NSPCC are the UK’s leading children’s charity who believe that every childhood is worth fighting for. They have been looking out for children for over 100 years, to protect them and prevent abuse.

The Senior Finance Business Partner will report into the Head of Finance Business Partnering and provide leadership to a small operational team. The role is responsible for the delivery of all aspects of operational financial management within each directorate or department it supports. The role will provide high-quality financial management and advice, together with comprehensive reporting and analysis to inform and aid decision making.

From their campaigns to their services, the NSPCC strive to make a difference in everything they do. They work with schools, provide support and advice for families and deliver therapeutic services. They undertake ground-breaking research, campaign for change, and run two free helplines providing support and advice: Childline (for children and young people) and Helpline (for adults seeking advice). Between 2016 and 2021, they helped make 6.6 million children safer from abuse - but they won’t stop until they stop child abuse and neglect altogether.

The key duties of this Senior Finance Business Partner are as follows:

• Business partner with the Senior Management Team to develop knowledge of their Directorates.
• Take on a value-added role, acting as a trusted advisor and demonstrating the ability to constructively challenge ideas and plans.
• Be involved in business and planning meetings in partnership with senior leaders.
• Be the finance subject matter expert in the Directorates the role supports, proactively thinking about how decisions would affect the wider organisation and the Directorate, making recommendations as appropriate.
• Produce, collate and ensure timely delivery of accurate budget and forecasts for the areas the role supports, with supporting analysis and commentary.
• Provide timely and accurate advice to budget holders to allow effective management of their budgets, highlighting potential opportunities and risks.
• Ensure the delivery of month end processing and variance analysis.
• Prepare and deliver accurate consolidated financial monthly, quarterly and annual operational performance reporting packs.
• Support the ‘Head of’ in the preparation of financial models for the evaluation of proposed business changes, and subsequent implementation.
• Manage, supervise and develop direct reports, being accountable for the work they produce.

The successful candidate will have:

• Achieved their full accountancy qualification.
• Have extensive experience of working within a management accounts or business partnering function, of a complex organisation.
• Substantial experience in the preparation of financial management information, including the production and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, financial models and delivery of associated reporting, analysis and commentary.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse numbers critically, extracting pertinent information for management.
• Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ideally, knowledge of charity accounting (SORP).
• Experience of managing, developing and motivating staff.

In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing our political engagement efforts, building cross-party support and working with political leaders, mayoral teams, and other key stakeholders to promote our initiatives. Main Responsibilities

Reputational and Risk Management 

• Develop and manage the organisation’s risk register, offering strategic oversight and serving as a primary contact for crisis communications. 

• Manage and respond to reactive media inquiries promptly, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s values and objectives. 

• Draft key messages and FAQs for media interviews and public responses, and advise senior leadership on sensitive media or reputational issues.

Content Creation and Dissemination

• Create and refine key messaging for public communications, including FAQs and response guides.

Relationship Management 

• Lead employer case study development, identifying and preparing Living Wage employers to speak to media and champion a real Living Wage. 

• Drive stakeholder engagement efforts, cultivating valuable relationships with Living Wage employers, campaign partners, and media contacts. 

• Build and maintain relationships with journalists across print, digital, and broadcast media to secure quality coverage. 

• Collaborate with the Public Engagement Team to draft emails, speeches, speaker notes, briefings, and press notices for political engagements. 

• Provide line management and development support to the Media Manager and Events Manager. 

Social Media and Website 

• Ensure consistency in messaging and alignment across all media and digital platforms in collaboration with the wider communications team. 

• Work closely with the Senior Digital and Communications Manager to guide and oversee team initiatives. 

Key Skills

Position

Reporting into the Head of Communications, this is a strategic and hands-on management role responsible for driving ShareAction’s media function and acting as a key business partner for colleagues across the organisation. Using your experience of developing media strategies, you will advise teams on how to enhance ShareAction’s position as a thought leader on responsible investment, support organisational goals to influence decision-makers and engage target audiences and help manage ShareAction’s reputation by advising on risk and mitigation. You will line manage a Media Manager and Senior Media Officer in the UK and provide guidance to a Media Advisor in Brussels to design and deliver high-quality media relations activity and ensure the effective operation of ShareAction’s press office and internal processes, including media monitoring and reporting.

You’ll be passionate about using the power of communications to help drive a better future for people and planet.

This role would suit someone who has outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a flair for breaking down complex issues and the ability to use framing and messaging techniques to produce high-quality content that can resonate with target audiences and inspire action. You’ll enjoy working in a fast-paced, changing campaigning environment and have excellent organisational skills to be able to manage multiple projects at once. You might have previous experience developing media activity within a campaigning or advocacy organisation or on social, environmental or financial issues.

Accountabilities

Social Media Management

• Input into a review of SEO London’s social media plan and engagement tactics.

• Oversee the social media request process, liaising with other teams to capture compelling content.
• Execute the social media plan by creating weekly posts, including content writing and visual asset design, and social media ads where relevant.

Awards Management Unit (AMU)

The Pricing Advisor works within IRC’s Long Term Funding Team in the Business Development (BD) team of the Awards Management Unit. The BD Team leads IRC's public business development, working with country programs and technical units globally. The team raises funds to achieve IRC ambitious impact goals. Alongside a wide humanitarian funding portfolio, we prioritize growing ‘Long Term Funding’ through contracts and awards from priority donors, including USAID, FCDO, and other key multilateral and government donors. 

Purpose of the Role

The Pricing Advisor serves as a budgeting expert and will be the pricing lead for many of IRC’s most important and large scale public funding opportunities. 

The role provides essential guidance, technical assistance, quality assurance and hands-on support throughout the business development lifecycle, ensuring a delicate balance between cost recovery, risk mitigation, price competitiveness, and compliance with internal policies and donor regulations.

The Pricing Advisor specializes in working with IRC's ‘Long Term Funding Donors’ including USG, FCDO World Bank, GAVI and AFD. The Pricing Advisor may also be asked to work on opportunities for other donors in IRC’s portfolio, including European Union and other donors when required. 

As a key member of proposal teams, this position collaborates closely with IRC Country Offices, Finance Department, and Technical Units to facilitate the development of cost proposals. 

Responsibilities

Capture & Program Design

• Serve as the ‘Capture Pricing Lead’ to ensure IRC is well prepared to develop an effective budget proposal for important funding opportunities 

• Conduct research and evaluation of cost drivers specific to each country to understand cost proposal development challenges and opportunities to improve pricing strategies within the predefined clients’ needs and regulations.

• Aggregate all available budgetary details at the activity level, encompassing all anticipated interventions and necessary support provisions, into clear rough estimates. 

Pricing Strategy & Budget Development

• Lead Budget Development and/or provide quality assurance or backstopping for budgeting for major proposals.

• Review released solicitations to assess whether cost-related considerations might hinder the development of a competitive, compliant, and viable bid

• Provide pricing expertise to the donor budget proposal process to ensure proposals are of high quality; reflect the needs of the solicitation and include the necessary shared costs.

• Ensure the proposal team understands the financial requirements and donor regulations of the bid, by clearly communicating what is required and providing guidance and support as needed. Identify all key financial and commercial risks and proactively propose a tailored mitigation plan and adjustments as necessary.

• Drive and/or ensure that pricing inputs from IRC Country Offices, technical or other contributors are integrated effectively. Lead all aspects of detailed cost, and technical queries in anticipation of submission timelines.

• Maintain, expand and apply technical knowledge in USG, FCDO, World Bank and European Union by attending educational workshops and trainings, reviewing the latest donors’ regulations and policies and market trends

• Offer guidance and strategies for creating intricate budgets, presenting cost-related aspects efficiently and effectively, developing payment by results structures and fee payment schedules

• Develop comprehensive donor budgets in line with internal and external requirements, ensuring that all cost drivers are adequately considered, drawing input from different collaborators.

• Engage with and provide technical guidance to partners, and integrate all partner pricing inputs into the consolidated budget, budget narrative, and overall cost application

• When required, develop or adapt budget development tools, guidance and materials for existing and new donors and contractual mechanisms

• When required, conduct cost reviews of selected proposals

• Ensure adherence to IRC's standard processes and policies, as well as compliance with solicitation requirements and client policies across a variety of opportunities and donors. 

Strategic Pricing and Capacity Building

• As a donor budgeting expert, the Pricing Advisor will be invited to contribute to wider organizational initiatives to improve pricing approaches and capacity in the organIzation. This may include, the development or review of pricing tools, templates or strategies.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Demonstrable experience developing cost proposals. Demonstrable experience developing cost proposals for grant and contract types including Payment by Results approaches and fee rate structures.

• Demonstrates in depth understanding of USG, FCDO or EU financial rules and regulations; is able to identify donor-specific risks and design cost proposals in a way that mitigates those risks.

Compensation:

Posted pay ranges apply to US and UK-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

About this role

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will ensure that communications and marketing priorities are implemented across the organisation to build brand awareness and reputation, increase reach and engagement across key stakeholder groups (funders, learners, coordination bodies, strategic partners), support fundraising activities, as well as contribute to RedR’s positioning within relevant sectors.The post holder will have exceptional communication and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and an interest in learning and development within RedR’s thematic areas.

As the Senior MEL Officer in the MEL team, you will support the Head of Impact & Learning and the MEL Manager, as well as the Programmes & Impact department and wider team, to measure and analyse the quality and impact of our programming. You’ll use your strong organisation skills, experience in data collection and analysis, and ability to identify key trends and impact in our work. You will also work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that our impact and expertise in working with women entrepreneurs is measured and communicated accurately and effectively to our Board of Trustees and external stakeholders.

Department purpose

This role sits within the Programmes & Impact department, which is responsible for the development and delivery of our programmes and services, ensuring they are delivered to a high quality, remain responsive to women entrepreneurs’ needs and have demonstrable impact. The department is divided into three teams: Entrepreneurship, which is responsible for delivery of services such as HerVenture and the four ‘Road to’ programmes, Mentoring, which is responsible for development and delivery of the Mentoring Women in Business programme, and MEL, which is responsible for quality impact measurement, analysis and research.

Main obligations

• Support the development and implementation of MEL systems and tools across Mentoring and Entrepreneurship projects, providing the Foundation with the necessary information to understand our impact and inform programme improvements.

This is an excitign opportunity to lead our Youth Work programme and Day Centre provision at NHYC. This position is a six-month fixed-term contract to cover a staff member going on sabbatical. The contract is planned to run from February-August 2025. We are looking for someone who is able to maintain stable and consistent leadership for the team throughout that period, is a quick learner, and confident overseeing multiple programmes and activities.
