We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Job Purpose
Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent
advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women's offending.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide in-depth, ongoing support to a caseload of women who have been referred for support by prison staff, predominately the Mental Health In-Reach Teams and Primary Care Teams.
Key Responsibility Areas
1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and support to women in contact with the criminal justice system.
2. Maintain case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording.
3. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders such as statutory and voluntary sector agencies.
LATIN AMERICAN WOMEN’S RIGHTS SERVICE (LAWRS)
Policy Officer on Young Women and Girls
Part time: 14 hours per week

The Policy Officer will collaborate with the Policy Team and Sin Fronteras’ Young Women’s Advisory Board to advance LAWRS’ Step Up Migrant Women campaign for young migrant women and girls.
The Policy Officer for Young Women and Girls will have strong communication, advocacy skills in the area of young migrant women and girls, political judgement, and networking abilities. You must be dedicated to addressing inequality and violence against women and girls.
The main duties of this post include:

To develop, plan and implement a policy, advocacy and campaign strategy on the needs of young migrant women and girls, based on the findings from the Young Women’s Advisory Board (YWAB) reports.

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.
In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We will achieve this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. To make this happen we fund, evaluate and then spread the very best work on reducing violence affected young people across England and Wales.
Central to all of this to is two key tasks: firstly, deciding which initiatives we should fund and evaluate and secondly, ensuring we do this excellently. Our Programmes Team is central to getting this done. This team is responsible for planning specific rounds of funding that will fill evidence gaps and identifying, assessing, funding and supporting initiatives designed to prevent violence affecting young people. This way we build evidence on what works so that we can change national practice and policies.
Key responsibilities
You are a key member of the Programmes team. As a Programme and Impact Lead, you will line manage Programme Managers and be responsible for managing some of our larger grant awards, that include more complex evaluation designs. You’ll be responsible for making sure our delivery organisations can effectively engage with robust, independent evaluations, so we have the best chance of generating valuable learning from a round. And you may also be responsible for directly managing our independent evaluators as well.
You must have a strong understanding of evaluation methodologies and challenges organisations face in delivery. You must also be a brilliant project manager, great at managing and developing people and external stakeholders, energised by tackling complex problems and really care about the YEF’s mission to build evidence of what works.
Your main responsibilities boil down to these. You’ll:
- Manage large-scale complex projects
- You’ll be responsible for managing programmes of a significant size and complexity. You’ll draw on your experience of managing large scale projects and knowledge of evaluations to overcome unexpected challenges. You’ll balance logic and intuition to guide partners and colleagues through the inevitable undulations of complex projects and feel comfortable making decisions when there’s too much or too little information. You’ll ensure projects maintain a strong alignment to the original aims and objectives of the funding round.
- Provide leadership to the Programmes Team and strategic advice to the Assistant Director of Impact, Programmes and Partnerships. Along with other Programme and Impact leads, you’ll deputise for the Assistant Director of Impact, Programmes and Partnerships. This means you’ll:
- Take responsibility for making key decisions in funding rounds and with specific programmes;
- Oversee a broad portfolio of projects and serve as a senior point of escalation when issues arise;
- Manage budgets, including approving payments and making judgements about the appropriateness of timeline and budget variation requests;
- Be responsible for knowing when to pull others into the decision.
- Lead strategic areas of work. You’ll develop and embed a clear strategy for distinctive areas of work that will enable us to achieve our mission. This includes:
- Finding new ways to improve our internal knowledge sharing and learning, contributing new ideas around how the Programmes team can play into emerging areas of work in the wider organisation.
- Supporting organisations to become evaluation ready, ensuring young people are the heart of our funding decisions and driving efficiencies so we can be the best we can be.
- Developing and leading the implementation of these strategies and ensure we are on track to achieve our aspirations.
- Developing and rolling out new processes designed to help us monitor progress in commissioning and high-quality grant management.
- Win people over externally
- You’ll meet people externally and share what we’re doing, why we care about it, being open and transparent about what we know and what we don’t know.
- You’ll share progress updates with key stakeholders, and you’ll represent YEF at external meetings, steering groups and committees.
- You’ll manage strategic relationships with co-funders, which may include partnerships with government departments.
- You’re likely to have frequent contact with civil servants, charity leaders and staff, academics and practitioners.
- Line management
- Your role may involve the line management of Programme Managers. This will include supporting and enhancing their overall professional growth, providing mentoring and coaching opportunities as appropriate and serving as a source of consultation and a point of escalation for your team members as they manage projects in their portfolio.
- Support delivery organisations to take part in robust evaluation
- You’ll make sure the team are excellent at supporting delivery organisations to engage with robust evaluation. You’ll help organisations identify the challenges and mitigations associated with embedding an evaluation approach in their project and delivery. This includes helping them understand the importance of having excellent monitoring and quality assurance systems and process and ensuring they are comfortable engaging in open and honest conversations with evaluators to ensure the project and evaluation are the very best they can be.

Hybrid Working
The office is based in Central London. Those living in and around London are expected to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. Role Summary
The Communications and Fundraising Manager is a critical role within the organisation, working collaboratively with colleagues across Together Women to increase awareness of our work, grow our external communications presence, increase digital engagement and increase public fundraising.
This is an exciting and dynamic role which will balance operational delivery of communications and fundraising activity, with a strategic approach to growing the impact of our communications and funds raised via public donations.
We’re looking for a talented and creative communicator, with previous success in the growth of communications engagement and/or fundraising, and experience implementing strategies and working to targets.
You will have experience creating compelling written, visual and verbal content for a range of audiences, and be confident managing digital channels and platforms.
You will be a positive and effective collaborator, who can build relationships internal and externally, with the skill to spot opportunities and make the most of them.
You will also have experience implementing and adhering to key compliance frameworks, such as UK GDPR, PECR and/or Fundraising Code of Practice, and experience of working with databases or CRM systems.
Key Accountabilities
External communications strategy and planning
- Develop and implement Together Women’s communications strategy to increase awareness of our work and advocate for systemic change for women within the criminal justice system.
- In line with our strategy, ensure the voices, stories and experiences of women we support are at the core of our communications strategy.
- Identify ways we can co-create communications with the women we support
- Set ambitious, achievable targets to drive growth in communications engagement and reach.
- Create and deliver our content and communications annual plan.
- Regularly report on plans and progress.
Digital communications
- Manage our website and social media channels, ensuring content is updated regularly.
- Lead the redesign of our website, with support from an external agency.
- Increase digital resources available for service users and professionals.
- Generate engaging content across our social channels, and develop channel-specific plans to increase our reach and impact.
- Utilise analytics to report on digital campaigns, track monthly performance across channels, and apply learnings to future activity.
- Supervise content across all channels and escalate concerns to senior management.

Content creation
- Maintain our collection of brand assets and resources to promote Together Women's work.
- Create engaging content and resources for use across digital channels.
- Regularly attend events and activities in our centres to showcase our work.
- Support staff to self-serve resources and maintain consistent tone of voice and brand across our communications.
- Work with Services teams, Data and Impact team and Service Users to platform the voices and experiences of the women we work with, and the work our teams deliver.
Public Fundraising
- Develop and implement a new public fundraising strategy, in collaboration with Centre Managers, Directors and our CEO, with an initial target of £200,000 in the first 2 years, and ambition to significantly increase over the long term.
- Build a pipeline of opportunities, develop pitches and secure new supporters and funds, with a particular focus on Corporate, Grant Funders, Philanthropy and Community supporters.
- Increase Gift in Kind donations to support Centre and Central operations
- Develop and deliver donor stewardship strategies, to engage and retain donors long term.
- Ensure robust fundraising compliance, processes and procedures in place, and ensure regular review of this, including processing, recording and thanking donors
- Work closely with our Data and Impact team, to ensure any fundraising data is processed and stored in line with UK GDPR and Data protection principles.
Internal Communications
- Support delivery of our internal communications strategy in collaboration with Directors and Managers.
- Create and maintain all staff communications on SharePoint.
- Create and distribute regular staff updates, quarterly newsletters and staff surveys.
- Support planning and delivery of key staff events, such as our annual staff away day.
PR and media
- Identify media opportunities, and support Centre teams to generate local media coverage, and identify opportunities for national media coverage.
- Ensure robust processes are in place for securing and recording media permissions.
- Draft press releases as required, and create PR templates.
- Conduct media monitoring, and manage our archive of media coverage.
- Ensure clear processes in place for managing emergency media responses.
- Handle day-to-day, communication queries, internally and externally.
General communications support
- Support the HR team to compose job adverts and identify advertising channels to attract a diverse range of candidates.
- Support minute-taking in key meetings.
- Support the management of our main Admin mailbox where necessary.

Maintain a consistent quality of advice and help for clients by providing support, guidance and feedback on a day-to-day basis and using those insights to drive advice service development.
This role is vital in fostering a culture of quality and excellence within the agency, ensuring that both staff and volunteers are well-equipped to deliver exceptional advice services to clients.
Job Description
Strategy and planning
- Work with the Head of Advice to develop and deliver an operational plan to support delivery of the strategic priorities, which is measured, monitored and reported up to the CEO and Board of Trustees.
- Co-ordinate activities, procedures and systems so as to promote the common policies and practices with the appropriate advice services.
- Ensure that the strategy is accessible to and understood by all staff and volunteers and they know the role they play in achieving our goals.
Risk management and compliance
- Regularly review the risks to which the charity is exposed to relating to Advice Services and provide assurance that systems or procedures are in effective operation to manage those risks.
- Ensure the use of systems in place to meet the requirements of all applicable regulatory bodies relating to the Advice Service Delivery.
- Working with the rest of the management team ensures that good data protection practices are embedded in our day-to-day operations.
- Assess requests made in relation to GDPR.
People management and development
- Support team members in continuous learning that will equip and develop people to deliver outstanding advice delivery. Responsibility for the delivery of the training and development plan for the Advice Services Department including, sourcing, delivering, evaluating and maintaining records.

- Maintain and develop standards of service delivery.
- Advise the Head of Advice on staffing and service-related issues.
- Plan and allocate work, monitor achievements of deadlines and key performance indicators and provide support as appropriate.

Operational performance management
- Maintain, develop and monitor effective and relevant performance indicators and management processes, with particular emphasis on the application of customer insight data and feedback on complaints.
- In line with the Advice Quality Standard, work with the Head of Advice and the other Advice Quality and Operations Managers to ensure that staff and volunteers have adequate supervision and that advisers have access to support at all times when delivering advice to clients.
- Ensuring quality - actively supporting the quality of advice by guiding the team to information sources, checking that all aspects of a client's situation have been considered, checking that follow up work is progressed, and that research and campaigns issues are identified.
- Monitor the quality of advice given to clients to ensure that standards meet Citizens Advice requirements. Completing Case Checking, QAA Audits and independent file reviews (IFR) to ensure quality assurance at a whole service level. Using the insights to further develop the services to clients and skills of advisers.
- Maintain and develop standards of service delivery.
- Take part in internal consistency exercises at least quarterly.
- Providing support - actively supporting each team member to develop their skills and competences, by explaining, guiding, demonstrating, encouraging, suggesting, coaching, giving constructive feedback and challenging appropriately - adapting the level of support to individual competence and need, and taking account of the team as a whole.

- Client Experience: Use our written process for dealing with complaints, ensuring that regulatory requirements are met (for debt and money advice complaints) to ensure Complaints are handled effectively and data is used to drive improvements where appropriate.
- Ensuring that appropriate data protection procedures are in place and are followed by all workers.
- Lead on safeguarding and gender violence issues in accordance with policies.

- Implementing adult and child safeguarding policies and training staff and volunteers how to identify and deal with safeguarding concerns.
- Dealing with a conflict of interest and ensuring our service takes the right action to protect the client, our staff and volunteers and the service.
Research and Campaigns
- Ensure that staff and volunteers consistently and accurately generate Advice Issue Codes (AICs), evidence forms and profile data and participate in the Network Panel Surveys

Livingstone House is a 24 hour staffed 92 bed mix gender hostel, which provides short term supported housing for single homeless vulnerable people with Low to Medium support needs. Look ahead provides the support function and Riverside provides the housing management and night concierge. The Service provides on average 5 hours of weekly support to customers who reside in the hostel with the aim to provide them with the tools to move on within the community and live independently. On occasions, we may need support within our scattered sites based in Brent.
The Shift pattern of this role consist of Shift pattern 8am -4pm and 1.30pm - 9pm. Over a 7 day rota with 2 days off with weekend working
