Since our founder, Kathy Coe MBE, created Pathway Project, we have helped over 25,000 people, with 5,814 hours of support provided in the last year.

About the role

This multifaceted role requires the ability to manage data and compile accurate reports to enable crucial reporting to funders, alongside the ability to write creative and compelling applications for funding from grant makers and funders. This role enables the post holder to facilitate the end to end process from funding application to reporting on contracts won. Alongside this the postholder will have the ability to be creative in generating alternative sources of income to ensure our unrestricted reserves support Pathways ambitious plans. The post holder will work with our already established Fundraising and Outreach Manager to ensure delivery of the Fundraising Strategy as agreed by the board of Trustees.

• To facilitate data collection, consolidate, analyse and organise reports for funders and internal teams with precision and attention to detail.

• To support the COO with daily operations by ensuring that data is accurately and appropriately recorded in the case management system to facilitate the reporting required.

• To aid in the administration and advancement of the online case management system.

• To generate reports and statistics to disseminate the results of the Pathway Project.

• To work with the CEO, COO, Fundraising and Outreach Manager to deliver the fundraising strategy and create a pipeline of future funding applications.

• To write compelling and high quality grant applications, online applications for funding or funding bids to existing and new funders, who may be Foundations, Grant Makers, Corporations, or Trusts.

• To work with colleagues to include storytelling and case studies within funding, trust or grant applications to demonstrate the impact of the Pathway Project whilst maintaining the confidentiality of our clients.

• To maintain accurate records of grants, bids and applications made alongside outcomes and a pipeline of future applications.

• Maintaining excellent relationships with funders, grant makers or trust managers and ensuring the data required for reporting is recorded accurately to facilitate that reporting.

• To implement prospect research on existing and new potential donors (major gifts, corporates, trusts and foundations, individual donors), creating contact plans and strategies.

• To attend and participate in both staff and stakeholder meetings, as and when required.

• To strictly adhere to the specified timeframes and milestones mandated by our funders and guarantee the prompt submission of bids, reports and returns.

Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) is an award-winning charity that offers welfare, wellbeing and mental health support and services to veterans of the UK Armed Forces and Merchant Navy in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight. They provide a Drop-In model of support, a welfare advice service, a range of peer-supported wellbeing activities and social groups, and access to psychology, psychiatry, and therapy services.

VOS has secured additional funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to continue the work of the Thrive Together programme (formerly VPPP) in the South East, which is designed to bring together a network of veterans’ support agencies that will take an informed approach across the South East region to ensure that there are connected pathways, which work well for veterans; that there are safe places for veterans to go, which connect into these pathways; and that volunteers and staff who support veterans have access to training and work closely with other organisations within veterans’ mental health pathways.

The Network and Partnership Development Manager will work with the Thrive Together Portfolio Manager and manage the Thrive Together regional ‘cluster’ Partners in defined geographical regions to identify and build a meaningful network of organisations delivering support to veterans, their families and carers. The Network and Partnership Development Manager will act as deputy Thrive Together Portfolio Manager as and when required.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

We are excited to be seeking a talented and motivated individual to join Southampton Hospitals Charity as our Head of Grants and Programmes. This will be our first Head of Grants and Programme role and will provide the right candidate with a rare opportunity to implement and oversee the delivery of the Charity’s new £2.5 million dedicated grant programmes from pre to post award.

Covering four programmes (Patient Care, Research & Development, Clinical Innovation and Staff Education & Improvement), the post holder will be responsible for managing circa £2.5M of expenditure each year, ensuring they deliver impact for patients, staff and donors. 

This role will be key, as we launch our ambitious new strategy to grow our reach and impact, and this opportunity offers the right candidate the chance to implement new ways of working as part of the management team and leading a committed team.

Main Responsibilities:

Grant Management & Compliance  

• Oversee the delivery of the charity’s dedicated grant programmes from pre to post award: Patient Care, Research & Development, Clinical Innovation and Staff Education & Improvement. The post holder will be responsible for circa £2.5M expenditure per annum ensuring they deliver impact for patients, staff and donors (grant values typically range from £2K to <£0.5M) 

• Oversee the management of the charity's current grant portfolio; ensuring grants are delivered on time and in accordance with internal processes 

• Ensure compliance with financial obligations (inc. payments, reconciliations and audits) and regulatory obligations (inc. data management, grant award contracts, procurement) 

• Ensure grant making processes reflects and champion current best practice

• Oversee the implementation and management of a Grants Advisory Committee 

Relationship & Stakeholder Management 

• Build relationships with key stakeholders within UHS, including senior health professionals, executive team members, partners and beneficiaries

• Act as primary liaison for the charity’s grant making responsibilities, ensuring alignment with charitable objectives and 2024-2027 strategic mission

• Provide support to Director of Operations and Resources and the Senior Leadership Team, fostering a collaborative approach to grant programme delivery in tandem with fundraising, communication and art programme goals

• Develop strategies for allocating resources effectively and the ongoing review of grant programmes (aiming for continual improvement) 

• Develop strategies for working in partnership with UHS for joint decision making, the effective management of capital awards and high value grant requests 

• Identify new grant opportunities and potential partnerships to diversify funding streams

• Maximise grant impact by contributing to the business planning process 

Evaluation, Reporting & Impact  

• Oversee processes for effective grant monitoring, reporting and analysis of grants portfolio 

• Develop and implement an evaluation framework for the charity’s grants programme, ensuring this is embedded and linked to organisation wide reporting mechanisms and measurable outcomes are achieved 

• Use data and insights to inform the continuous improvement of grant-making practices and programme development 

• Utilise information captured to promote grant programmes and support Fundraising and Communications Directorate

• Support the Impact and Evaluation Officer 

Programme Delivery Management  

• Develop a robust online grant management system

• Co-ordinate cross-functional activities and resources to enhance the delivery of grant programmes 

• Ensure the design and delivery of grant programmes underpins strategic objectives 

• Develop strategic engagement programmes

• Keep abreast of changing external trends 

• Manage any Charity-led programmes as required and ensure all programmes are appropriately managed and evaluated for impact and value for money.

Purpose of the Public Events Manager role is to:

The principle purpose of the role of Museum Public Events Manager will be to lead the development of our public events programme at their site and all aspects of its implementation. Your role

As a Social Media Executive, your focus will be to…

• Deliver first class customer service to supporters, volunteers and members of the public who engage with the RNLI on social media

About you

This role will play a pivotal part in leading the successful delivery of the annual hospice fundraising event programme. To be successful in the role of Senior Events Officer, you will need:

• Considerable experience of event management to engage and retain supporters, with project management experience to lead on event planning and delivery.
• Experience with databases, segmentation and use of data analytics.
• Ability to work across teams in a collaborative positive manner proactively engaging colleague support.

The Regional Business Development Manager ensures WaterAid is well positioned within donor and consortium partner/key supplier markets as a “go to” partner for sustainable WASH programming. This position plays a key internal role, through monitoring, shaping and highlighting the country funding needs to WaterAid federation members and facilitating funding flows to countries.

Key accountabilities among others include:

Strategy

• Support country programmes in developing fundraising, donor and consortium partner strategies from a deep understanding of how to position WA’s programmes within the current donor marketplace

Pipeline development and management:

• Be responsible for growing and monitoring the pipeline of relevant funding opportunities to WA country programmes, coordinating with fundraising members to communicating donor intelligence, ensuring a balanced portfolio of funding types and ambition.
• Provide strategic support to the sign on of larger funding opportunities, ensuring that WA country teams are supported to negotiate favourable positions within consortia and are able to effectively assess and mitigate for delivery risk
• Support the improvement of cost recovery in restricted funding contracts through supporting country teams to communicate and negotiate with donors

Funding skills and capabilities development:

• Monitor the fundraising skills, capabilities and investment levels within country teams, and support the development of both funding focused roles and the capability of country Senior Management Teams to engage with donors and develop funding propositions
• Play a leading role in co-creating and embedding business processes, systems, and policies for restricted funding
• Build confidence in pursuing different funding modalities, including commercial contracts through accompanying country teams in the development of complex and novel bidding approaches (with the support of global teams and consultants)

Leadership and Line management

• Responsible for working with a high-performing team of Country Funding Leads and Donor Relationship Leads across the globe. The Regional Business Development Manager will contribute to strategic and operational planning processes; define and deliver an agreed set of team performance targets; and providing guidance, coaching and support in helping peers achieve optimum performance.
• Responsible for the matrix management of the Heads of Funding and Business Development at the country level.
• Lead on promotion of the cross country and regional learning and best practices on business development and bid development and management.

To be successful, you will need the following:

• Master’s Degree level qualification in international development, economics or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in planning, securing and managing funds from institutional donors such as USAID, EC, UK Government, International Financial Institutions such as the WB, AfDB, local and international corporates, trust and foundations such as Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation etc.
• Substantial experience and knowledge of the institutional funding space and a deep understanding of bilateral and multilateral donors’ routes to market
• Demonstrable track record of developing and delivering on strategies for restricted income growth.
• Strategic networker with the ability to identify and transform opportunities into tangible results
• Ability to work in a flexible and agile way to identify opportunities and address challenges
• Ability to take complex information and simplify for audiences
• Being bilingual will be an asset
