Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Hate Crime Reporting Coordinator. As Hate Crimes are still under reported, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in increasing awareness of Hate Crime in Barnet and working on a multi-agency basis to coordinate community awareness raising events, ensuring residents, statutory and voluntary organisations, and others are informed about Hate Crime and know how to report it.

This role requires community engagement, delivering staff training workshops, monitoring and reporting hate crime data, and a commitment to a victim-centred approach.

The post is funded by MOPAC

Key Responsibilities:

· Engage with residents and diverse communities, including disabled people, LGBTQ+ groups, and Gypsy Roma Traveller groups to raise awareness about reporting hate crime.

· Coordinate communications and community events to raise awareness of Hate Crime and encourage reporting.

· Organise and conduct workshops and forums for diverse community groups.

· Train staff and volunteers to identify hate crime and support clients to report incidents to the Police.

· Monitor national and local hate crime data, including incidents recorded by Barnet Hate Crime Reporting Centres and produce quarterly reports of the work to tackle Hate crime in Barnet

· Support victims to report hate crimes and incidents to the Police and signpost to relevant support organisations.

· Support Barnet’s network of Hate Crime Reporting Centres including co-ordinated communications and staff training.

· Develop Barnet’s Safe Places Scheme for people with learning disabilities, autistic adults and adults-at-risk.

Your work for the MNVP team is in partnership with the NHS, Public Health and other parts of the system to help them hear the diverse voices of service users. You will facilitate projects and workstreams to understand the needs of all communities including African, Caribbean, Asian and other minoritised communities in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Citizens Advice Milton Keynes is a local charity that helps people to resolve their legal, money and personal problems. We have been providing free, confidential, and impartial advice since 1972 and helped over 8000 local people last year.

We’ve been working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Care for over 15 years, supporting people with cancer and their families. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and confident person to join our Casework Team to help people to cope with the ‘cost of cancer’.

Each year our Macmillan Caseworkers provide advice on practical and financial matters like benefits, debt and employment you can find out more about the service by watching a short video on our vacancy page via the apply button.

The ideal candidate will provide advice and support in person, via telephone, email and video call to patients undergoing treatment for cancer at Milton Keynes and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals. Macmillan Project Caseworkers will assist clients with complex welfare, debt and housing enquiries. This requires a good foundation knowledge of each advice area, so competence in these subjects is desirable, but full and ongoing training will be provided to support successful candidates in their professional development.

This is a challenging role, managing a demanding caseload and working with people at every stage of their cancer journey. All our advice work is carried out to the strictest quality standards, and we are committed to ensuring that all our advice work complements the wider services provided by both Citizens Advice and Macmillan Cancer Care.

Applicants need to be –

• Computer-literate, although training on our case recording systems will be given.
• Confident in working to performance targets.
• Able to show good communications skills, both written and verbal. These are essential in the role, as are excellent customer service skills with a non-judgemental approach.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Casework Administrator to join the Scottish Regional Office team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

You will be responsible for providing specialist administrative support and undertaking virtual telephone casework across the whole of Scotland, working remotely with SSAFA branch volunteers and Regional Office colleagues to ensure a consistent, timely, quality service is provided to SSAFA beneficiaries.

About the team

In this role you will be working closely with volunteers from seventeen SSAFA branches across Scotland, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. Our successful candidate will monitor and manage the receipt of referrals from Probation through the Customer Approved System (CAS) ensuring they are successfully assigned to Personal Wellbeing Coaches using the appropriate guidance and process, ensure all inputting is accurate and within agreed timescales, plus provide regular activity reports to the Personal Wellbeing Manager.  You will be the primary point of contact for all enquiries, external and internal to ensure communication channels are clear and effective, while also liaising with external stakeholders (e.g. Prisons), delivery partners, spot purchase providers and other agencies to arrange appointments, referrals, and generally ensure information exchanged is done in a clear, timely and effective manner.

Developing and maintaining an Estates log and diary to ensure the team always have an approved site to meet service users in mandated locations when needed and providing administration for meetings, including bookings, invitations and minute-taking, are also vital duties.

What we are looking for

• Experience of managing Customer Relationship Management systems, including inputting data and creating reports
• An understanding of the barriers faced by people with complex and multiple needs
• Knowledge of Trauma Informed practice and how to apply it in supporting service users
• Ability to develop and maintain means by which compliance with policy and procedure can be effectively monitored and reported on, including financial expenditure
• Impressive prioritisation relationship-building and interpersonal abilities
• First-class communication skills, both verbal and written
• A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work

Please note this role requires that successful candidates must undergo an Enhanced DBS check, on the basis that the post involves contact with vulnerable participants and colleagues, In addition to this, they must also undergo HMPPS vetting.
