The Role
The Volunteering Support Officer is a new role and will work as part of a small friendly team. They will be the lead administrator for the Early Careers Forum and the Global Haematology Special Interest Group (SIG). The post holder will work with volunteers to arrange and minute meetings and prepare agendas and papers for distribution. They will be responsible for SIG webpages and co-ordinating ebulletins to keep members up to date with SIG activities.
The post holder will recruit volunteers for committees and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) following our governance rules. You will act as the main point of contact for volunteering queries and ensure volunteers’ records and SIG membership are up to date using subscriber database.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, both verbally and written. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise workload. You will have experience of organising and minuting meetings, updating website pages, using a database and GDPR experience and awareness.
Please note, although this role is hybrid you will be required to be office based as and when the business requires. You will also have to occasionally travel and stay away from home to support volunteers’ meetings including at our ASM which includes weekend working.

Citizens Advice Hounslow is a well-established charity operating in the London Borough of Hounslow, supporting over 15,000 clients a year. We have an exciting new opportunity in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to provide welfare advice to support to people affected by cancer and those who care for them.
This post is funded by Macmillan Cancer Support and is aimed at assisting clients on the phone and in person from our offices and outreach venues including local hospitals.
Role purpose:
To provide welfare benefits advice, casework, and assistance in accessing other financial sources, to maximise the income of those living with cancer, their families, and carers. This may include disability benefits and other sources of financial support such as grants and help with health and travel costs.
Training
Successful post holders who are new to cancer, will be provided with Macmillan specific welfare benefits community of practice and learning opportunities once in post.
Delivery locations
A key aspect of the project is to deliver an outreach service at the West Middlesex Hospital, our offices in Hounslow and the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, with regular sessions to be covered by the team of advisers. Clients will also be seen in person for appointments at our offices, while telephone advice and video appointments can be done working remotely.
Main responsibilities
- To provide welfare benefits advice, casework, and assistance in accessing other financial sources to maximise the income of those living with cancer, their families, and carers.
- Assist clients to challenge benefits decisions.
- Liaise and negotiate with other statutory and voluntary organisations to progress the client’s case and ensure they receive all assistance available.
- Achieve good outcomes for clients by helping them access benefits, grants, discretionary payments, schemes and discounts.
- Maintain detailed electronic case records and other data for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation.
- Make internal referrals or signpost clients to other organisations as appropriate for specialist help with issues that fall outside the remit of the Macmillan service, including housing, debt, and employment.
- Interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills so that clients feel able to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.
- Collaborate with managers and colleagues to ensure the promotion, development and good working of the Macmillan project.

Summary
To manage the development of LE’s Aftercare programme to ensure its successful delivery against a range of desired outcomes for individuals, communities and our organisation. Our Aftercare programme is for adults, children and young people who have received Counselling from Listening Ear to help them cope with bereavement, separation & loss, domestic abuse and/or stress & anxiety. Our Aftercare beneficiaries benefit from ongoing support in a group context with support from experienced Counsellors. We run a number of Aftercare groups, all at different stages of development, and have recently been awarded funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for a period of just over four years. This will enable us to develop, evaluate and embed a more consistent Aftercare approach that is informed by our beneficiaries.
We are looking for an experienced Projects & Partnerships Manager, with a passion for providing effective services for people of all ages who face challenges with their mental health. You will work with our amazing team of Counsellors (who deliver the Aftercare groups) and with Aftercare beneficiaries and potential beneficiaries to plan, manage and evaluate an ongoing Aftercare programme, including positive activities. You will be responsible for managing a project budget of up to £30,000 per annum.
Job Purpose
- To gain a full understanding of the needs and interests of Aftercare beneficiaries (and potential beneficiaries) through regular consultation using a variety of methods.
- To work with our Aftercare delivery team to design a programme of positive activities that will help beneficiaries connect, take notice, keep learning, stay active and give (The Five Ways to Wellbeing). The programme will be informed by regular consultation with beneficiaries and will be delivered online and face to face dependent on the group.
- To research and identify appropriate external activity providers, supporting them to deliver high quality experiences that achieve outcomes against the Five Ways to Wellbeing and are safe, inclusive and appropriately resourced within budget.
- To ensure that all external providers, activities, venues and equipment are risk assessed and that appropriate mitigations are in place to manage and minimise risk.
- To ensure that all required materials and resources are purchased and posted to participants in advance of online activity sessions.
- To ensure that all Aftercare opportunities are communicated to potential beneficiaries in a timely and effective manner, maximising engagement and attendance through supportive reminders.
- To directly support the delivery of face-to-face Emotional Youth Club sessions, which take place on one Saturday of every month, usually in the Knowsley or St Helens areas, always involving a positive activity. You will do this alongside a team of two trained Counsellors and the selected Activity Provider.
- To work with colleagues in Operations to ensure the right systems are in place to monitor and evaluate our desired outputs and outcomes, using a CRM system (Lamplight) for which training will be provided.
- To ensure that Aftercare delivery staff understand and are fully recording the required monitoring and evaluation information.
- To convene a regular (monthly and later quarterly) Aftercare Project Team involving staff of LE, circulating agendas, distributing notes and actions and supporting their input as required.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hub Administrative Assistant to work alongside our Hub Team Administrator for a fixed-term, from January 2025 until June 2025. This role will support our Community Work Manager with the administration necessary to deliver our community work. This currently includes two food pantry sessions a week, and a combined pop-up pantry and Living Room (warm space) session each week.
Key responsibilities of this role will be:
· To process applications to hub projects and manage communication with project members.
· To co-ordinate volunteer communications.
· To create and manage volunteer rotas.
· To ensure team leaders have all relevant information for each session.
· To ensure data is populated and managed accurately, and according to GDPR requirements.
The successful post holder must have:
· Excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
· Proven people skills and experience in relation to community work or the charity sector.
· Able to liaise with staff and volunteers from external organisations at all levels.

Based in the Hurtado Jesuit Centre in Wapping, East London, JRS UK supports refugees and asylum seekers in the UK and works in wider collaboration with JRS offices around the world.

Conservation Collective (CC) funds solutions to protect the environment, restore nature, and safeguard against climate change. The CC UK charity incubates, launches, and supports locally focused foundations, which open new funding channels to support the most impactful environmental grassroots projects. Our network comprises 20 members based all over the world and is growing.
We manage and monitor our donor relations, grant giving governance, contacts, and event activities, via a bespoke and customised salesforce system. This was launched in early 2022, and has been developed and configured to meet our growing needs since then.
As the demand for our model increases around the world, we need a highly capable Salesforce and data administrator to support us to ensure our system is well managed, users are trained, and we can create accurate reports for our donors and other audiences. We’re looking for someone who can not only ensure that the existing system works well and is well managed, but who can identify opportunities for improvement and help us generate high-quality reports from the system to help us to raise more funding to support grassroots conservation work.
The role will report to the Finance Director and will work closely with the rest of the team in the UK and around the world, it is a critical role that is central to the success of our global network, and there is lots of scope for an ambitious candidate to grow in responsibility with it.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee Salesforce System: maintenance, training, development, and reporting
