Key Responsibilities

• Line management of a team of mental health professionals and of trainees based in schools.
• Contract management (Large NHS contract)

• Holding relationships with all key stakeholders (NHS partners, ICB, Schools, Local Authority, university partners)
• Ensuring service meets or exceeds all targets.
• Building on an existing programme and expanding the service into new schools using learning so far.

• At least 3 years’ experience of managing a complex service supporting young people with a variety of needs, ideally within a mental health context 
• A passion for supporting and developing staff 
• A commitment to improving the lives of young people living in our boroughs through high-quality mental health support. 
• Experience of working on (ideally managing) a commissioned service within a Third Sector Organisation 
• Ability to engage and maintain relationships (e.g. with schools, commissioners)
• Experienced in delivering a service within budget and meeting all KPIs and contract requirements.
• Skilled in working closely with colleagues (e.g.Clinical Lead) and clearly sharing roles and responsibilities.
• Having a creative approach to problem solving and developing the service to meet the needs of diverse young people, families and schools.

You will secure ANT financially and drive forward innovative new commercial opportunities, helping to deliver on our goals to plant hundreds of thousands of trees and complementary habitats. Immediate commercial opportunities include natural capital sales, ethical investing, business model development for Landscape Recovery in the Lower Chew and development of ANT’s ecotourism trading arm.

Main responsibilities
● Lead on ANT’s overall commercial development strategy to ensure long term financial viability and sustainability of the charity

Somerset Environmental Records Centre Manager

For almost 40 years Somerset Environmental Records Centre (SERC) has been the focal organisation for holding data on wildlife sightings, types of habitats and geological information for Somerset.

This is an exciting time for SERC as we drive forward in a mission to have at least 30% of land managed positively for nature by 2030 (30 x 30). We are looking for an experienced and ambitious manager to implement the strategy and grow and manage the SERC Team, whilst positioning SERC as the ‘go to’ ecological data evidence provider for an increasing range of stakeholders in the county.

Job Description – Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Strategy and Business Development:

The SERC Manager will be part of the Operational Management Team of the Somerset Wildlife Trust, supporting the Senior Leadership Team through clear strategy and business development by:

• Developing and overseeing the strategic growth, business planning and operational management of SERC.
• Ensuring SERC is financially sustainable and growing by seeking income generating opportunities to develop SERC business, identifying additional markets and services, and developing and implementing a Business Plan.
• Positioning SERC as the ‘go to’ ecological data evidence provider for the county and leading the marketing and communications to drive this forward.
• Ensuring SERC has capability and resource to achieve commitments through Service Level Agreements, ensuring that SERC is having a positive contribution to planning and policy across the county.
• Overseeing the development and delivery of the Somerset State of Nature Report, ensuring the team can analyse and interpret data to establish trends and identify where action for nature recovery needs to occur as the process for monitoring delivery of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Somerset.

Responsibility 1: Data Analysis and Services

Manage a robust data collection and interpretation service by:

• Establishing customer requirements, including researching and monitoring of users’ needs.
• Ensuring high quality information underpins data searches to enable effective planning decisions
• Overseeing the work programmes in data capture, entry, management, analysis, interpretation and dissemination to support evidence driven decision-making.
• Negotiating SLAs with key existing and new service users.

Responsibility 2: SERC Team Management

Achieve the aims of the Business Plan agreed with SERC Executive Group and Somerset Wildlife Trust through:

• Managing the SERC team in the setting of objectives, considering succession, priorities and work programmes to ensure high quality, efficient and timely delivery of projects and services to users.
• Developing and applying Local Records Centre protocols and policies, meeting the requirements of data users and providers, as well as professional codes of conduct and the promotion of national standards, through achieving ALERC accreditation.
• Keeping abreast of and contributing to political and technical developments in biodiversity data management and make presentations of SERC’s work and national policy development to appropriate audiences.
• Receiving and resolving complaints and representations about SERC services from data users and providers.
• Setting and managing budgets, risks and issues.

Responsibility 3: Develop though Advocacy, Influence and Delivery

Be a specialist and nurture strong relationships by:

• Developing excellent relationships with national and local recording communities and support them to contribute high quality useful data that informs an evidence-led strategy to improve Somerset’s natural environment.
• Coordinating the SERC Executive Group to deliver and monitor an effective strategy for the Records Centre that provides usable data for planners, Service Level Agreement holders and working with Somerset Wildlife Trust, in the provision of a conservation strategy for the county.
• Setting data access parameters to secure the SERC business model while making data as open access as possible.
• Developing secure funding and commercial income streams, and manage SERC project-based work, meeting the aims of an agreed Business Plan and Somerset Wildlife Trust’s strategy.

Solent Mind delivers Wellbeing services across Hampshire, including Eastleigh, Winchester, Fareham and Gosport, and the New Forest. This post is based in the New Forest (Hythe and New Milton). The Magic Club (CIO) is a charity in Claremont, Blackpool, working with young people aged 7-16 to support them to thrive; increasing skills, accessing new opportunities, developing relationships and having loads of fun. We currently deliver youth club sessions four evenings each week in term time from our own venue, offering a diverse and high quality range of activities and project work. We also deliver detached youth work, Duke of Edinburgh and Arts Award programmes, AQAs, trips, residentials, holiday programmes, 1-2-1 and small group work, projects and youth volunteering, all served up with really tasty food. Alongside this we work with our parents and carers, wider community and partners to ensure we do whatever we can to support young people to thrive.

We are recruiting for a Senior Youth (Support) Worker to join our small, friendly team. We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled colleague, with the vision, knowledge and commitment to lead on the delivery of our curriculum, projects, club sessions and activities with, and for, the young people of Claremont.

You will support our team of youth support workers, volunteers and Peer Educators, helping them to use their knowledge and experience for the benefit of our members. You will develop relationships and partnerships within the community to develop further support and opportunities for young people. You will also support the evaluation of our work, ensuring we are continually meeting the needs and interests of young people.

We will accept applications from JNC qualified workers or for individuals who are willing to complete a funded Level 6 qualification whilst working with us (the salary bands reflect payments for unqualified and qualified individuals). In either case we would require a Senior Youth Worker with comprehensive experience of working with young people and has experience of supervising teams of staff and volunteers.

We are a little biased, but we think the best part of the role is working with some of the most brilliant young people in Blackpool. This role will be pivotal in supporting the charity to further develop our offer for our young people, ensuring it is high-quality, meets the needs of our members and makes a big impact. About the Project: 

Another Way is a bespoke project that specifically targets young people between the ages of 14 and 21 who are involved in or affected by criminal exploitation/or serious youth violence and those who are at serious risk of becoming involved. The key deliverable is the late-night sessions from 9pm to 12am+ where we provide a safe space at a time when young people are typically at most risk. The service provides young people with a platform to build positive relationships, engage in a range of positive activities, cook and eat together and access educational and employment pathways.

▪ You will be responsible for managing and developing our suite of programs aimed at reducing youth violence where we operate. 

▪ You will lead a team who will engage individuals at risk through a late-night safe-space provision, detached street work and other interventions alongside referral routes created with other agencies. 

▪ You will be responsible for managing this high-risk project as safely as possible working closely with, and supported by, the leadership team. 

▪ You are able to build relationships with other local partners and community services to gain knowledge of target areas. 

▪ You are able to attend external meetings and stakeholder events to promote the work of the programme and foster opportunities for collaboration and further development. 

▪ You will provide regular updates from the program for both internal and external audiences. Regular meetings will take place with key keyholders such as the police, gang units, community teams and others. 

▪ You will be responsible for the recording, monitoring and evaluation of the work within the prescribed framework. 

▪ You will coordinate and undertake training, team meetings, supervision and staff appraisals. 

▪ Other duties commensurate with the post and the needs of the organisation. 

▪ - Serve as an integral member of the safeguarding team, ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals. 

▪ - Assist in the development and implementation of safeguarding policies, procedures, and practices, aligning with local regulations and best practices. 

▪ - Stay informed on current safeguarding issues and trends, providing training and guidance to staff and volunteers on safeguarding protocols. 

Required Qualification and Experience: 

• An enhanced DBS check is required for this role to ensure the safety and protection of all young individuals in our care. 
• Strong and verifiable track-record of working with challenging and vulnerable young people. 
• Strong and verifiable track-record of project managing high impact programmes. 
• Strong and verifiable track-record of managing delivery teams successfully. 
• Experience of community outreach working in a similar setting. 
• Full UK Driving License. 

Desirable qualifications and Experience: 

• Mini-bus Driver’s Licence (MiDAS etc.). 
• Educated to Degree Level. 
• An awareness of current issues affecting the local communities in London.

JOB SUMMARY

The post holder will managing and lead the effective high quality delivery of the Grief Encounter therapeutic services, including online services, through a team of Therapists, Clinical Supervisors, placement students and volunteers.

They will assist the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) in implementing and developing the therapeutic element including intensive therapeutic support, projects, budgets and service planning. This will include:

• Leading, implementing and developing therapeutic projects and service planning.
• Managing Grief Encounter therapists, supervisors, volunteers and placement students.
• Conducting assessments with families, supporting practitioners with complex cases in liaison with supervisors and delivering training.
• Ensuring appropriate safeguarding policies and guidance are being adhered to across all services, responding to safeguarding concerns and ensuring practitioners understand their safeguarding responsibilities.
• Working with the Bereavement Support Team to ensure the efficient and appropriate management of referral pathways.

About You

To fulfil this role, we are looking for an exceptional leader with a CIH Level 5 Diploma in Housing / an appropriate professional qualification.

What We Offer

Actual salary is £38,400 – 44,800 p.a. (pro rata) based on a 4-day week (28 hrs p.w.)

This role is based at our head office in Solihull, plus Agile / Homeworking. The role requires operational travel within the Solihull borough; therefore, the successful candidate will need a full driving licence.
