HOMES FOR WELLS is looking for a dynamic new Chief Executive to lead our organisation into the next phase. As a small local Housing Association in the beautiful town of Wells-next-the-Sea we house local key workers in affordable rented accommodation.
We are a Charitable Community Benefit Society, a RSL and a CLT. We have a board of volunteers and two part time staff – a Chief Executive and an Administrator.
We are seeking a new Chief Executive to be responsible for the day to day running of the organisation which currently manages around 30 properties.
The successful applicant will have housing and management experience, good IT skills and a positive outlook.
This is a 3 day a week position, but we can be flexible, and we expect you to be too. Some evenings will be required.
Salary according to experience but we will pay up to £50,000 full time equivalent.
About You
We’re looking for a dynamic person with drive, energy and enthusiasm.
You will have a track record of leading and managing and will have experience of housing associations and their governance.
You will be confident in working with local government officials, other stakeholders and tenants.
As well as an understanding of the law relating to residential tenancies you will have strong numeracy and literacy skills and experience of providing financial reports. You will be skilled and experienced in partnership working and in facilitating the best performance in others, partners and contractors alike.
You will enjoy getting the job done and be used to dealing with multiple priorities at one time as well as spotting new opportunities to raise the profile of our cause.
The Role
The role is 3 days per week ideally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with some flexibility for different hours subject to proper support for the Administrator. Some evenings and weekend working will be required including monthly board meetings, HFW events and meetings at times convenient to Tenants.
The role is based at our office in Wells next the Sea and reports to the Chair.

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Project Worker to join the Lucy Faithfull Foundation’s Children & Young People’s Team. Our work makes meaningful and lasting difference to young people’s lives by preventing harmful sexual behaviour and by responding to incidents to restore safety and promote positive outcomes.
This new Project Worker role will support the delivery of a varied range of projects across our young people services, also offering opportunities to contribute to the development of exciting, new, youth-led initiatives. As part of your role as Project Worker, you will support in the development and delivery of our young people’s website, Shore, as well as providing non-judgemental and anonymous advice and support via our chat and email service.

Alongside hybrid working, this role will be based at either our office in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire or Epsom, Surrey.

This exciting new role is perfect for a candidate who wants to deliver an immediate impact in their work and is enthusiastic about bringing people long with them, through a combination of:
- On-the-day supervision to our paid and voluntary staff across various workstreams.
- Conducting case review of debt issues (supported by our Quality of Advice and Case Review team) to ensure a gold standard in the quality of our advice.
- Playing a leadership role in nurturing partnerships, such as with council officers and specialist debt charities, to support our debt advice work and create pathways for client solutions.
- Shaping our directory of services for debt advice by supporting our leadership team to identify key areas of debt advice, desired client outcomes, and the steps required to resolve those client issues.
- Design and deliver training on debt issues to both paid and voluntary staff, as well as to community stakeholders.
- Supervise and monitor volunteers carrying out a small amount of casework where the client’s issue is of sufficient complexity to warrant engaging your expertise.
- Guaranteeing compliance with Financial Conduct Authority rules and regulations.
- Leading on research and campaign issues relating to debt and identifying where we can make a difference locally through our advocacy and case studies.
