Role summary
This role will support the expanding Fundraising team with all fundraising activities to ensure that good relationships are maintained with all Alcohol Change UK supporters. The Fundraising Assistant will undertake the financial administration and recording of all fundraising income as well as being the first point of contact for the team ensuring Alcohol Change UK delivers high levels of supporter care.

NEON is a capacity and infrastructure building organisation that exists to accelerate the transition to a new economy by building the power of social movements in the UK. This role is all about leading the charge on fundraising to power NEON’s exciting 2025-2029 strategy. You’ll work closely with the ED: Strategy & Fundraising to shape and roll out a bold new approach, keeping our mission front and centre, as well as our Head of Finance to revolutionise our fundraising management systems internally. Working closely with the Business Development Director and Business Development Manager the Fundraising Manager will play a pivotal role in the creation, development and implementation of a robust and diverse fundraising strategy that contributes to the overarching income generation strategy, that meet both current and future operational needs.

ROLE PURPOSE
The Fundraising Manager will play a critical role in maximising income for St George’s Hospital Charity through the development and management of relationships with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners. This position requires a can-do, proactive attitude in securing unrestricted and restricted philanthropic support for key projects, particularly our Time For a Change fundraising appeal that aims to raise £5m to transform our children’s wards at St George’s Hospital.
You will be responsible for growing restricted and unrestricted income through the development of strategic, long-term partnerships with Trusts and Foundations and Corporate Partners that provide a sustainable source of income. Working closely with Head of High Value and Director of Fundraising and Communications the postholder will be instrumental in developing a strong and realistic pipeline prospects and securing regular five-six figure gifts. You will maintain £1.2m income/year with ambitions to grow this income to £1.7m/year from Trusts and Foundations and Corporate Partnerships over the next 5 years and by 29/30. The ideal candidate will be proactive and solutions focussed. They will have a proven track record of philanthropy including relationship management, proposal writing, budget development and collaboration with internal teams to communicate impactful fundraising appeal.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising Responsibilities
- Develop a strong and realistic pipeline of Trusts and Foundations and Corporate Partnerships that align with our strategic objectives and fundraising appeals
- Be proactive and ambitious supporting the growth of our income across Trusts, Foundations and Corporate Partnerships from £1.2m/year to £1.7m/year over 5 years.
- Develop and manage a robust income portfolio, researching prospects, making approaches, building relationships and submitting compelling proposals and application to Trusts and Foundations and Corporates.
- Build project budgets from scratch.
- Create tailored stewardship opportunities for funders which effectively communicate the difference their support has made. To include face-to-face meetings, hospital visits, written reports/digests and attendance at relevant events to strengthen relationships and enhance donor engagement.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Head of High Value and Director of Fundraising and Communications, highlighting milestones, KPIs, and potential risks to income generation.
Corporate Partnerships Management
- Contribute to and implement the strategy for securing new corporate partnerships while maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing partners to ensure ongoing support.
- Develop creative and impactful partnership pitches and proposals to attract new corporate sponsors.
- Oversee account management plans for existing corporate partners, programming stewardship events, ensuring that reporting is undertaken, engagement is sustained and opportunities for growth are identified and acted upon.
- Work closely with senior volunteers and stakeholders to develop new business leads and maximise partnership potential.
- Collaborate with the Community & Events Manager to leverage corporate opportunities, turning local engagements into larger partnerships.
Trusts and Foundations Management
- Build and maintain income from Trusts and Foundations using prospecting tools and desk-based research.
- Be proactive in approaches to Trusts and Foundations via phone and/or emails
- Develop creative and compelling approaches and applications that are tailored to charitable objectives of funders.
- Build project budgets and fundraising pipelines in line with funders requirements.
- Maintain and manage a calendar of activity for Trusts and Foundations to ensure we deliver an excellent level of stewardship including six-monthly updates and bespoke visits.
Research and Pipeline Management
- Conduct thorough research to identify and qualify potential funders across trusts, foundations, and corporate sectors, maintaining a dynamic philanthropy pipeline.
- Monitor and manage progress through the pipeline, ensuring that prospects are appropriately cultivated and that targets for each stage of the portfolio are met.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and data protection laws throughout the prospect research and relationship management processes.
General Duties
- Maintain accurate records of stakeholder communications in our Raiser’s Edge database and activities in line with data protection obligations and best practices.
- Work with Finance to reconcile income.
- Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to the overall objectives of the fundraising department.
- Working with the Head of High Value ensure our offer to partners is accurately reflected on our website. This may include updating webpages.
- Supporting fundraising events.
- As and when required, provide front desk coverage, welcoming visitors and donors at the Welcome Office and serving as a friendly and helpful representative of the organisation.
- Engage in continuous professional development and participate in regular performance reviews.

The Bureau is the UK’s largest independent non-profit investigative journalism organisation. At the Bureau, our funders and supporters are vital. We are almost entirely funded through grants and donations so – put simply – without their support, we wouldn’t be here.
Although our supporters may come from different backgrounds or have varied priorities, they all share a common goal: tackling the issues across our society that are eroding democracy and driving inequality. They support our work to hold those in power accountable, uncover new evidence to support positive change, and empower citizens.
The Bureau has experienced significant growth over the past three years, increasing our annual income to £2.8m and expanding to a team of more than 40 people. While the majority of our income comes from grants, there is strong potential for further fundraising growth, and we are actively working to diversify our funding streams beyond trusts and foundations.
This is an exciting time to join the Bureau as we continue to build on our strong relationships with existing supporters while exploring new funding opportunities.
Role and Responsibilities:
Support from trusts and foundations is our main source of philanthropic income so we are looking for somebody with experience in grants fundraising who can quickly apply their skills and expertise. You’ll work closely with our Development Director to report to and liaise with current funders, manage a pipeline of prospects and submit successful applications to secure new grants. You’ll also work closely with our other Fundraising Manager, who manages a pipeline focused on our environment, global health, and big tech work, and may be asked to work on these areas from time to time. In addition, you will support in building a major donor programme to diversify and strengthen our funding base. You will collaborate with colleagues at all levels across the organisation, from impact producers to reporters to finance and operations, in a supportive and welcoming culture that values teamwork and shared success.
As an excellent communicator, you will be able to take complex issues and translate them into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with funders and stakeholders. You will also be passionate about building strong relationships with our funders and supporters.
While experience in high net worth fundraising would be a valuable bonus, it is not essential. You don’t need to have raised funds for non-profit media before, but you do need to be excited by our work and able to express the Bureau’s key areas of work and impact in an accessible, accurate and compelling way. We’re a small team, so you’ll need the willingness to pitch in on fundraising tasks – big or small – to ensure the Bureau is in the best possible position to pursue its mission.
We envisage this as a full-time, primarily hybrid working role, working from our London office two/three times a week.
Skills and Experience
• Excellent fundraiser with a demonstrable track record of 3+ years’ experience successfully raising significant funds for charities or non-profits and managing relationships with funders (foundations - essential, high net worth individuals - desirable);
• Strong background in managing grants admin, including due diligence and processing agreements;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to speak and write English fluently;
• Great analytical skills, with experience of researching and identifying new funding sources for various projects;
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities;
• Experience of working with databases and funding pipelines;
• Exceptional time management skills, a professional attitude and meticulous attention to detail;
• Resourceful and able to think creatively with strong problem solving skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate at all levels across the organisation.
• Experience in securing funds for journalism, social justice, civil society, human rights or related causes, particularly from UK funders, is desirable but not essential;

Job specifics
- Hours: Full time hours are 37.5 Monday to Friday
- Location: We are very flexible! Our hybrid working policy is a minimum of two days per month in our London Office office. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to travel to events and meet supporters that will involve some evening and weekend work.

A little bit about the role

The fundraising manager role sits in the fundraising team within the external relations division. The fundraising team is responsible for raising between £1m and £1.5m in fundraised income annually. Frontline’s philanthropic income complements the significant contract income the charity receives from central and local government and enables the charity to carry out its broader mission to create social change for hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged children.
Since we were founded in 2013, Frontline has leveraged its success to build committed, high impact partnerships with a number of prestigious supporters including trusts and foundations, corporates and high net worth individuals. Our new fundraising strategy focuses on continuing to grow our network of supporters by maintaining excellent relationships with our current funders while identifying new potential donors, and at the same time testing and developing fundraising through community and events and individual giving.
The successful candidate will work closely with the head of fundraising and the fundraising officer to implement Frontline’s annual fundraising plan, taking specific responsibility for growing our public fundraising income through community and events fundraising, individual giving and digital fundraising while also supporting building and developing partnerships with corporates. They will work closely with other teams to increase engagement with our fundraising activities from across the organisation, including staff, fellows (alumni of our programmes) and programme participants. The fundraising team is supported by the marketing, events and communications staff of the external relations division.

A little bit about you
We will be looking for applicants who have experience across a range of fundraising areas (in particular, community and events fundraising, individual giving, digital fundraising as well as corporate or major donors) to add strength to the team and allow us to pilot new fundraising initiatives. Frontline is at a turning point of a new fundraising strategy, and we need someone to help drive this forward, finding new opportunities to raise money and support for Frontline.
We have a fast-moving culture within the team and organisation, so we’re looking for someone who is who is well organised, details-focused and can use their initiative to do what works. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. ADSS (Alzheimer's and Dementia Support Services) believes in enabling those who live with dementia to live well. ADSS is Kent’s biggest independent charity dedicated to providing support to people affected by dementia. Following a significant expansion in 2022, the team is now supporting more people than ever before. Main Purpose of Job
ADSS has created the role of Head of Fundraising to consolidate growth and ensure ADSS can care for the people they support into the future. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role represents an exciting opportunity for an experienced, creative and dynamic fundraising leader.
The Head of Fundraising will provide subject matter expertise in fundraising and will implement and evaluate the fundraising strategy in support of ADSS’s mission and vision.
The Head of Fundraising will join the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), participate in committees and working groups with the Charity’s Board of Trustees and lead the Fundraising function within the Charity.
An excellent communicator and relationship builder, the Head of Fundraising will lead the production of compelling cases for support. Digitally adept, with a wealth of knowledge across the charitable sector, with the insight, analytical ability and creativity to build on the Charity’s strengths. The role will require cultivation of new funding streams, whilst providing the highest standards of stewardship to existing donors. It will be key to have an understanding of fundraising processes and how a charity can systemise.
The Head of Fundraising will have skill and experience as a manager of people, projects, and fundraising campaigns and initiatives along with a consistent record of meeting targets. The role will require development of relationships with key stakeholders, supporters and major donors, stewarding these relationships to maximise income generation.
The successful candidate will work with the CEO and Trustees to consolidate existing support and build new relationships to fund the implementation of the Charity’s new strategy up to 2030.

Strategic Leadership

Implement the new fundraising strategy with a target income increasing to £1.5 million by 2030.

About Rockinghorse Children’s Charity
Rockinghorse Children’s Charity supports sick and disabled children across Sussex. We support babies, children and young people, along with their families, at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and The Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex.
We deliver and fund projects that enable doctors and nurses to do more. All of projects are led by the needs of children and young people and their families – the lifesaving medical equipment, the support for parents and families, the toys for children spending time in hospitals across Sussex, the environments and spaces that help children feel more at home when they are in hospital and additional staff to make sure children get the best possible care when they are unwell.
Originally set up in 1967 by Dr Trevor Mann, we have been supporting children for more than 55 years, and in that time, we have supported nearly a million children and their families. As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, including the Trevor Mann Baby Unit, we work with the NHS, charity partners and the Sussex community to ensure children can be children no matter now sick they are.

About the role
In 2022 we launched our three-year strategic plan, which prioritised our activities to enable us to support more babies, children and teenagers. As we enter the final year of this strategy the charity continues to expand and develop its projects and services children all over Sussex.
This role will support the Head of Fundraising & Partnerships in securing income in line with targets across our fundraising portfolio, to ensure we can continue to deliver life-saving projects for children and young people across Sussex.

Duties of the role
Supporting the charity to secure income from across our fundraising portfolio:
Rockinghorse raises money to support children in hospitals, their families and the staff that care for them.
· Support the delivery of a programme of unique and income generating Rockinghorse events according to agreed plans each year, to be determined by postholder in collaboration with the Head of Fundraising & Partnerships.
· Support the creation of new, exciting and innovative events for the charity that support the charity’s objectives – to thank supporters, to engage new and existing supporters, to generate income and/or raise our profile.
· Support with expanding our external and third-party events programme working with external events companies to deliver existing events and developing new ones that support the charity’s mission and maximising the income they generate for the charity.
· Work with our Head of Marketing & Communication to develop seasonal campaigns (Spring and Christmas) that appeal to, educate and inform our supporters and generate income (against agreed targets).
· Maintain and develop the charity’s central database (e-Tapestry) for fundraising activities and supporters.
· Undertake reporting function for fundraising activities and supporters.

Supporting the charity to deliver brilliant, funded projects that support children and their families:
Rockinghorse delivers and funds around 70 projects per year – supporting sick and disabled babies, children, young people and their families in hospitals in Sussex.
· Work with Head of Fundraising & Partnerships to match projects to partners, supporters and appeals – to ensure our projects are funded and delivered.
· Work with Head of Fundraising & Partnerships to create case for supports for our projects that appeal to and attract a range of supporters.
· Work with Projects Manager, project leads and Head of Marketing & Communication to create and disseminate project updates and communication to ensure our supporters are informed, educated and engaged in our work.
· Work with the Head of Marketing and Communications and project leads to build up a bank of case studies, quotes and stories we can use to feed back to supporters.
Support the charity more widely:
· Represent Rockinghorse at events, activities and networks, building strong peer relationships and sharing best practice.

· Carry out other such duties as may be required for the purposes of the charity; this will include working during evenings and weekends as required and the postholder would be expected to work flexibly to do so.
