This vacancy has arisen as the result of the retirement of our current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Autumn 2024. About You
To fulfil this role, we are looking for an exceptional leader with a CIH Level 5 Diploma in Housing / an appropriate professional qualification.
You will have a diligent, proactive approach, forward-thinking and keen to develop opportunities for our services to make a positive impact to the communities we serve. You’ll demonstrate commercial acumen and business planning skills with the ability to think strategically and make critical decisions.
With a desire for building and maintaining strong relationships, you’ll naturally have a growth mindset and resilience, with a pragmatic and collaborative approach to challenges. This includes a proven track record of managing and developing a cohesive staff team and the provision of high quality customer focused services. What We Offer
Actual salary is £38,400 – 44,800 p.a. (pro rata) based on a 4-day week (28 hrs p.w.)

This role is based at our head office in Solihull, plus Agile / Homeworking. The role requires operational travel within the Solihull borough; therefore, the successful candidate will need a full driving licence.

Katherine Low Settlement is a busy, local charity that has been serving Battersea and the wider Wandsworth community since 1924. We are dedicated to building stronger communities and enable people to challenge and find ways out of poverty and isolation.
We run a range of our own community services to support older people and children, young people, and their families from refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people.
Role Purpose
Provide strategic leadership for KLS’ Refugee Family Programme, ensuring that programme direction and delivery is strategically aligned, responds to learning and changes in context, and maximises our impact in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing clear and steady leadership and management to all aspects of our newly formed Refugee Family programme, which has grown out of previous separate projects to better meet the holistic needs of people we support.
- Managing and developing the budget and finances; whilst supporting the fundraising lead to secure its financial viability.
- Directly lead the scoping and planning of the Refugee Family Programme Strategy to:
- Develop and expand existing programmes.
- Identify opportunities to create, innovate and improve projects within the Refugee Family Programme - such as community outreach workshops, advocacy support, Educational Classes, and Groups, Mentoring and Clubs - to meet the needs of the people we support and those who may need our support in the future.
- Undertake regular horizon scanning and environmental analysis to ensure KLS has a full understanding of the potential for growth and programme development associated with the current, future and changing demand and need.
- Build and maintain effective networks and partnerships that will ultimately support people to realise their potential.
- Work with the Chief Operating Officer to develop appropriate processes, systems and working practices that create a continuous improvement approach and ensure insights-based impact reporting, evaluation and decision making.
- Through effective networking and building of positive relationships, act as an ambassador for the organisation to effectively promote and raise awareness of both the organisation and its work.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to your direct reports and overall team to achieve both the organisation’s overall vision and ensure excellence in delivery.
- Devise and design programme concepts and specifications and provide strategic recommendations for programme developments using effective research, planning, monitoring, and evaluation, ensuring projects meet needs of individuals, families, and the community.
- Ensure our programme delivery model is financially viable and sustainable, and underpinned by quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Maintain oversight of the deployment of financial, people and organisational resources, ensuring effective budget management and use of resources across all programme delivery teams.

Administration
- Recruit, train, manage and support the team, holding regular supervision sessions, annual appraisals and appropriate training and development.
- Ensure performance management and quality systems are in place to monitor and evaluate the project’s work, processes.
- Follow KLS’ safer recruiting process and ensure safeguarding members is a priority across the team.
- Ensure all member and project records are kept up to date on Salesforce.
- Work with the Senior Leadership and Finance Director to manage the programme budget, maintain financial records, monitor income and expenditure against budgets and targets, and report regularly and accurately to KLS’ Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.
- Oversee the team’s use of our database, Salesforce, for managing the programme, ensuring data accuracy and completeness, and working with external consultants to customise and integrate the database with KLS’ website, referral, and evaluation forms.
Safeguarding
- Responsible for embedding safeguarding best practice and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures across the programme team, ensuring that safeguarding is at the forefront of KLS’ delivery.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the Refugee Family Programme Team, working with Safeguarding Officers and Duty Leads to ensure all safeguarding concerns are managed and recorded appropriately and safeguarding cover is maintained across the team in line with KLS’ procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive leadership and management experience, coupled with a track record of leading the strategic development of services for adults and children (of all ages) from the refugee community that improve their access to education and justice, reduce their isolation and improve their ability to navigate their journey.
- Extensive experience of working with people from vulnerable groups, especially children and young people, ensuring that clients’ needs are at the forefront of service planning and delivery.
- Experience of working with refugee communities.
- Up to date knowledge of the English education system, rights to education, the barriers facing refugee communities in accessing education and how these might be addressed.
- Understanding and experience of safeguarding, and health & safety (including trips and residentials for children and families), in theory and in practice.
- Experience of providing advice and advocacy support to people from vulnerable groups.
- Direct involvement in adopting a strategic approach to either replicating existing or developing new services / programmes in response to anticipated future demand or a change in the landscape.
- Evidence of successful strategic and operational resource management
- Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at a senior and strategic level.
- The ability to take a creative approach in respect to packages of support.

Job Purpose
This is a critical role, sitting at the heart of hyh, the purpose of which is to provide high quality administrative support to the CEO, coordinate and administer the leadership and governance of the organisation and oversee the smooth running of the office.
Administration and Support for the CEO
- Be a step ahead at all times in providing executive support to the CEO including: diary organisation, making appointments, responding to invitations, dealing with correspondence, and liaising with external partners and arranging travel.
- Conduct research, prepare papers and briefings, produce PowerPoint presentations.
- Project support for organisation wide projects.
Leadership and governance support
- Plan and coordinate the efficient running of leadership and governance meeting cycles, including scheduling meetings, booking venues, circulating documents, collating reports, minute taking, maintaining action logs, arranging refreshments etc. This includes the Board of Trustees and two sub-committees (Governance and Finance), Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Leadership Team (LT).
- Provide high level admin support to other members of the SLT as required (Head of Services, Head of Fundraising & Communications, Finance Manager).
- Coordination and administration of internal staff meetings and communications, including monthly Team Briefings and bi-annual Organisation Days.
- Provide on-going support to Trustees, including responsibility for their induction and on-going training
- Maintain and update trustee records and registers, including Charity Commission and Companies House registrations.
- Manage our policies and procedures and oversee the annual cycle of policy reviews.
Office management
- Oversee the smooth and efficient running of the office, ensuring that it is a great working environment for staff where supplies never run out, the office is clean and tidy, and all staff have the furniture and equipment they need.
- Coordinate a small team of office/admin volunteers to provide excellent support to the wider hyh team.
- Build and maintain service and supplier contracts and relationships, including our landlord, telephones, broadband, lone working devices, phones, printers and cleaning.
- Be the main contact for our IT managed services provider and act as the internal contact point for any IT queries.
Organisational support
- Support the SLT with our day to day health and safety compliance including administering Health and Safety Committee meetings, carrying out workstation assessments and conducting regular H&S checks and annual PAT testing.
- Support the SLT with our data protection including administering GDPR Committee meetings, managing the relationship with our external Data Protection consultant and acting as the internal point of contact.
- Provide staff induction and on-boarding in relation to the office, IT and equipment.
Skills and experience:
- Significant experience as a senior Executive Assistant at CEO level.
- Significant levels of office management experience.
- Strong administrative background, ideally with experience working in the non-profit sector but not essential
- Experience managing and overseeing contracts, ensuring the service providers are excellent value for money.
- Experience acting as secretariat to boards of trustees or similar governance bodies.
- Experience managing people in paid or voluntary roles.
- Excellent communicator in formal and informal communications, both verbally and in writing, to all stakeholders

Qualifications and knowledge:

Your Role
The Scheme Director is a newly created role that will be pivotal in helping SCEC extend its reach. About the role:
Victim Support have been successful in securing funding for the delivery of Drive. Drive is an innovative national framework that aims to improve the lives and safety of victims and children affected by domestic abuse by holding high-risk perpetrators to account. This involves the identification and targeting of high risk/high harm perpetrators and combines case management with a co-ordinated multi-agency response.
We are looking for a case manager who will work with approximately 31 perpetrators per year. This role is based from our Blackpool Office, delivering a service that covers Blackpool, Wyre, Fylde, Lancaster and surrounding areas therefore you will need to hold a full driving license and have access to a car. You will be eligible to apply for Hybrid working (2 days per week from home) after successful completion of your probation. As a Drive Case Manager, you will be:
- Providing intensive case management on a one to one basis with perpetrators whose victims have been identified as high risk at MARAC to pro-actively secure engagement, influence attitudinal and behavioural change and link to complementary services.
- Working collabertively with existing agencies to design a co-ordinated, strategic individual intervention plan to address identified needs and risks and promote understanding of the impact of abusive behaviours. Throughout the intervention the Case Manager will work closely with the IDVA service to review risk, develop safety plans and improve outcomes for all parties involved.
You will need: -
- An understanding of domestic abuse, risk assessment and risk management including experience of working with victims and/or perpetrators of domestic abuse, those with complex needs and/or challenging behaviour.
- The ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and develop multi-agency responses to support and/or disrupt perpetrators in order to reduce the harm they pose to victims.
- The ability to appropriately challenge service users and other agencies in order to achieve positive outcomes and reduce the risks posed to victims

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising Overview
- Develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for The Cinnamon Trust.
- Maximise the contributions and connections with local business and individuals.
- Coordinate all appeals including The Big Walk across all income and media streams.
- Research and utilise new fundraising streams and opportunities such as Payroll Giving, Legacies (with help from The Legacy Officer), in Memory Giving and Online Giving.
Supporter Engagement and Stewardship

- Act as the ‘first point of call’ for all fundraising volunteers and maintaining excellent communication with supporters throughout these processes, in conjunction with other teams.

Database Management

Internally the job title will be Business Administrator.
This Business Administrator role is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous HR or administration experience to join us and help coordinate administration across our service.

As Business Administrator you will coordinate and complete the administration for all aspects of the employee lifecycle, specifically:
• Attraction & recruitment
• Onboarding
• Staff development
• Retention
• Performance management
• Engagement
• Succession Planning
• Exit
• Ensure accurate record keeping for all HR processes using internal systems, iTrent & Sharepoint.
Furthermore, you will undertake service administration including:
• Ensure completion of business-critical processes, e.g. service returns.
• Manage new customer contracts, assessments and assist the Finance team with invoicing.
• Complete Client Finance and assist with company audits.
• Adhoc administration support for the Management Team, tasks could include: report writing, correspondence, minute taking and high-level administrative support for formal meetings and hearings.
• Adhoc project coordination support for transformation and development projects.
You’ve got the skills and experience:
• 2+ years’ experience in previous HR or administration role.
• Experience of HRIS management software, iTrent or similar.
• Knowledge of employment law, regulatory compliance and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Capable of task prioritisation, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Aptitude for working with systems.
• Comfortable with complexity and ambiguity.
• Excellent customer service skills, ability to work with a range of stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• You are positive and outgoing, a natural “people” person.
