We are looking for a Shop Manager to join our Retail Team, at our Castle Bromwich Shop. 

As Shop Manager you will help and support the Retail Area Manager by developing, leading, and motivating your team of staff and volunteers, ensuring that sales and targets are achieved and surpassed; motivate your team to deliver fantastic customer service, meeting performance targets and working continually to improve the work of the Hospice.

The role will involve ensuring that stock is displayed well and is sorted correctly, ensuring the shop and stockroom is always kept clean and tidy.  You will actively encourage donations and saleable goods, and ensure stock is prepared for display/selling, ensuring all goods are appropriately sized and priced.

You will lead a team, developing and training of staff and volunteers, and be responsible for ensuring that appropriate rotas are in place to ensure the efficient running and income maximisation of the shop.

In this role you’ll be both strategic and hands-on, solely managing the financial controls for this small charity with a £350k annual turnover.  You will support the Director and senior management team through your management of financial processes, policy and planning.

About the Role

This new role within the Operations Directorate will manage our existing portfolio of national skills competitions, work with the wider team and network to develop our offering to ensure we are aligned with the UK economic priorities. You will have experience of the technical and vocational education and training or apprenticeship systems, be proactive and able to engage with a range of stakeholders.

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the national competition programme is delivered to a high standard, ensuring a collaborative approach to its development and delivery, in partnership with education and industry

Key tasks and responsibilities:

1. Management of a portfolio of national skills competitions across a range of industry sectors:

Develop knowledge and understanding of each competition and their operational needs and requirements, through meetings (one-to-one and group), with competition organising partners (COPs), educators and industry.

• Provide technical and operational advice, guidance, and support on competition delivery to internal teams, partners, and external stakeholders in education and industry.

• Undertake mid-year and annual reviews of competition organising partners (COPs) and continually seek to develop efficient quality procedures.

• Support competition organising partners (COPs) to understand programme requirements and produce key documentation to a consistent high quality and standard, submitted to agreed timeframes

2. Management of all contracts and processes associated with WorldSkills UK’s network of competition organising partners (COP’s):

Implement the competitions organising partner (COP) quality assurance and continuous improvement model and monitoring framework, to ensure the programme runs effectively through contract compliance and that key milestones are met and risks are mitigated.

• Quality assure and sign off key competition deliverables and milestones, reporting and tracking progress on centralised monitoring systems.

• Carry out monthly catch up and bi-annual reviews of competition organising partners (COPs) and support them to continually improve programme delivery resulting in a high-quality, innovative competitions and a positive competitor experience. Page 7 of 10

• Provide development support to delivery partners to raise the standard and quality of competitions delivered within their footprint, in collaboration with the Quality and Standards team. This also includes organising sector-based cluster meetings for competition organising partners to foster greater collaboration and collect, synthesise and exchange information and best practice pertinent to their particular industry or sector.

• Ensure monitoring and reporting systems are accurate and kept up to date.

• Work with the Corporate Partnerships team to manage competitions funded through an investment model.

3. Support the development of new skills competitions:

• Review, assess and implement initiatives that create future-proof skills competitions that are sustainable, responsive to employer needs and provide greater alignment to UK economic priorities.

4. Project management:

• Take ownership of allocated projects within the Operations directorate ensuring all deviations from targets (time, money, people etc.) are identified and addressed at the earliest possible stage.

• Effectively coordinate resources (including agencies, suppliers, contractors) so that all project elements are delivered to acceptable standards on time, to budget, and meet the required specification(s)/objective(s).

5. General

What will your typical day involve? 

You will ensure compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety. Who are we looking for? 

The ideal candidate must be a Registered General Nurse or RMN with a recognised management qualification or degree. You should also have experience in staff training, quality process management, managing diseases among older people, budget management, and project management. Experience at H/I grade level in the NHS, clinical audit, and dementia service development is required. 

You must have up-to-date knowledge of clinical and social care for older people, relevant legislation, and nurse registration requirements. Key skills include strategic thinking, staff motivation, effective communication with residents and colleagues, and the ability to manage workloads and policies. Proficiency in care planning and computer use is also required.

The successful candidate will lead the development, planning and delivery of a sustainable outsourced lottery programe that delivers against income and ROI targets and oversee the management and continuous optimisation of the CRM System (Donorflex) which incorporates all data for fundraising, communications and engagement purposes.

Candidates will have significant experience in customer service, ideally within a not-for-profit or commercial setting. They will also have a sound knowledge of fundraising compliance and best practice, GDPR and gambling commission regulations.

Our flagship superstore in Harborne, Birmingham, Reloved Brum is seeking to appoint a Floor Manager, who will support the Retail Area Manager and Superstore Manager through being responsible for the day-to-day operations of the shopfloor.

In this new, exciting role, you will be responsible for a range of key activities, such as visual merchandising, stock rotation and health and safety.  You will supervise and coach shop staff and volunteers.  You will drive and maximise sales to meet and exceed targets, ensure the shop is up to brand standards at all times.  Additionally, you will be responsible for opening and closing procedures, as well as till operation, making sure that all monies are recorded, secure and banked.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

Working alongside two other Advice and Support Managers, this role will share responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of Independent Age’s new Advice and Support Service, and lead on Evaluation and Impact. The service is delivered by telephone, email and webchat and involved a duty service, appointments and casework, targeted at older people in or facing financial hardship. We give information, advice and support to a specialist level, relating to Welfare Benefits, Social Care, Housing and other issues.

As Evaluation and Impact lead, you will be responsible for data collection and reporting, outcome and impact measurement, case studies and providing evidence to our Policy and Influencing colleagues. 

You should have experience of managing a high-volume telephone-based information or advice service and strong leadership skills to create a work environment where people can thrive. You will have experience of working within an advice context (ideally AQS accredited) and knowledge of the main issues affecting older people.

Salary information:

Hybrid working in London: £43,812 per year, increasing to £45,019 after 6 months and to £46,227 after 12 months. 

Homebased (with regular travel to London): £39,454 per year, increasing to £40,530 after 6 months and to £41,607 after 12 months.

Working to a new Fundraising strategy with ambitious plans for growth, the Public Fundraising Manager will help us reach the next level in our income generation.

The role will combine direct responsibility for the retention and growth of our Individual Giving income streams (regular giving, lottery, appeals) with leadership and support of our other public facing income streams (community, legacy and in memory giving).

As the most experienced fundraiser in the team, the role will work closely with the Head of Fundraising to deliver on the Fundraising strategy, managing the team in an empowering way to motivate and inspire the team to drive income.

Exciting opportunity for a Risk & Audit Manager to join a global international development Organisation to improve the internal audit and risk management processes. To lead the function and push the department to a higher level.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Develop and execute an annual internal audit plan, prioritising audit activities based on identified risks and strategic objectives.
• Ensure that audits are carried out and documented in accordance with recognised auditing standards, gathering robust evidence to support findings.
• Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the organisations risk management framework.
• Maintain and update the organisation’s risk register, ensuring regular review and assessment of risks.
• Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, Compliance, and Governance, work closely with the Programmes and Fundraising teams to oversee the compliance function.
• Ensure donor compliance, including adherence to all donor requirements and regulations.

Who are we looking for?

• Professional qualification, such as a Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIA) certification or full CCAB qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA).
• Proven experience in risk management and internal audit, ideally within an international NGO or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and internal audit methodologies.
