JOB PURPOSE
The Administrative Assistant role provides a range of proactive administrative support to the Director of Fundraising of UK for UNHCR, as well as to the wider fundraising team. This role is therefore a key support in growing funding for refugees and displaced communities.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES
- Proactively manages the Fundraising Director’s calendar: scheduling and rearranging internal and external meetings and liaising with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Helps schedule meetings for the various fundraising teams.
- Books meeting rooms for internal and external meetings, ensuring any required technology is set up.
- Ensures briefings for Director of Fundraising are received in advance of meetings.
- Registers in-person external guests to the office and ensures they are welcomed.
- Books travel arrangements for the Director of Fundraising and heads of fundraising.
- Minutes meetings, including documenting and sending out summary of decisions made and next steps from internal meetings.
- Updates partner information in our database (Salesforce).
- Maintains files and records on SharePoint.
- Manages invites and guestlists for donor events.
- Leads on organising logistics for twice annual fundraising all staff strategy away days.
- Coordinates with colleagues to secure content and information for donor materials (newsletters, proposals, reports).
- Helps create template documents for donors (for example, thank you emails/letters).
- Collates documentation for purchase orders and invoices.
- Builds and manages positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifies any administrative processes that could be simplified or made more efficient.
- Appropriately manages any confidential information.
- Supports other directors and fundraising colleagues on administrative activities.
- Performs other appropriate tasks or duties as required.

- Actively lead the RCR’s approach to engaging with Contributors.
- Conduct regular business partnering meetings with RCR staff who have management responsibility for key Contributors, advising on how to manage, support and engage the group.
- Actively input into the development of the RCR’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and other relevant systems to ensure there is a single point of truth for all Contributor related data and that important information is recorded in an easy to access way.

You will be responsible for our communications and digital marketing strategy to drive and increase supporter engagement. Working remotely, you will be an integral part of a small team in the UK, reporting to the Head of Fundraising and collaborating with colleagues in India and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively create captivating and impactful content to support UK fundraising and advocacy objectives to broaden HOPE UK’s online presence and brand awareness.
- To optimise and increase engagement across social media platforms by identifying relevant opportunities to engage with online influencers, patrons and ambassadors, third parties, and key UK supporters in order to raise awareness of HOPE UK’s activities and programmes in Kolkata.
- Scheduling and sharing content provided by HOPE Kolkata, HOPE UK’s Head of Fundraising, and third-party supporters, and adapting this content to create engaging posts across HOPE UK’s platforms.
- Monitoring and managing HOPE UK’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and setting up a new LinkedIn account).Responding and engaging with comments, as needed. The role requires flexibility to enable monitoring channels.

Experience and Skills
·Experience working in a Communications & Marketing role within the charity sector, preferably an international children’s charity.
·Experience of successfully increasing supporter engagement online and analysing results.
·A sound understanding of SEO, web metrics, analytics, and keyword search.
·Knowledge of various social media channels and understanding of the granularity of audiences.
·Experience of using a range of multi-media tools (e.g., Canva, InDesign) to create engaging content to support fundraising campaigns, increase brand awareness, and help drive donations.
·Knowledge of maximising sponsored campaigns and creating targeted posts (notably, on LinkedIn).
·An aptitude to work both independently and as part of a small team who all work remotely.
·A sound knowledge of English (written and verbal).
·Copywriting experience would be beneficial.
·Good communication and networking skills and an ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
·An ability to think both creatively and strategically.
·Experience working with and managing Google Ads/GDN
·Experience of writing and pitching press releases an advantage.
·Knowledge of updating a website (WordPress and WooCommerce).

Working Conditions

The service provides 10 weekly universal activities across East Ham over 49 weeks of the year for young people aged 9-19 including:

Back Up’s mentoring service is there to help. We know that peer support can have a life changing impact and our Mentoring Team are the ones who can facilitate this through matching them with a suitable mentor who will be able to support them over a series of phone calls to reach their goals. The Mentoring Team Leader leads the team through providing excellent line management and driving the delivery of the team’s business plans to empower the team to ultimately support more people affected by spinal cord injury
In addition to leading the team, a Mentoring Team Lead will assist in creating mentoring relationships and support mentors and mentees as appropriate, assess mentee suitability and provide support in the process of identifying, recruiting and training new mentors.
A Mentoring Team Lead will be motivated to achieve the aims, targets and milestones that have been set in terms of making quality matches and will be comfortable and efficient with data management and GDPR compliance.
Lived experience is an advantage; but most important is your sharing our commitment to transform the lives of everyone affected by spinal cord injury.

Chief Executive Officer reporting to the Chair of the Ampleforth Abbey Trust
Ampleforth Abbey Trust is looking to appoint a dynamic strategic leader to the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Purpose of the role
The post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) leads the works of the Abbey Trust on behalf of the monastic community, providing strategic leadership and managerial oversight of the Trust’s activities. In conjunction with the Chair of the Trust, the post-holder will support the Abbot in ensuring that the needs and ambitions of the monastic community are met, whilst also ensuring that the contents and pace of the Trust’s forward plan align with these needs. The post-holder will work closely with the Abbot to understand fully the needs and plans of the monastery and identify the business challenges and opportunities facing the Trust arising from these.
The post-holder will take the lead in ensuring that staff, volunteers and external stakeholders are engaged in the work of the Trust. They will also maintain a professional relationship with the Head and Bursar of Ampleforth College to ensure effective co-ordination and open communication where necessary.
The CEO is accountable to the Chair of the Ampleforth Abbey Trust and will work in liaison with the Abbot, and the Head and Bursar of Ampleforth College. In addition, they will also work closely with the Co-ordinator of Hospitality and the General Manager to reflect the importance of hospitality, retreatants, groups and general visitors, to the work of the Abbey Trust.
The post-holder will work effectively with all regulatory bodies, particularly the Charity Commission, to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the CEO fall under the headings Strategy, Leadership and Management, with a particular focus on finance.
Strategy
· Developing and leading the implementation of the strategy for the Ampleforth Abbey Trust which supports the needs of the monastic community and the delivery of the Trust’s charitable objects and which has in-built clear key performance measures;
· managing the General Manager and the Finance Manager to ensure the financial sustainability of the Abbey Trust across all of its activities;
· managing the Director of Safeguarding and Wellbeing to ensure that the highest standards of safeguarding are implemented and embedded across all Trust strategies, plans and activities;
· in conjunction with the Clerk/Company Secretary ensuring that matters relating to legislation and governance – compliance, structures, policies and processes – are in place to facilitate efficient and effective working across the Trust in order to improve organisational effectiveness.
Leadership
· providing effective leadership and management to the Trust’s senior officers and finance team, and managing selected Trust-wide contracts (for example, HR, IT and fundraising);
· working with the Chair of trustees to lead and deliver the Trust’s fundraising activities;
· working with the Co-ordinator of Hospitality and General Manager to ensure that the Trust’s activities are supportive of, and aligned with, the hospitality apostolate;
· engaging in an open and inclusive manner with all staff and volunteers who work for the Trust, engendering staff buy-in and trust developing the Trust as a highly regarded employer;
· ensuring that trustees have the information required for informed decision-making and the fulfilment of their statutory duties and that a positive and effective relationship exists between the trustees and senior officers.
Finance
· Providing effective leadership and management to the senior officers and finance team;
· Leading and building on the existing finance function, ensuring on a day-to-day level that correct policy, procedure and systems are in place for:

About James’ Place
James’ Place Charity was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts, but didn’t find it.
James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. James’ Place offers men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.
The first James’ Place opened in June 2018 in Liverpool, the first of its kind in the UK, and has to date supported more than 2,300 men experiencing suicidal crisis through our innovative and safe therapeutic intervention. We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centre and in our landscaped garden, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families.
In 2022 we opened a new centre in London and in early in 2023 we launched an appeal to raise over £10m to fund three more centres across the country. Our third centre opened in Newcastle at the beginning of 2024, and we are currently raising funds to open a James’ Place in Brimingham.
