The Head of Communications is a new senior role with leadership responsibility for:
Developing and delivering an integrated communications and engagement strategy to bring the diocesan vision, strategic plan and key programme areas to life, and build buy-in with stakeholders (e.g. parishes and congregations in the diocese) across a range of media.
Leading a digital channel refresh, designing channels (e.g. new website) and content around stakeholder needs and accessibility.
Day-to-day operational activity
- Advise senior colleagues (e.g. the Bishop, Diocesan Secretary, Archdeacons, etc) on all communications and engagement matters, contributing to the formation of relevant policies meeting diverse audience needs
- Line management of the Communications Team, lead on the preparation of the team’s annual operating plan, progress and KPI reporting, and oversee the preparation of the team’s annual budget and be accountable for all related expenditure.
- Keep up to date on best practice within the charity sector, latest communications and engagement insight, learning, and tools to future proof the digital offering.
- Build and maintain contacts with the Communications and Engagement community across the Church of England (which includes the East Midlands Communications network, the National Communications network and the teams at Church House, London and Lambeth Palace) to share good practice, skills and expertise.
- Build and maintain contacts with stakeholder partners e.g. Visit Derby, Visit Derbyshire, Peak District National Park.Lead the compilation, design, production and distribution of accessible printed, audio-visual, and digital materials.
- Take overall editorial responsibility for the development and management of all digital channel content (including the website) for internal and external audiences.
- Lead an expansion of the diocese’s and bishop’s social media presence, sourcing or developing content, sharing newsworthy information from across our diocese, and sharing impact reports.

Main Responsibilities:
- Line manage and appraise staff in line with Pecan’s procedures: Foodbank Manager, Pantry Manager, Operations Manager, and the Development Manager Community Food Programmes.

- Develop and oversee food strategy for Pecan’s food services, implementing the vision to end the need for food banks, re‑imagining the food services offer and including a cash-first approach.
- Develop and manage partnerships with authorities, corporates, churches, community groups and networks to support the successful development of programmes.

About this role:
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the Communications and Policy Manager will support SIB’s track record of sector, government and media engagement, notably the high standard of publication set through its media partnerships with Tortoise and the Financial Times, its contributions to the policy landscape in the social sector, and its in-house data analysis and insight generation. This new post will contribute to SIB’s ongoing communications and policy work and its reach and influence.
Key responsibilities
1. Support the delivery of a comprehensive plan for our communications and policy activity, combining ongoing promotional communications, specific activities for funds and programmes, and proactively generated content and opportunities to influence
2. Co-ordinating with SIB partners in developing and delivering communication work, on major projects such as the Youth Investment Fund, the Recovery Loan Fund and the Enterprise Development Programme; ensuring that it is powered by data and customer insight of the highest quality
3. Keeping track of policy developments in areas of strategic importance to SIB, notably in social investment, youth, community energy and infrastructure investment. Writing briefings on key policy developments related to SIB’s strategic priorities, proactively identifying opportunities to further our policy agenda; also researching and preparing responses for relevant external consultations, using SIB data and evidence
4. Identifying, cultivating and maintaining relationships and partnerships with key policy, research and communications stakeholders
5. Attending and providing oversight to the Social Investment Forum, as part of SIB’s secretariat and hosting
6. Writing, editing and producing engaging and relevant content at pace for web, social media and e-newsletters, as well as earned and paid channels
7. Management of any external suppliers of communications and policy activities, including agencies, designers, consultants and think tanks
8. Working with the Marketing Manager, Marketing and Events Coordinator, Business Development Manager and wider team to deliver successful external events with customers, stakeholders and partners including attendance at Party Conferences.

- Strong understanding of UK political context, especially as it concerns the social economy, and parliamentary process

About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy CEO this is an exciting role supporting one of the UK’s leading social investors.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs Accounts Payable function; processes transactions in the accounting system and maintains accounts payable files for vendors. Primary point of contact for questions and assistance regarding entry and payment of invoices.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Subject matter expert on Unit 4 ERP System Vendor Master File and accounts payable, provide support to other Internews staff also entering invoices.

- Organize and maintain A/P files.
- Research vendor payment history in response to queries from Internews staff and others.
- Cross trained as backup staff to other department functions, including PSC payment processing and expense reimbursements and AP mailbox cover.

As the Impact and Insights Manager, you will work with the Head of Financial Education to refine and improve the overall approach to JFF’s impact management processes and outcomes framework. This will begin with developing a specific M&E and content gathering approach to our current work in schools. Using our recently developed Theory of Change framework, you will build and oversee our strategic path to effectively gathering impact data and insights. ABOUT THE ROLE
People who work in operations have a multiplier effect, increasing the efficiency of their colleagues within the organisation by constructing processes that ensure the organisation operates smoothly and at top capacity. An excellent and more succinct description of operations management as a field comes from Gabrielle Zevin’s Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow:
Though it took Sadie years to admit this to Sam, Marx did prove incredibly useful that summer. No, Marx wasn’t a game designer. He wasn’t an ace programmer, like Sadie, and he couldn’t draw, like Sam. But he did almost everything else for them, and his contributions ranged from the pedestrian, but necessary, to the creatively essential. Marx organised workflow, so Sadie and Sam were more aware of what the other was doing and what they needed to be doing. He made long lists of supplies they would need. He was more than liberal with his credit card—they always needed more memory and storage, and they were regularly burning out graphics cards—and he must have made fifty trips to the large computer store in Central Square that summer. He opened a bank account, and an LLC, Go, Ichigo, Go. The Operations team provides operational support to AIM (e.g., human resource management, finance, productivity). The team also supports our incubated charities, assisting with their initial set-up after the program so they can hit the ground running, as well as ongoing ad-hoc requests and advice as needed. Added to this, Operations supports other participants in programs run by AIM(e.g., people completing fellowships with our research team). While this is less than for the Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, it increases as these programs mature.
Our Operations team currently consists of ~2.8 FTE – our Chief Operating Officer (previous Managing Director and CTO of Founders Pledge), our Director of Operations (with a mixed background in legal services, management consulting, and scale-up operations), and a Senior Operations Manager (with a background in risk and security management in low- and middle-income countries). The team also relies on external contractors for some of its functions (e.g., bookkeeping, legal advice).

APPLICATION PROCESS
Our application processes aim to be highly predictive, time-effective, and informative for you. This includes childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called ‘honour’ based crimes such as forced marriage.
