Do you want to work as part of a dynamic and engaging team supporting Young People in Northampton? Due to project expansion, Aquarius Young People’s Substance Misuse team are recruiting for several Young People’s Practitioners across the county.

Aquarius has been providing structured and targeted interventions to young people engaging in, at risk of substance misuse or affected by parental substance misuse for many years.

You will work on an outreach basis, including visiting schools, colleges & universities, places of worship, youth service provisions and local community venues. You will help to raise the profile of substance misuse services available to young people and also provide young people with that first point of contact providing advice and further direction into accessing the right support, particularly targeting outreach to engage 'difficult -to-reach' young people.

Holding relevant experience with skills or qualifications in either substance misuse/youth work/psychology/counselling/mental health/social care you will also:

• Have experience of working with at risk/vulnerable people in a community setting
• Be able to deliver group work
• Be knowledgeable about: safeguarding children, confidentiality, consent and mental capacity and Hidden Harm
• Adopt a flexible approach to work - hours and locations

Aquarius Action Projects, is looking for a Floating Housing Support Practitioner to join their team. Solihull Integrated Addiction Service (SIAS) is a partnership between four organisations jointly responsible for the delivery of the drug, alcohol, homelessness and gambling services, in the Borough of Solihull. We offer services for adults who use or are affected by substance use, homelessness and gambling.

Your challenge? As a Floating Housing Support Worker, you will be working with clients who are vulnerably housed or homeless, working in clients’ homes and various locations to support clients in addressing their substance needs, finding accommodation and being able to live independently.The service covers support for clients who are homeless and at risk of becoming homeless, as well as a more structured longer-term floating support service to enable clients to maintain their tenancies. You will understand the barriers clients face to accessing services, and the impact substance use has on sustaining accommodation.

To succeed, you’ll:

• Have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.
• Be an energetic and confident self-starter.
• Have experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings.
• Have a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills and a willingness to work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.

Aquarius helps young people aged 5-18 overcome the harm caused by drugs and alcohol by working closely with the individual, family members and other professionals . But it’s only possible with the help of people like you.

Your challenge? – To provide information and advice, brief interventions and long term structured interventions to support young people who are using drugs and alcohol or being impacted by someone else’s use.  You will be conducting assessments, risk assessments, care-planning and working directly with other services such as schools, social care, mental health services and youth offending.The successful candidate must have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work with other agencies both face to face, email and via telephone.

The Engagement and Activity Practitioner (EAP) will work closely with the children and young people in the care of TACT foster carers across the North West. The Engagement and Activity Practitioner will facilitate opportunities for participation by organising, and, attending, events and trips that are in line with the children’s interests, developmental stages, and abilities, inclusive of children with additional needs. The Engagement and Activity Practitioner will continue the development of the children’s buddying club, for children to meet on a regular basis and share their views, ideas, and interests for TACT as an organisation to meet their needs.

Overall Duties of the Engagement Activity Practitioner will include:

• Being an accessible point of contact for the children living with our carers and to our young people, keeping them up to date with the facilities and opportunities available with TACT
• Supporting interventions and activities to ensure stable placement arrangements
• Being able to transport children and young people to events, appointments and meetings (mileage reimbursed)
• Organising and participating in virtual and face-to-face events and occasional residential meet-ups
• Managing all paperwork associated with events and activities
• Willingness to work flexibly, according to deadlines and needs of our families
• Undertaking trauma-informed direct work with children and young people 

The main role requirements for this role include:

• A formal qualification in working with children and young people
• Experience in a paid or voluntary capacity of participation, advocacy or direct work with young people

- Manage the start and end of the stewardship journey for all donors and fundraisers by dealing with all enquiries through email, post or phone or face to face at the office ensuring that we meet the best standards of donor care 

 - Manage post and charity office filing system and the banking and thanking process 

- Maintain relationships through regular contact with donors throughout their fundraising journey offering any support or guidance needed to maximise their giving

- Act as a dynamic presence, leading and recruiting volunteers, community groups and small companies to organise fundraisers for our charity

- Build fantastic connections with patients, NHS staff, volunteers and our wider community to recruit new donors, fundraisers, volunteers and charity champions

- Support in growing the number of supporters playing the hospital lottery and those giving through our hospital ‘giving plaques

- Support all fundraising activity and represent the charity at events

- Manage and maintain the CRM system (donorfy) which includes entering all donor data including financial transactions and communications 

- Send updates to supporters to retain and increase life-time value and reactivate lapsed donors

- Send donation reports to the charity team

- Make suggestions on how to improve supporter care and implement these ideas

- To recruit and manage office based volunteers

We currently raise between £1-2m a year for East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust which has four sites local to Hertfordshire, including the Lister Hospital (Stevenage) and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (North London). The University of Essex is excited to have formed a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the Minstead Trust. The Minstead Trust is a charity based in Hampshire, which works in collaboration with people with learning disabilities and their family carers, to enable them to achieve greater independence and live happier and healthier lives. One of their main areas of work is accommodation support. As they transition into adult accommodation support services, adults with a learning disability, their family carers, and Minstead Trust accommodation support staff form a tripartite relationship through which support is planned and delivered within the Minstead Trust. However, to date practices in support provision have differed, leading to miscommunications, relationship difficulties, and some areas of inconsistency and discontinuity in provided support and living circumstances. There are also often difficulties experienced during the transition from child to adult learning disability services. These are sector wide issues, which ultimately impact service users’ participation in the various activities and occupations that provide meaning, purpose, and routine within their everyday lives.

The KTP will last for 24 months and utilise a participatory action research (PAR) approach to engage relevant stakeholders who comprise and surround the tripartite relationship described above. Together they will co-produce, implement, and evaluate distinct new ways of working. These new ways of working will revolutionise engagement between adults with learning disabilities, their family carers, and Minstead Trust staff, and lead to improved experiences for all stakeholders.

As a KTP, the KTP Associate role constitutes more than just the completion of a research project, as the focus of the role is to facilitate knowledge transfer between the University and the Minstead Trust. A key objective is that the KTP also embeds the capability of co-production within the Minstead Trust through staff engagement and support. Co-production involves partnership working towards a mutually defined aim, where everyone connected with an issue plays an active part, and existing skills, experience and knowledge are valued and utilised (Pettican et al, 2022).

The Chief Executive Officer will: - Provide a strong and inspirational leadership to implement the strategic plan. - Lead on the on-going sustainability and growth of services with the Board of Trustees - Work closely with our Young Advisors to ensure youth voice throughout the Charity. - Champion a clearly articulated strategy to acquire new business and generate sustainable income. - Represent Sheffield Futures and its work effectively and imaginatively to external audiences and promote a strong and attractive brand. - Work effectively alongside the Board of Trustees to ensure that Sheffield Futures meets its governance and legal responsibilities.

This is an excitign opportunity to lead our Youth Work programme and Day Centre provision at NHYC. This position is a six-month fixed-term contract to cover a staff member going on sabbatical. The contract is planned to run from February-August 2025. We are looking for someone who is able to maintain stable and consistent leadership for the team throughout that period, is a quick learner, and confident overseeing multiple programmes and activities. Given the short length of the contract, we encourage applications from those who may not have been in a more senior leadership position before and would like the opportunity to gain experience.  It would also suit anyone with prior experience who is keen to work in a dynamic environment and is passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of young people facing homelessness.
