BACKGROUND
The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to 2.7 million* means that one in five children don't have enough to eat. When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.
Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma. Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK.
The new UK government’s Children’s Wellbeing Bill outlined in the King’s Speech, includes a requirement for free school breakfast clubs in every English primary school. This is a fantastic start towards ending child morning hunger. Magic Breakfast’s influence will be instrumental to ensuring school breakfasts are introduced in a way that is hunger-focused and barrier free. In 2021, the Scottish Government, pledged a not yet enacted promise to provide breakfast to primary children.
Thousands of secondary school children are at risk of losing their free school breakfasts from September next year. For many of these students, this is their only opportunity to have a nutritious meal before facing a demanding school day, including taking exams.
Solutions across all UK nations are currently either not yet actioned or are severely underserving the current need. JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. The role of the Policy and Public Affairs Manager is to support us to deliver on this mission through influencing governments to address child morning hunger and the underlying systemic causes, in order to give every child the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The Policy and Public Affairs Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping policy initiatives and influencing decision makers across Westminster and Whitehall. Specifically, you will help ensure the new Early Adopters Programme – the government’s pilot breakfast scheme in England – is hunger-focused and puts children and young people at its centre. This in turn, will inform the national rollout of primary school breakfast provision across England from September 2026 – a policy which you will also work to influence. In tandem, you will be responsible for informing and shaping how breakfast is included and positioned in the Children’s Wellbeing Bill.
More widely, you will keep abreast of political developments relevant to Magic Breakfast, identifying opportunities to respond, influence and shape the debate. You will be able to put complex policy ideas across in simple and effective terms both in person and through reports and briefings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications and Development Team
The Development Team sits within a wider Communications and Development Team, which consists of four members of staff at different levels, who work across a range of activities. The wider Team has two dedicated staff members currently focused on donor relationship management and fundraising, and two on communications.
The Development function is responsible for management of Conciliation Resources’ strategic funders, the generation of unrestricted income and providing fundraising support to the wider organisation. The majority of funding currently comes from government grants and this will remain a key focus, with some time also spent on reacting to opportunities for new funding streams which present themselves – such as trusts and foundations, and to a lesser extent, high-value individual donors and corporations.
The Communications function has oversight over all areas of organisational communications including the website and digital communications, branding, media relations and production of content.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to help generate funding for CR as an organisation, and its component teams. The job-holder will need to work with the Head of Development to support the development of existing and new unrestricted funding relationships, collaborate with staff in other teams to help achieve more restricted income, and at all times champion good organisational communication and information management around funding and donors.
With guidance from the Head of Development, the postholder will lead on building and maintaining strategic relationships with new donors and partners, which might involve some grant management, including budget monitoring, as well as providing technical advice to programmes and policy teams’ fundraising efforts. This may involve writing proposals, working on project budgets, coordinating submissions and providing other guidance, help and advice. The postholder will need to engage, train and support colleagues, as well as gather learning and introduce new tools in response.
They will use Conciliation Resource’s data management system (currently Podio) to support the development of clear grant and donor management processes, and maintain aspects of the system which relate to fundraising.
As a member of the DevelopmentTeam, the postholder will also feed into wider fundraising activities and strategy, supporting the Head of Development Team as needed.

Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated fundraiser to join our successful team as we embark on a major capital campaign to raise £150m. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, this role will be responsible for personally securing six and seven-figure gifts from High-Net-Worth Individuals.
The Senior Philanthropy Manger will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, the Senior Principal Gifts Manager and the rest of the Philanthropy team, feeding into the overall strategy of high-value partnerships. They will manage a portfolio of funder accounts which deliver long term, high-value strategic partnerships as well as building new relationships.
The Senior Philanthropy Manager will also manage 2 roles – Patrons Manager and a Philanthropy Manager (HNWI and Legacies), with oversight of both the Patrons Programme and Legacy programme.
The Philanthropy team is growing and there will be substantial opportunity for professional development within a world-leading cultural organisation.
Main tasks and responsibilities
· Manage a portfolio of prospects, in the UK and abroad, capable of making six and seven-figure gifts.
· Raise income in line with agreed personal and team fundraising targets.
· Working closely with the whole Philanthropy team to coordinate on the overall strategy and targets for maximising philanthropic giving to the NHM.

We are seeking a Corporate Partnerships Manager to join our Fundraising and Communications Team (FRC) at an exciting time in GFS’s history as we enter a new strategic period and turn 150 years old, in 2025. You will lead on the delivery of specific aspects of the organisation’s fundraising strategy including developing new income streams with a focus on corporate partnerships. You will develop broader corporate support and individual giving such as corporate volunteering days and challenge events. About the role
Working closely with the Therapy Manager, Clinical Lead and Director of Services, you will deliver the marketing of a programme of member-led training for external organisations and other services at Headway East London. Working directly with our members, you will deliver projects of a high standard which are co-produced and reflect the diversity of our community. You will take a lead on developing and delivering the marketing material. You will collaborate with our members, staff and partners to advance our aims to educate professionals in the public sector, whilst exploring ways to generate income for the organisation through this source.
Principle duties and responsibilities
1. Identify opportunities to engage external stakeholders with the member-led training project of delivering external training to professionals within the public sector.

The role
The stewardship manager will report to the senior philanthropy operations manager.
We are seeking a creative and driven stewardship manager to join our team on a permanent basis. Working alongside members of the wider team, you will lead on creating and delivering a gold-standard experience for major donors supporting the Royal Free Charity, showcasing the impact their support has across our hospital sites. Your efforts will play a key role in ensuring continued, uplifted support of the charity.
You will play an important role within our philanthropy & campaigns team, helping to build relationships, and increase income, in a pivotal year for the charity. Responsibilities
· Work with members of the philanthropy & campaigns team to create and deliver a gold-standard stewardship experience for major donors supporting the Royal Free Charity, being actively involved across the cycle of a relationship before, during and after a gift.

The team
Our dynamic fundraising department generated £4.5 million through donations in 2023/2024, and we are now preparing for an ambitious multi-million-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the Royal Free Hospital site.
We ride ourselves on being supporter focused and agile, working at the heart of the charity to deliver impact for patients and staff across our hospitals.
Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises two teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:
· Our Philanthropy & Campaigns team builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate organisations, and intermediaries, giving or facilitating donations of £10,000 or more to the charity each year. They lead major appeal activity for the charity, currently focused on the acquisition of a new surgical robot, our forthcoming cancer campaign, our essential volunteering, complementary therapy and support services, the charity’s first patrons’ programme, and special events to support these activities.
· Our Public Fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges. Our database and supporter care teams sit within public fundraising, with their work underpinning and supporting the entire department.
Building on our achievements, our board of trustees has agreed to invest in expanding the fundraising team to develop a sustainable infrastructure that will support our growth ambitions.

Job purpose
The National New Business team are on an exciting trajectory, having recently just reshaped our team to align with the NSPCC’s strategy. We now have a fantastic opportunity to recruit a New Partnerships Manager who will specialise in acquiring Charity of the Year partnerships up to the value of £400k, while also supporting on acquisition of a larger pipeline of high profile, high value 6 - 7 figure partnerships.
You will be responsible for identifying, engaging and securing new national corporate partnerships that make sense and deliver impact. Key Responsibilities:
- Innovate and develop customer-centric products with the Senior Manager, with a focus on virtual events, social events and any other opportunities in this space
- Oversee product delivery from planning to evaluation, collaborating with experts internally and externally, attending events, and representing BHF positively.
- Utilise insights, ensuring data-driven decisions and staying informed on trends for continuous improvement.
- Drive income growth, develop budgets, and monitor financial performance.
- Manage a Product Executive, conducting 1:1s, performance reviews, fostering collaboration and leading by example.
Working arrangements
This is a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office.

About you
As our ideal candidate, you bring experience, energy, and passion to strategically develop and deliver virtual and mass participation events and activities to achieve growth, preferably within a fundraising capacity.
With an excellent understanding of marketing techniques, especially digital, and innovation experience, you have knowledge of a broad range of fundraising activities and principles. You have experience managing and developing a diverse product portfolio and can use customer, market, and financial data to drive long-term growth.
Alongside a clear track record of delivering results, you demonstrate strong collaboration skills and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across various projects. You are a strategic thinker with expertise in managing multiple projects, achieving objectives through analytical insights. Adaptive and excellent at problem-solving, you are responsive to both internal and external factors, with knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the events fundraising space.

The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role of the Income Processing and Sales Ledger Officer is to support the day to day operation of the Finance and Fundraising functions, which are essential to our ability to deliver on our charitable objectives.
In this role you will be responsible for managing and processing donations, processing of other income and receipts, completion of income side bank reconciliations, management of aged debtors and other sales ledger related tasks, processing of Direct Debits, plus completion of other ad-hoc tasks and provision of general administration support.
The successful candidate will need be able to work to deadlines and have strong basic skills in admin, organisation, and IT. The nature of the role requires someone who is able to manage confidential data, is highly numerate and is a problem solver.
This role would best suit someone with previous related experience and knowledge of working in finance, accounting and administration, ideally bringing existing sales ledger knowledge, however applications are also welcomed from those with the required basic skills

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern
This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. This role requires an average 2.5 days a week in the office minimum (115 days minimum per year) given the nature of the job. There will be in blocks in the fundraising area, mainly around appeals (3 or 4 blocks a year), where the successful candidate be expected to come into the office 7 or 8 days in a row.
Apart from that, Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 115 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.
