Change Mental Health is a leading national mental health charity providing unique support to people with severe and enduring mental ill health. With over 50 years’ experience across Scotland, we believe people affected by poor mental health and illness deserve the highest quality of support in the community and that every person has the right to be valued and to share in the opportunities, challenges, and joys of everyday life. 

In this critical role you will work closely with the Co-Investigator (Jim Hume, Director of Public Affairs & Communications) to ensure effective and impactful delivery of all project outputs and outcomes. The position is a multi-agency project employed by Change Mental Health and will be working in partnership with NHS Highland Public Health, High Life Highland, Museums Heritage Highland, Highland third sector organisations, local community groups and the academic research team.

Our Project Coordinator will engage very closely with regional and local community members, setting up and chairing groups where required in partnership with the wider research team, researching process and impact, developing a toolkit, and disseminating findings via events and online media and communication.

The position requires travel throughout the Highlands. Therefore we are looking for the candidate to be based in the highlands, or in Edinburgh (at our National Office).

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and manage the regional stakeholder group; organise and attend the group meetings, deputising for the Co-Investigator (Director of Public Affairs and Communications at Change Mental Health, Jim Hume) as required.
• Proactively assist in the set-up and management of the local co-design stakeholder groups in partnership with the research team; help with engaging local communities, networking and recruiting group members; liaise with Museums Heritage Highland and High Life Highland (providing venues).
• Chairing the co-design stakeholder groups and organising all the meetings.
• Organise online forums for the co-design groups to share experiences, which includes deputising for the Co-Investigator as required.
• Contribute fully and proactively to: (i) project research, for example by giving feedback on the co-design process; (ii) development of the project toolkit; and (iii) recording of project impacts.
• Dissemination of findings as required at multiple stages throughout the project including at the project’s conclusion, which will include leading the organisation of two dissemination events.
• Proactively assist with the setting up of the project website, ensuring website design and maintenance is kept within budget; managing and updating the project website.
• Contribute to communications and publicity, including updates/email bulletins, regular website updates.
• Contribute to and identify others to write blogs, ensure events and project news are publicised

General Duties:

• Acting in accordance with Data Protection legislation.  Ensure all records, personal, staff and client data are managed in line with Data Management and Information Governance policies.

Our BACP accredited Talking Therapies department has been running for over 40 years and we are historically known for providing long term psychodynamic therapy. Due to the success of the department, we have recently secured long term funding to meet the emerging needs of the local community. We have developed new and more accessible services which now include emotional support groups, psycho-education workshops and short-term counselling.

The purpose of the job is to provide a professional reception service to all clients at our talking therapies services reception, and to carry out general administrative functions that support the Talking Therapies Office Manager and contribute to the smooth running of the charity. The receptionist/administrator is the first point of contact at the Counselling Services reception for many people and therefore needs to be warm and welcoming, a good communicator and able to respond professionally to a very varied range of callers, including people with communication difficulties or those in distress.

Job purpose  

To deliver timely and efficient fundraising and administrative support, as we work to ensure that no dementia carer ever feels isolated, invisible or alone. 

Key responsibilities   

• Be the first point of contact for supporters, campaigners and others, managing enquiries via post, online and over the phone to ensure everyone has a quality experience.

• Manage processes for fundraising donations.

• Work with teams across the organisation and with carers to produce creative and engaging thank you and stewardship materials.

• Support the fundraising team with prospect research to help identify potential new supporters.

• Draft funder reports, small trust funding applications and fundraising communications.

• Support the administration and delivery of fundraising activities and initiatives.

• Keep up to date with sector developments and best practice in fundraising.

• Support the marketing & communications manager to deliver effective internal communications.

• Support the services team to deal with carer enquiries and casework, administer online groups, and produce reports.

General Statement of Duties:

To significantly increase the hospital’s voluntary income (primarily unrestricted) through the development and management of mid-value fundraising appeals, stewarding mid-level donors, regular donors, and fundraising committees with some event support.

The success of this role will be dependent on developing excellent relationships with our fundraising committees and regular donors. This role will work in conjunction with a small, dedicated team in London to provide fundraising, communications, and events support to two dedicated community fundraising groups.

Key Criteria for success:

· Develop excellent working relationships with Hospital’s fundraising committees, and in-aid of supporters.

· Provide finance, event, admin, and communications support to our committees.

· Represent SJEHG externally at community events, St John activities, and committee organised events.

· Work under the supervision of the Executive Head of UK Office on developing and implementing detailed planning and milestones for the key objectives of the fundraising plan relating to mid-value appeals.

Main responsibilities:

· Manage the key relationships with the Guild fundraising committee and the SOA fundraising committee including communication, administration, and event support. One day per week will be set aside by the post holder to conduct and manage Guild responsibilities and tasks.

· Manage the key relationship with the Knights Templar sub-groups, and the County Priory Groups across the UK.

· Represent SJEHG externally at community events and in aid of fundraising activities.

· Establish and manage excellent client care for all relevant donors. Ensure that timely, effective, appropriate acknowledgement and recognition of gifts are provided to the donors.

· To be responsible for ensuring electronic records are up-to-date and accurate.

· To devise, implement and manage an effective regular giving strategy, under the supervision of the Executive Head of UK Office, with the aim of growing regular giving income, and undertake monitoring and evaluation.

· To steward the mid-level donors (£500 to £4999), ensuring the highest possible levels of donor care.

· To work in partnership with colleagues to identify individual donors that could be cultivated and moved to the major gift team.

· Assist colleagues with the content for the Jerusalem Scene newsletter

· To work under the supervision of the Executive Head of UK Office to develop appropriate income targets and expenditure budgets relating to committees, individual donors, and appeals.

· Manage Shopify store online and Merchandise management. Fulfilling orders and using the opportunity to steward donors.

· Thanking and stewarding donors within the remit (under £10,000).

Your role

This role is crucial in helping us raise funds to underpin our new 3 year strategy and to reach even more midwives and student midwives with our awards.  Reporting to The Executive Director you will take forward our fundraising strategy in our three key areas which grows our income and deepens relationships with our existing donors.  We have a dedicated legacy strategy in place and your role will be to move this forward.  We want you to explore ways in which we can use our learning legacy ( 30 years of funding awards)  to both raise awareness and funds and to be involved as we move forward in appointing a new Patron and Ambassadors and help us maximise their impact.

About you

Have a proven track record of successful fundraising within a UK charity preferably working at national level, in one or more of these areas: individuals, corporates , legacies, community.

You have excellent communication skills and can work across a wide range of audiences in a clear and confident manner.

You are highly motivated and able to work independently to develop and implement fundraising strategies.

You are well organised and are able to plan and prioritise working to multiple deadlines as well as being able to develop effective systems to monitor progress,

You have a demonstrable commitment and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion. An understanding of the NHS and the midwifery sector and an understanding of the social and structural drivers of health inequalities would be desirable but not essential.

• Respond promptly to enquiries about volunteering, engage with individuals to encourage them to volunteer and interview potential volunteers to identify their strengths, interests, development and support needs. 
• Support volunteers to successfully undertake a programme of induction training, agree ongoing task plans for each volunteer to monitor progress, carry out regular one to one meetinghs with volunteers and providing practical support for volunteers to deliver specific tasks and mini projects.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job title: Young Carers and Young Adult Carers Team Leader

Job aim: Our carers, aged between 5 and 25, provide support to a parent, sibling or other family member due to disability, a long-term illness, poor mental health and/or addiction. You will lead and provide day to day operational management to the Young Carers (YC) and Young Adult Carers (YAC) team so that they can effectively provide support to these young people, whilst also raising awareness of Carers Bucks services across Buckinghamshire.

Location: Hybrid. A minimum of 2 days a week from home with the other days working flexibly from home or in the community, as agreed by your line manager, with attendance at our Aylesbury office as and when required.

Annual Leave: 25 days annual leave (which increase with long service) + bank holidays.

Main Responsibilities:

These include, but are not limited to:

• Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead and attend regular training and refesher courses.

• Day to day management of the YC/YAC team- establishing and maintaining a positive and effective working environment and dealing promptly with any interpersonal issues

• Day to day operational responsibility for the effective running of the YC/YAC services.

• Ensure that all new referrals, and all queries from current registered YC/YAC, are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner, and to the highest possible standard.

• Carry a caseload, both individually and alongside your team.

• Ensure that staff have the support and resources they need to run targeted sessions, clubs and activities which effectively meet the needs of YC/YAC.

• Ensure there are enough staff to cover the service at all times and assist with recruitment when required.

• Ensure that staff work in an integrated way with their colleagues in the Adult Carer Team, and at our sister charity Carers MK, in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for carers of all ages across the region.

• Ensure that all data relating to carers is stored correctly using our internal database, Charity Log.

• Create and review reports using Charity Log, for the purposes of monitoring and to help identify gaps in the service.

• Work with the Service Manager to develop services and maintain an in-depth understanding of the needs of the YC/YAC who are accessing our services.

• Actively promote inclusive practice.

• Lead and facilitate team meetings.

• Provide staff with feedback regarding their individual performance via quarterly supervision sessions and annual performance reviews.

• Provide staff with information relating to the organisation’s performance against operational targets during your regular team meetings.

• Work with the team to support and supervise volunteers recruited on behalf of the YC and YAC service.

• Ensure the team have had all the training they require to perform their duties and liaise with the Service Manager to source external training (or deliver internal training) where appropriate.

• Be proactive in assessing your own training needs and undertake relevant training accordingly.

• Be committed to representing and supporting the diverse communities in the local area and actively promote our services to those communities and groups who may not currently be accessing them, ensuring that our offer is in line with their specific needs.

• Develop and maintain relationships and referral pathways with Health and Social Care, Education and other voluntary sector organisations, and ensure staff have a good understanding of these.

• Check and authorise staff expenses, supplier invoices and credit card spend and liaise with the Operations Manager on these matters as needed.

• Manage activity budgets in line with Service Manager’s requests.

• Represent Carers Bucks at promotional events, conferences and relevant networking meetings, and actively participate in activities that we run ourselves e.g. our AGM, Carers Week and Young Carers Action Day.

• Work cooperatively with the fundraising and communications team in order to maximise donations and ensure that our website and social media presence remains relevant and up to date.

• Deputise for the Service Manager when required.

• Any other duties as reasonably required by Carers Bucks.

The Junction is an out of hours service, open 365 evenings a year, to support and assist individuals experiencing a mental health concern. The aim is to alleviate the need for people in the Swindon locality to access A&E acute mental health services and primary care GP services unnecessarily by managing the presenting symptoms/mental health crisis along with the triggers and context for that crisis. 

As an Acute Mental Health Practitioner, you will be providing a preventative, person centred approach to people accessing the service who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.

The service is open from 4PM-11PM, 365 days a year so this position will include some weekends and bank holidays.

An exciting opportunity to be part of a LGBT+ support service.The successful candidate will provide effective person-centred support to LGBT+ people living in Causeway’s specialist LGBT+ supported housing.Support clients to achieve tangible progress in areas such as tenancy management, independent living skills and training/education.Support LGBT+ clients to develop greater self-esteem and self-confidence. Equip clients for independent living and move-on to more independent accommodation.Develop support plans with individual clients that reflect their ambitions and aspirations with clear actions for achieving these. Contribute to risk assessment and safeguarding plans. Ensure clients settle into their accommodation and become familiar with the local area. Work closely with the Housing Team to ensure residents are complying with the terms of their occupancy agreements. Contribute to client involvement within the LGBT+ supported housing service. Be aware of trauma informed working, particularly with regard to trauma experienced by LGBT+ people.
