The London Diocesan Fund (LDF) is seeking a PA to the Archdeacon of Northolt and Willesden Area Administrator to play a key role within the Willesden team, based from Causton Street. 

Job Summary 

The purpose of the PA role is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Archdeacon of Northolt in the Willesden area, ensuring efficient handling of communications, management of her diary, and maintenance of records. This includes coordinating travel arrangements, organising meetings, compiling communications materials, and managing various financial tasks. Additionally, the PA plays a vital role in upholding confidentiality, being a source of support in the making of difficult decisions and assisting with safeguarding. The PA carries a vital role in linking Clergy, Church Wardens, and others to the support available to them in the Diocesan office and helping them feel supported and heard when they contact the Archdeacons office for help.

The Willesden Area Administrator is a member of the Area staff responsible for the efficient and effective running of the office. (s)he has strong links to the Bishops office, other members of the Archdeaconry Team, the Area Director of Ministry and his PA, other Area Staff, people in the parishes especially Church Wardens and church administrators, as well as key external stakeholders such as local authorities, businesses, architects and partner organisations. 

Job responsibilities 

Administrative 

• Proactive management of mail, enquiries, telephone calls, e-mail, using initiative when referring upwards and flagging issues with the Archdeacon 

• Diary management – forward planning of events and specific projects and day-to-day management of the Archdeaconry diaries. 

• Preparing agendas, support papers and taking minutes for meetings. 

• Draft letters and documents as requested. 

• Uphold the security and confidentiality of the documentation in accordance with GDPR. 

• Arranging visits in connection with ongoing works 

• Liaising with both architects and parishes for Quinquennial Inspections 

• Liaison with and between Area staff members and others, setting up meetings. 

• Organising arrangements for Archdeacon's Visitations including assisting with writing Visitation reports. 

• Organising and facilitating the annual Archdeacons visitation services and admission of Churchwardens, liaising with Area Deans and host churches to ensure they are well attended and organised, including the distribution of and receipt of Church Wardens Citations and Declarations 

• Liaising with the Director of Ministry’s PA and Bishops office to assist in the organisation of the induction process for new clergy. 

• Facilitating the Willesden Area Parish Administrators network including organising training and networking events for them. 

• Assisting the Archdeacon in implementing new initiatives and projects. 

• Discussing with the Archdeacon the response and approach to difficult situations in parishes, agreeing ways forward and helping to facilitate them, involving the Bishops office where appropriate. 

• Being the first port of call for enquiries to the Archdeacons office. 

• Supporting the Bishops PA in the efficient administration of vacancies and appointments including overseeing the area vacancies list and coordinating shortlisting and interview dates.

• Coordinating of the annual parish returns both Mission Statistics and financial. 

• Ensuring the highest possible quality of outward facing communication to parishes, clergy and external partners. 

• Overseeing updates of the People System, CMS, and Parish returns for the area. 

Financial 

• Tracking the Archdeaconry budget, including ordering stationary supplies 

• Managing the Archdeacon’s Discretionary Fund and Area Deans budget with oversight by the Archdeacon. 

• Approving invoices under £500 via Xledger with oversight by the Archdeacon. 

Safeguarding 

• Undertaking appropriate safeguarding training and knowing when to refer calls to the Archdeacon, on to the Safeguarding Team. 

Other 

• Undertaking any other duties commensurate with the role.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Community Education Officer plays an important role in both collaborating with communities to take part in shared learning and disseminating findings to wider audiences throughout the project, informing how it develops and boosting its impact. You will work in partnership with individuals and their communities, under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager as part of the education and advocacy programme. This will include cooperative identification of changes to the food system in Knowsley in the last century, engaging project participants in discussing those changes and raising awareness to wider audiences, supporting the project to achieve its aim of creating a shared understanding and celebrating Knowsley’s heritage and influencing strategies to shape the future of the borough, through sustained, quality engagement. You will support the Community Research Coordinator to capture qualitative and quantitative data that will inform reporting and contribute project monitoring and evaluation, participant outcomes and signposting groups & individuals to project activities with the aim of improving community participation & influence in our work.

The post holder will need to be proactive, working both independently and as part of a team, whilst managing and prioritising a busy workload.

The main strategic aims this role is responsible for:

Aim 8: FAIR ACCESS TO GOOD FOOD  

By the end of 2025, low-income communities in the UK will have secure, dignified access to nutritious food with low environmental impact, challenging the supermarket redistribution and food bank model

By the end of 2025, regional, participatory, celebratory food economies anchored in place and community will grow, challenging the corporate food model.

Key Responsibilities 

• Primary responsibility for leading the collaborative learning process with community stakeholders in Knowsley (e.g., community groups, local schools).
• Work with individuals, groups and communities to explore the food and farming heritage of Knowsley, creating a shared understanding of what came before Knowsley’s establishment as a Metropolitan Borough.
• Contribution towards the planning and execution of events and workshops in Knowsley in collaboration with the team at Feedback and key community stakeholders.

ISEAL supports sustainability standards and similar market-based sustainability systems to improve their impacts on people and planet. Its membership team is the key point of contact for aspiring new Community Members, subscribers and existing member organisations. The coordinator will be in contact with a diverse range of organisations working in sustainability, assisting in pitching and providing specialist services, as well as helping prospective Community Members to navigate the member application process. Media and PR

About the role

Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation, the Senior Digital Communications Officer plays a crucial role in developing and implementing a Social Media strategy and Digital Communication plans that are aligned and feed into Practical Action's Global Communications strategy. Accountabilities

Social Media Strategy & Community Management (internal & external)

• Create and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with Practical Action's organizational objectives.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a dynamic Corporate Campaigner who will lead, develop and implement creative campaigns and strategies to drive change in steel companies. This will require using multiple pressure points across the steel value chain; shifting narratives, engaging with national campaigns,  exposing inadequacy of climate plans, harnessing investor pressure, driving demands for green steel and much more. The Corporate Campaigner will work closely with our CSO allies, notably from European Fossil Free Steel Network (EFFSN) and Fair Steel Coalition, to contribute to the impacts of the wider ecosystem and to sharply define the role of SteelWatch and its campaigns. This is likely to involve collaborations beyond Europe, in North America, Africa, Asia or Latin America. As a member of the first international climate NGO specialising in steel decarbonisation, you will work with other SteelWatch team members located across Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Europe. 

For the steel industry to move toward decarbonisation, technological advancement is not the only solution. We need to fundamentally drive  systemic changes to the long-held methods of steel production, the iron and steel value chain and the industrial structure, and going further, the relationship between the steel industry and the future of the decarbonised society. We are looking for someone who is able to use their creativity to engage not only in negotiations to achieve GHG emissions reductions, but also in critical thinking to provoke dialogues about what our climate needs from the industry’s corporate actors and other stakeholders today, to ensure a better future for people and the planet.

Responsibilities: 

• Develop campaign strategies and plans in collaboration with your analytical and communication colleagues and with partner organisations, where relevant;

• Track and monitor company and investment calendar, announcements and news to identify opportunities for driving change;

• Plan and deliver campaign outputs; public communications, on-ground activities, media appearance, corporate engagement and other tactics, responding to emerging campaign opportunities;

• Engage with relevant stakeholders, corporate actors, financial institutions, government officials, industry experts, in pursuit of the campaign strategy;

• Participate actively in coalition conversations and activities; 

• Undertake necessary research and report writing for the campaigns, working closely with the Steelwatch Steel Analyst;

We seek applicants with several years experience in corporate campaigning and a track record of managing the A-Z of campaign delivery.  We will also consider, for entry at a more junior level, applicants with less experience but who have the campaigning mentality and strong delivery skills, with potential to grow in the role. Candidates with more substantial experience could be considered for a more senior role.  For candidates of any level of experience, an appetite to learn and grow in the role is expected, as this is pioneering work.

As the Project Officer, you will be supporting the smooth running and development of the Community Action Groups (CAG) network in Devon. The CAG Devon network empowers community groups to act towards a more sustainable future, focussing on the areas of waste reduction, composting, sharing, reuse and repair, community energy, biodiversity and wider sustainability. What you will be doing

Day to day project support

• Responding to enquiries from groups and other organisations.

Our Operations team strives to help our staff and volunteers to thrive by anticipating, developing and delivering excellent operational services and our Finance team focusses specifically on excellent stewardship of our finances.

About the Role
As the Finance Administrator you will build good relationships with the wider staff team and be a friendly and knowledgeable source of advice for all queries relating to donations, credit cards, expenses and budget processes. You will support the Finance Manager with day to day tasks, such as bank reconciliation, recording transactions in QuickBooks, responding to staff queries and budget template preparation. As a key member of the team, you will be the primary user of many existing processes, and will be able to identify when and how systems need developing or updating to be more efficient. 

About You
You are passionate about helping staff to record and manage their fundraising and expenditure. You appreciate order and logical systems and processes and are skilled at using those systems and explaining them to others. You thrive on knowing you are using both your organisational skills and your relational skills to support others.

We're Hiring: Pastoral Support Officer for the National Open Youth Orchestra

Open Up Music is an organisation with a simple but powerful mission: to open up music to young disabled musicians. We are looking for a Pastoral Support Officer for the National Open Youth Orchestra - a pioneering inclusive orchestra for disabled and non-disabled musicians.

About the role

As our Pastoral Support Officer for the National Open Youth Orchestra you will play a vital role in ensuring that young people participating in NOYO are supported, safe and cared for, and have the opportunity to meet their full potential. You will work alongside the NOYO team and partner organisations in the planning and delivery of NOYO activities, ensuring best-practice pastoral and welfare support for all NOYO musicians. The role will also enable and encourage participants to have a voice in the development of the orchestra.

You will use your positive and calm personality to build strong relationships with our musicians, their families and our partners, to ensure we deliver activities where young people are safe and supported. You will be a great communicator, understanding different ways of communicating with a diverse range of people, with the ability to listen, talk to and  nurture young people. And you will use your creativity to find ways to overcome barriers to participation and deliver fun and engaging activities to support the personal and social development of our musicians.​

We want to push the boundaries with personalised brand stories, and really put people living with multiple sclerosis on the map as people that matter and have the right to treatments, respect, support and services that mean they can live their best lives in the way they choose to live them.
