeholders from across the globe.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; strong cross-cultural communication and sensitivity skills.

Demonstrated experience following standard policies and procedures, receiving general instruction and supervision, and contributing to deliverables and initiatives.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international team environment.

Strong knowledge of MS Office applications and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).

Fluent in English (spoken and written).

You will be integral in all programme management, partnership management, and administrative tasks across UK Programmes. About you
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience of supporting and working alongside delivery partners
- Advanced knowledge of and experience using Microsoft platforms (excel, PPT, SharePoint, teams) and CRM databases
- Experience in providing administrative support on programmes, including reporting, compliance tasks and supporting delivery teams
- Demonstrable knowledge of monitoring and evaluation processes
- Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by people with experience of forced migration in accessing employment
- Strong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy when handling data, preparing reports and scheduling
