The Associate Director for Safeguarding is an integral role in which you will work collaboratively with the Executive Director for People and Culture and other colleagues across the College to develop our organisational safeguarding strategy and action plan, to promote a culture in which the safeguarding of children, young people and adults at risk is at the core of our delivery of services in both our domestic and global programmes.
As Associate Director for Safeguarding, you will play an active role to ensure that our safeguarding processes, reporting mechanisms, points of escalation and learning programme for College staff are of the highest quality.
Reporting to the Executive Director for People and Culture, you will work key individuals to design and deliver a programme of continuing professional development around safeguarding processes and delivery. You will provide support and appropriate challenge where required at all levels of the College, ensuring robust reporting procedures are in place for managing safeguarding concerns for both direct and indirect delivered activities.
You will also work with external agencies, support organisations and referral pathways to establish effective working relationships, ensuring external knowledge provides continual challenge to the internal delivery of safeguarding and takes into account wider best practice.
With a good standard of education, perhaps with a social work or related qualification, you should have significant current experience of delivering safeguarding services in a range of settings and across diverse communities. You should also have experience of implementing change within safeguarding settings. You will be values driven, a good team player, with effective influencing and persuading skills, demonstrating an empathic approach regarding the work and workload of others and have the ability to empower colleagues to be effective within all aspects of safeguarding practice.
You should also have an understanding of safeguarding in an in-person, digital and or online delivery environment and be flexible and open to alternative approaches to problem solving, providing suggestions and ideas for change and improvement.
Proven experience of researching and producing high quality written reports, briefings, presentations and information along with the ability to set out and discuss complex issues clearly for a range of audiences, is essential.
This role will require a DBS check and is not exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Worldwide Veterinary Service is searching for an experienced and ambitious manager to lead the growth of our global education programme
This is an ideal role for an experienced project manager who wants to make lasting improvements to the lives of children and animals around the world.
Reporting to the Director of Policy at global animal welfare charity, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), you will help grow and develop education programmes that protect children from key zoonotic disease and improve the relationship between animals and people.
One child dies from rabies every 10 minutes. Most victims are under the age of 15. Rabies is 100% fatal, but entirely vaccine preventable. Children just need the right information to protect themselves. WVS established Mission Rabies, a campaign that aims to eliminate rabies for good, in 2013. We have worked hard to reach 9.6 million children worldwide, but around half of the world’s 2 billion children at this age still live in rabies endemic countries. You will manage national education managers based across Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America to spread our core messages to a wider audience. This is essential if we are to deliver our goal to halve the number of people dying from rabies in the next 5 years.
We need someone who is ambitious, driven and wants the opportunity to make a difference by significantly growing their own programme of work.
As an organisation we are embracing hybrid working, and remote working within the UK could be considered for this role. At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.
We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi and the Galápagos Islands. We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world.
Last year, WVS treated over 103,000 animals, trained over 2,800 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 1,042 parcels of veterinary supplies to 231 charities in 65 countries. Over 1.2 m dogs were vaccinated against rabies last year as part of our Mission Rabies campaign.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, oversee, and develop our education and behaviour change campaigns in Asia, Africa and Latin America
- Work with education leads in country to ensure that targets are being met and quality is being adhered to.
- Work effectively with local and international stakeholders and government partners to seek out new opportunities in target countries and represent WVS.
- Identify potential partner organisations, initiate and maintain communications
- Work closely with colleagues to provide technical advice and implementation assistance to Mission Rabies and WVS projects around the world.
- Ensure teams are reporting accurately and adhering to monitoring mechanisms.
- Write strong project reports and proposals.
- Act as Deputy Safeguarding Officer and ensure compliance with national and international obligations and regulations.
- Provide regular updates to the UK head office and the global teams.
- Undertake field visits in support of this work.
- Any other duties as required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 10+ years in project or campaign management, preferably in an animal welfare, public health, humanitarian and/or international development capacity.

- Experience in fundraising, and budget management skills
- Experience of working with grassroots networks, social movements, and/or in networks at a national or international level,
- Track record of developing, implementing and monitoring international campaign strategies based on local needs, which have delivered long term political change.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English,
- Conversational in French and/or Spanish
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.

- Stakeholder and Partnership Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with partner organisations, research consultants, advisory groups, and other stakeholders. - Consultant Recruitment and Team Leadership: Recruit, onboard, and manage a dynamic team of external research consultants, providing training, capacity strengthening, and quality control of their outputs. Ensure effective internal communication, project planning, and risk management.
- Report Production and Dissemination: Develop compelling, evidence-based reports in collaboration with professional writers, data visualisation experts, and designers. About the Role
The purpose of this role is to lead the delivery of the Climate Change Aim. The incumbent will provide technical support and oversight and lead in achieving its influencing outcomes. The position-holder will lead and/or facilitate the development of quality, impactful, inclusive and innovative strategy and programmes on WASH and Climate Change and provide technical guidance and advice in their delivery. The incumbent will achieve this through a programmatic approach combining field-based programmes with learning, research and advocacy initiatives and work in collaborative partnerships with various stakeholders in the public and private spheres, including civil society organizations, National and Local Governments in East Africa and the private sector.
WASH and Climate Programme development:
- Provide contextualised support in climate proofing of the ongoing WaterAid East Africa (WAEA) programmes.
- Analyse the evolving political economy of climate-resilient WASH to guide WAEA for adaptive programming and planning.
- Support WAEA in developing the capacity of the relevant staff and partners on Climate change, water security and its links with WASH.
- Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive climate-resilient WASH five-year strategy for the East African region, considering local climate challenges, vulnerabilities, and available resources.
Technical and operational support for programme implementation
- Provide technical and operational support to CPs, NGO partners and other relevant actors to implement WASH and Climate programmes
- Identify technical gaps and use WaterAid ‘’Build-Borrow-Buy’’ approach to increase capacities of CPs on WASH and Climate
- Participate on behalf of the Regional Team in WASH and Climate Change programme meetings to review progress, share WaterAid's good practices and models, and provide expert advice and guidance.
- Develop policy papers, briefs and other strategic materials for use by CPs and the Regional Team for advocacy and policy influencing purposes.
Innovation, Programme Learning for sustainability and Influencing
- Ensure the capture and documentation of Climate Change and WASH models and practices for influencing WASH and Climate Change policy and practice.
- Support the development and delivery of robust advocacy strategies necessary for integrating WASH in Climate Change process, plans and strategies at different levels (using analysis of published documents, research, public debates and WaterAid’s own country programme experience).
- Advocate for policies and practices that promote climate-resilient WASH at the regional, national, and local levels and provide technical input to relevant policies and guidelines.
Sector engagement and networking
- As delegated by the Region, represent WaterAid in relevant national CSO, donor, and government forums related to Climate Change and WASH to influence the thinking of other stakeholders, persuasively advocate for WaterAid’s WASH and Climate Change agenda and build WaterAid’s reputation as a sector leader.
- Represent WaterAid in regional and global processes and debates on climate change especially on Climate Change and WASH.
Requirements
To be successful, you’ll need:
- A Master’s degree in Climate Change, Environmental Studies, Water Resource Management, or Climate Financing.
- 10+ years’ experience in climate-related programming at a senior level.
- Strong expertise in WASH, water resource management, and climate adaptation.
- Proven ability to develop and lead policy and advocacy strategies.
- Experience in securing climate funding and developing donor proposals.
- Strong networking and partnership building skills across governments, NGOs, and agencies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with fluency in English.
- Willingness to travel regularly within East Africa and occasionally beyond.
Desirable:
- Experience influencing government climate policies and integrating WASH into climate change strategies.
- Proven ability to innovate and drive climate action at scale.

Summary of the role:
As the Trust and Foundation Coordinator, you will support the International Programmes Department (IPD) by:
- Programme Development: Enhancing institutional funding to raise essential funds for Muslim Aid’s international humanitarian and development programmes through Trusts, Foundations, and Partner Offices.
- Quality Assurance: Assisting the MEAL Manager in developing and implementing effective MEAL systems to ensure quality service delivery across all programmes.
You will play a crucial role in this newly formed unit, working closely with partners, country offices, and donors to improve systems within the IPD and support the dynamic global programme portfolio of Muslim Aid.
About the Role:
- Lead donor mapping process for Trusts and Foundations. Continuously, update this mapping document regularly based on engagement with prospective donors.
- Lead the proposal/concept development process for T&F and MA Partner offices submissions.
- Support the Global Programme Development and Quality Assurance Manager in managing a portfolio of institutional donor grants relationships and implement donor engagement strategies for prioritised donors (including FCDO, UN agencies, USAID, SIDA, START Network, etc.).
- Support the Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Manager to strengthen MEAL system globally. This includes ensuring high-quality data tracking progress, analysing data, and generating knowledge and documentation of best practices.
- Work with Country Offices, Global Programme Development and Quality Assurance, Humanitarian and Programme units to support on disaster responses and associated appeals.
- Support the unit in providing the development and implementing capacity development workshops for the IPD team, country offices, and partner offices either face to face or virtually.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Educated to bachelor’s degree level.
- Experience of successfully fundraising and dealing with institutional donors and international donors with a focus on Trusts and Foundations.
- Experience and understanding of monitoring and evaluation of programmes; using quantitative and qualitative research data collected in support of programme development.
- Significant experience and knowledge of effective budgetary control and grant management.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with people at various levels. Good tact and diplomacy at all times.
- Strong and well-developed analytical skills coupled with strong bid and report writing skills.

- Lead engagement on behalf of WaterAid in a range of networks and coalitions, in particular in the area of health, gender and climate

Requirements
To be successful, you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree in European affairs, development, economics, international relations or a related field, or relevant work experience.
- At least 1-2 years working in the EU advocacy and policy space, ideally in a non-profit and/or in EU institutions. Experience working at the European Parliament particularly desirable.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to synthesise complex policy documents and translate these for a wider audience.
- Experience of managing events desirable.

About the Role:
The Water Security Lead is responsible for delivering WaterAid’s water security programming by providing strategic leadership, technical expertise, and innovative solutions. The role supports programme design, implementation, evaluation, and the development of standards and guidance, working with global teams to enhance knowledge sharing, technical delivery, and external engagement.
- The Water Security Lead is based in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team, reporting to the head of the team. The Water Security Lead is accountable for the strategic development and effective delivery of the core team responsibilities on water security programming in both urban and rural, low-income settings, incorporating WaterAid’s and the sector’s leading practices, innovations and methods.
- Applying a people-centred, systems strengthening approach to WASH, she/he leads the provision of high quality specialist technical analysis, advisory, and support services to the design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments of WaterAid’s water programming worldwide, at both strategic and operational levels.
- In collaboration with country, regional and global colleagues, she/he leads the facilitation of effective learning and management of technical and programme knowledge across the organisation, and leads the development of relevant standards and guidance. She/he also provides high quality strategic and technical input to fundraising, communications, and external engagements.
- The Water Security Lead has substantial autonomy in determining what the technical objectives are and how they are delivered and achieved. She/he is held account for the integrity and effective delivery of the technical advice and services. To be successful, you’ll need:
- Extensive technical experience in water security, water resources, catchment protection, hydrogeology, water supply, water quality, services delivery, resilience, sustainability, and related areas.

- A relevant postgraduate degree or equivalent professional experience.

This role will lead on the delivery of our year-round volunteering programmes, with a particular focus on volunteering at our venue Aviva Studios. This will include the recruitment of Aviva Studios volunteers, training and induction, and support for volunteers taking part in our programmes. You will ensure that the volunteer programme is inclusive and accessible, and that volunteers have a fantastic experience at all points that they interact with us.
The primary focus of this role is leading on the volunteer-facing aspects of the Venue Volunteer Programme, however it may include providing some support to volunteering on other Factory International programmes like MIF at critical times.
This role will involve some evening and weekend working – particularly during volunteer recruitment periods and to facilitate the delivery of some of our events. Work outside of core working hours can be taken back on a flexible basis.

- Manage our year-round volunteering programmes – in particular at Aviva Studios - responding to wider societal need to create social impact in the city

PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL
- Excellent communication skills, including written communication and verbal presentation skills

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic GOALS Service Manager to manage and expand our outreach efforts. The Service Manager will be responsible for leading a team to deliver Betknowmore UK's Community Outreach services, engaging with local communities, and supporting individuals impacted by gambling harms.
This is a key leadership role that involves overseeing the service’s strategy, operations, and delivery, ensuring that services are accessible, effective, and meet the needs of diverse communities.

- 3. Strategic Planning and Service Improvement:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement the strategic direction for community outreach services, ensuring alignment with Betknowmore UK's wider objectives.
- Continuously evaluate service effectiveness, gathering feedback from stakeholders, service users, and team members to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead the development and implementation of outreach campaigns and partnerships to engage at-risk communities.
4. Reporting and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of outreach activities and case management, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
- Prepare and present regular reports on service performance, including outcomes, challenges, and achievements.
- Ensure that all outreach services meet organizational standards, as well as external regulatory requirements
5. Stakeholder Engagement and Networking:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including community organizations, local authorities, and support services.
- Represent Betknowmore UK at community events, conferences, and other networking opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with other service lines within the organization to ensure a holistic approach to supporting individuals with gambling-related harm.

We run stay and play sessions from a bright and beautiful double-decker bus that has been converted into a mobile early years community play space for families. We listen to the needs of parents and carers and help families to access support services where needed.
As well as our Playbus sessions, we bring our informal, welcoming approach to baby groups that we run in community settings.

What happens next?
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a Playbus session during the week beginning 10th March. This will be a chance to meet the team, interact with families, and experience the Playbus in action.
Panel interviews will be held on Friday 14th March at the Hackney Playbus depot and office, so that candidates can see our base of operation.
