We are excited to be working with Wellbeing of Women to recruit for a newly created role. As Philanthropy Executive you will be responsible for growing income from events, mid level donors, major donors and trusts and foundations.
The charity are in the first year of implementing a new fundraising strategy and you will be instrumental in developing the mid value programme, this is a real opportunity for an ambitious and driven fundraiser to really shape and develop this area for the charity.
This is a hybrid role with two days a week in the London office

Work with the Community and Digital Fundraising Manager to identify mid level and major donors from appeals, challenge events and other ways of giving

Support Fundraising events through prospect research, on the day relationship building and assisting with follow up post event.

Stewardship Manager Role
Salary £36,000 - £38,000 per annum (depending on experience, pro rata for part-time)

The role
The stewardship manager will report to the senior philanthropy operations manager.
We are seeking a creative and driven stewardship manager to join our team on a permanent basis. Working alongside members of the wider team, you will lead on creating and delivering a gold-standard experience for major donors supporting the Royal Free Charity, showcasing the impact their support has across our hospital sites. Your efforts will play a key role in ensuring continued, uplifted support of the charity.
You will play an important role within our philanthropy & campaigns team, helping to build relationships, and increase income, in a pivotal year for the charity. The role will offer significant scope for development, giving you the opportunity to grow your skillset in a supportive, ambitious, and high-performing team.
Responsibilities
· Work with members of the philanthropy & campaigns team to create and deliver a gold-standard stewardship experience for major donors supporting the Royal Free Charity, being actively involved across the cycle of a relationship before, during and after a gift.
· Lead on the charity’s approach to thanking and recognition of our major donors.
· Develop high quality and bespoke impact reports, newsletters and communications for supporters to convey the impact of their support, bringing them closer to the cause.
· Develop other key stewardship touchpoints and engagement opportunities for supporters, while remaining aware of different levels of giving.
· Work proactively in identifying potential stewardship opportunities, sharing ideas and suggestions with members of the team.
· Develop a plan for stewarding corporate supporters.

The team
Our dynamic fundraising department generated £4.5 million through donations in 2023/2024, and we are now preparing for an ambitious multi-million-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the Royal Free Hospital site.
We ride ourselves on being supporter focused and agile, working at the heart of the charity to deliver impact for patients and staff across our hospitals.
Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises two teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:
· Our Philanthropy & Campaigns team builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate organisations, and intermediaries, giving or facilitating donations of £10,000 or more to the charity each year. They lead major appeal activity for the charity, currently focused on the acquisition of a new surgical robot, our forthcoming cancer campaign, our essential volunteering, complementary therapy and support services, the charity’s first patrons’ programme, and special events to support these activities.
· Our Public Fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges. Our database and supporter care teams sit within public fundraising, with their work underpinning and supporting the entire department.
Building on our achievements, our board of trustees has agreed to invest in expanding the fundraising team to develop a sustainable infrastructure that will support our growth ambitions.

Reporting to the Head of Programmes, Gender and Humanitarian the post holder will identify, prospect and approach new institutional donors, converting them form prospects to secured funds. You will ensure the effective delivery of a portfolio of institutional and corporate grants, making sure projects are achieving key milestones and that day-to-day activities are on track. The Programme Development Manager will provide high quality project information to both internal and external stakeholders, extracting and quality assuring project data relevant for reporting, and making sure all projects are compliant with donor requirements. You will proactively manage relationships with existing donors, developing engagement strategies, sharing key information, and laying groundwork for follow-on funding. Finally, you will lead proposals for new and existing donors, coordinating inputs from Hand in Hand International and network colleagues, drafting technical inputs, and engaging with funders where required.
The ideal candidate will have an innovative approach and a strong track record in fundraising from large institutional donors; trusts and foundations, corporate foundations and governments. The main objective of the role is to identify, prospect and approach new institutional donors, converting them from prospects to secured funds. The role will be roughly 70% fundraising and 30% grant management.
As well as a demonstrable track-record securing large, multi-year grants from different types of funders, you will have experience with their thematic areas: women’s economic empowerment, value chains, livelihoods or enterprise acceleration. This role will need experience across fundraising, programme management and programme development.

Job purpose
The National New Business team are on an exciting trajectory, having recently just reshaped our team to align with the NSPCC’s strategy. About the role
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Trusts & Foundations specialist to expand EngineeringUK’s relationships in this field and develop grant-funding as a core income stream for our work. We receive significant funding from grant funders already but are looking to scale this income stream. This gives the successful candidate the opportunity to have an early impact and have influence over the direction of our strategy for grant-funding.
Whilst this is currently the sole role focusing on this area, you would be supported by the Director of Business Development & Partnerships and the Chief Executive, both of whom have experience in this type of fundraising. The Trusts & Foundations Manager role will be part of the Business & Industry team (11 people), who have responsibility for all funding and industry relationships across EngineeringUK. We are coming to the end of our 3 Year Plan, which saw us double the number of women reached from 5,000 per year to 10,000 per year and raising income from £3M to £5M. This is a pivotal time in the charity’s journey, with the opportunity to develop the future strategy, to work with the new Chief Executive joining in January 2025 and to meet ambitious partnership targets.
This role will lead Smart Work’s corporate partnerships strategy, significantly growing our partnership portfolio across sectors including finance, tech, insurance and more. Demonstrating excellent strategic and creative thinking, the successful candidate will be instrumental in establishing five and six figure transformational corporate partnerships, with multi-year scope and potential to deliver considerable strategic value against the Charity’s new Plan. The post-holder will also employ their outstanding communication skills to develop first-class relationships (at C-Suite) and oversee the management of these significant partnerships including Bobbi Brown, Google, Bank of America, and AJ Bell

The Partnerships team is based in London. This is a full-time hybrid role, with time split across all 3 of our London sites in Islington, Ladbroke Grove and Croydon. Some evening and weekend work is required.
