We are seeking a dedicated Finance Business Partner to join our team, focused on providing strategic financial support to the Charities team. The Charities team supports Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust via our three Charity brands - Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity, Evelina London Children’s Charity, and Guy’s Cancer Charity – by providing funding generated through a mix of public fundraising, philanthropic support and contributions from our endowment. Our fundraising is currently embarking on a period of growth with a strategy of investment and increased activity in order to achieve a step change growth in donation income.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in aligning financial objectives with organisational goals, supporting both fundraising and funding activities, and ensuring financial integrity across all operations. Your main responsibility will be to serve as a liaison between Finance and the Charities team, advocating for both parties to maximise value generation and coordination

Key Responsibilities

Budgeting, Planning and Reporting: 
 

• Ensure financial reporting, especially the monthly income and expenditure report, is tailored to the organisation's needs and aligned with its structure.
• Lead from a finance perspective the budgeting and forecasting process for Charities' activities, encompassing fundraising, funding, and special fund annual planning.
• Participate in the preparation of the Foundation's consolidated accounting, audit, cash flow forecasting, and planning as needed.
• Data Insight and Integrity:
• Have a thorough understanding of the management, maintenance, flow, and reconciliation of financial data pertaining to charities across diverse systems, including but not limited to Access Financials, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, and Power BI. Be capable of scrutinising data integrity and articulating significant discrepancies.
• Conduct rigorous analysis of financial data, trends, and performance metrics to derive insights and offer recommendations for informed decision-making.

Business Partnership:

• Serve as a key partner to Charities Leadership, challenging assumptions and activities to ensure strategic alignment.
• Provide proactive support to Charities Leadership in financial decision-making.
• Provide support for both new and existing fundraising and funding activities, recognising their impact on financial processes.
• Support development of the culture of value for money within Charities.
• Support the Charities team’s financial knowledge development.

Collaboration:
 

• To support the Charities’ team with any new process, including working with other teams to ensure end-to-end financial integrity.
• Collaborate effectively with the Finance team to enhance performance and ensure alignment with organisational objectives.

Skills and Experience

Knowledge and qualifications
 

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Understanding of the unique financial challenges and regulatory framework of the charity sector. Knowledge of FRS102 and SORP.
• Strategic financial knowledge.

Experience
 

• Minimum of 2 years finance working experience alongside fundraisers in a similar or larger fundraising organisation (e.g. Staff number 100+; fundraising income £10 million+).
• Demonstrable success in preparing consolidated management information and forecasts related to fundraising activities.
• Solid strategic financial acumen and commercial awareness.
• Established track record of cultivating successful business relationships and partnerships.

Skills and abilities

• Highly numerate with advanced Excel skills (essential, will be tested).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills (essential).
• Advanced user of Access Financials, Access Analytics and Access Office Integration (desirable).
• User experience of Salesforce, Power BI and Raiser’ Edge (desirable)

The Role

The Role

In your role as Area Manager for Glasgow you'll lead your dispersed team through in-person support visits, 1:1s, phone chats, team and individual communications, and virtual and in-person meetings.

During support visits, leading by example, you'll ensure Fundraisers uphold the charity’s standards, code of conduct, values and brand through their communication and display. You'll do at least one monthly recruiting shift with each team member, providing valuable feedback to Fundraisers and follow up individual action plans for all team members. Area Managers are expected to be role models and consistently demonstrate and uphold standards and values-led behaviours.

As part of this role, you will be expected to travel to different locations in the central belt of Scotland and on occasions more widely throughout the surrounding areas in order to support your team, for which a company van will be provided, and associated expenses covered. Please note that, as a result, a full driving licence that is valid in the UK is a requirement for this position.

The is a critical role in the organisation to ensure that philanthropic income is implemented in line with donor expectations and ensuring any obligations are stipulated in gift and grant agreements. The Philanthropy Implementation Manager will play an active role in developing and delivering gift implementation improvement projects, acting as a pivotal person between fundraising and finance teams across the organisation. The role is key to ensure that fundraisers are securing gifts in line with departmental policies. The role will also have a particular focus on programme management, ensuring that gifts are advertised and implemented.

The successful postholder will quickly build strategic relationships with key internal stakeholders that will support the work of Fundraising and Supporter Development team, supporting fundraisers working in Major Gifts, whilst not directly involved in the work, you will be able to provide advice and guidance to staff working within these income streams, as well as work with the Business Support Officer to support the management of securing philanthropic gifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with fundraisers and colleagues in the Supporter Operations and Donor Relations teams, to ensure that philanthropic gifts are correctly implemented in line with the donor's expectations and the terms of their gift agreements.
• Work with key internal stakeholders to ensure the funding is used correctly and pledge payments are fulfilled.
• Design complex gift implementation strategies.
• Develop and monitor systems that ensure fundraiser compliance with policies and procedures relating to the implementation of donations. This will also include supporting the Philanthropy Team in monitoring gifts in stewardship, highlighting any gifts requiring re-solicitation.
• Use relationship management techniques to ensure that the relevant stakeholders are notified of any changes or delays to gift implementation. For example, capital builds, recruitment of key posts, progress in research projects.
• Support the Philanthropy Team and wider Directorate in managing business processes, developing processes, and review of key gift documentation, that will support future implementation of philanthropic donations.

The Fundraising Manager – Legacies and Individual Giving is responsible for developing and implementing plans to maximise income from individual donors and legacy gifts. This is achieved through innovative campaigns that grow our supporter base, drive donations, legacy pledges and gifts as well as strengthening our brand.

The post holder manages external agencies specialising in individual giving and legacies and leads on our donor communication and engagement programme. The role supports the organisation’s purpose to make a significant impact on the lives of people living with visual impairment in Scotland by maximising fundraising income to deliver brilliant services and create a positive impact on our ability to deliver for the long term. 

This role would suit someone who is already operating at a senior fundraiser or manager level, with significant experience of individual giving especially as we see so much potential there. This role lines manages the Supporter Fundraiser (covering community and events) and the Fundraising and Engagement Administrator, so it is a great opportunity to broaden understanding and experience of leading other income streams.

Main Responsibilities

You will be responsible for overseeing the community fundraising activity across London and the South region of the UK, supporting the Senior Management Team to deliver the national Community Fundraising strategy.
You will manage your own patch in London and line manage 2 regionally based fundraisers covering the South West and South Central regions. You'll focus on creating amazing experiences for individuals, corporates and community organisations, building loyalty and lifetime value for the organisation.

Ideal Candidate

You will have experience in executing ambitious regional growth plans within Community Fundraising, with demonstrable examples of achieving income growth. You will have a passion for building excellent relationships with your supporters to increase loyalty and life-long relationships with the charity, alongside an ability to develop new supporters via a variety of income streams including regional corporates.
You will have demonstrable experience of using insight and data to make recommendations for income growth and to further support relationships with supporters.
It is desirable, but not essential, that you have experience in directly managing staff members. But you could be the ideal person for this role if you have transferable skills in developing others to create an environment of support and high performance, and a passion to develop in this area.

In this exciting and challenging role you will support the fundraising team to build and develop relationships with corporates which result in the generation of income and beneficial strategic partnerships for Surrey Wildlife Trust. Reporting to the Corporate Partnerships Manager and working with other members of the Fundraising and Communications teams, this role will be responsible for account support for existing corporate members and partners, creation and delivery of corporate communications plans and organisation of corporate volunteering events.

Using existing leads plus building new relationships, your creative flair will generate compelling content and proposals tailored to different audiences and feed into press releases, newsletters, pitches and social media posts.  There are real opportunities to shine whilst promoting our essential aim to connect nature.

Travel across Surrey will be a necessary part of the role to visit our projects, sites, donors and other partners.

The Fundraising Officer - Events role sits in the Events team. This team is responsible for a portfolio of third party organised sports events - such as London Marathon, Tough Mudder, Cardiff Half and skydives - that will raise more than £4.5 million in the next financial year.

The Events team is a part of a wider Community, Events and Products Fundraising team. Our vision is to engage, grow and inspire a community of passionate fundraisers to power the fight for mental health. Because together, we can change lives.

You'll play a pivotal role in the Community, Events and Products Fundraising team's strategic objective to sustain and improve the portfolio to raise £12.9million by March 2026

This is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover a secondment.

Key duties and responsibilities

The post holder will:

-Steward event participants; this could include undertaking welcome calls, sending supporter communications, providing ongoing fundraising support, following up non-payments, personalised thanking, and supporter surveys. This can be done across a range of channels including mail, email, and telephone, online and face to face.

-Attend events to help enhance our supporters experience and deepen their relationship with Mind.

-Work with the Senior Fundraising Officer to deliver events fundraising activity. This can include planning, writing and submitting briefs, generating marketing and stewardship communications, working with third party agencies, setting up web pages, delivering memorable on the day experiences for our supporters, reporting and analysing live activity and conducting evaluations.

-Analyse and interpret data, including marketing and stewardship performance, and adjust tactics to continuously improve and ensure results are met.

-Produce high quality analysis reports for activities, including recommendations to inform and improve future fundraising.

-Work with our media agency and internal Digital Teams to achieve Mind's digital-first strategy, attending training opportunities with internal teams and external agencies to upskill as needed, and thinking digital-first in the briefing of all new activity.

-Maintain high standards of data capture by ensuring data entered on systems are accurate and timely, in accordance with the team's requirements.

-Experience and a proven track record of managing volunteers to undertake a fundraising activity and exceed their targets.

- A commitment to understanding Mind's audiences and delivering a memorable fundraising experience through excellent marketing and stewardship.
