Key Details

What we're looking for
- Experience working with relational datasets, Google Analytics 4 (or Adobe), spreadsheets and a data visualisation tool.
- Proficient using tools to clean, manipulate, and analyse data effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Ability to create clear and informative data visualisations (e.g., graphs, charts, dashboards) that tell compelling stories.
- Project management skills to plan and prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure the successful execution of data analysis projects.

Background The Ubele Initiative was established in 2014 as an African Diaspora led intergenerational social enterprise. Our mission is helping to build more sustainable black and racially minoritized communities across the UK. Ubele is unique in that it was built from bottom-up and is intentionally an intergenerational organisation. Over the past few years, we have designed and delivered a wide range of local, regional, national, and international initiatives which seek to create and build community wealth. About The Role As the Time to Shine (T2S) leader you will make a direct contribution to two key areas of work: our intergenerational leadership programmes and our approaches to capturing and recording our social impact measurements. In order to meet the criteria for the T2S programme we are seeking candidates who are unemployed or underemployed. This role is designed to be an entry level role and therefore we recognise that candidates may have limited work experience but can have a wealth of experience from other activities and we would love to hear about how those skills can transfer to this role. The T2S leader will be introduced to and have the opportunity to practice using innovative approaches to leadership development, processes and models which support Black women’s and young women’s growth and confidence building as community leaders. You will add much needed organisational capacity to both areas of work enabling us to further build our emerging body of intergenerational work for which we aim to create a model. You will also help us to bring our data to life and for our social impact outcomes to reach a much wider audience than in the past three years through, for example, being supported to develop skills in storytelling, case studies, videography, vlogs and via our social media platforms.
Main duties and responsibilities
Leadership Development
• Programme co-design and supporting implementation: Develop and implement leadership development programmes tailored to the needs of Black women. This involves co-creating curricula that address both personal and professional growth, ensuring they are inclusive, empowering, and effective.
• Mentorship Strategies: Contribute to the design and implementation of mentorship initiatives that foster intergenerational connections. These strategies should help promote the transfer of knowledge, skills, and experience between seasoned and emerging leaders, supporting holistic leadership development.
• Support the design and co-ordination of a national Women of Colour Leadership Summit – April 2025 • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify leadership development needs and opportunities. Social Impact Measurement
• Data Collection and Analysis: Contribute to refining and enhancing our data collection methodologies to ensure accurate measurement of programme effectiveness. Supporting the development of robust systems for capturing relevant data and analysing results.
• Learning and then implementing creative data collection methods and processes to enhance reach and engagement
• Impact Reporting: Contribute to creating and maintaining impact reports that communicate the outcomes and value of our programmes. Reports should be clear, compelling, and supported by data, highlighting the achievements and areas for improvement.
• Programme Evaluation: contribute to using data insights to inform programmatic adjustments and strategic decisions. Regularly evaluate programme performance and suggest improvements based on findings to enhance overall effectiveness and efficiency. General

The Role
What will I be doing?
- Provide key support to the Governance, Audit & Risk Manager on the IOP’s governance programme, including the organisation of Council Meetings and Core Governance Committee meetings, and the distribution of agendas and papers on the IOP’s Board Portal
- Be a key point of contact for the IOP’s Trustees and Committee Members, providing support and maintaining trustee information
- Support with the IOP’s annual Council Elections and AGM
- Support with the smooth running of the Group Internal Audit Programme
- Support the Compliance & Data Protection Manager with managing compliance with key policies and procedures.
Projects you work on may include:
- Quarterly Council and Committee Meetings, including one Council meeting held elsewhere in the UK
- Preparation or the IOP’s Annual Council Elections Process, whereby new trustees are elected by the IOP membership each year
- Helping with the IOP’s Annual General Meeting, including the preparation of the member notice and voting materials and ensuring the event runs smoothly on the day
- Five Internal Audits per year, determined by the Group Audit & Risk Committee

You should have experience of working within an advice setting and advice supervision framework such as the AQS framework. About the Investment Team
The Investment Team is responsible for selecting charity partners, managing our charity investments and supporting our charity partners to improve and scale their impact.

- Leading in-depth due diligence process to assess and build partnership foundations with potential partners – covering leadership and governance, and their impact, scale, and partnership potential.

Managing partnerships with portfolio partners
- Managing relationships with partner Chairs and CEOs
- Agreeing Service Funding Agreements, including appropriate annual investment milestones to allow for a clear assessment of re-investment potential at end of phase
- Regularly monitoring and assessing partner progress / risks against milestones and making recommendations for progression or exit
- Escalating key risks on performance, leadership and safeguarding
- Conducting annual partnership review with Sector Leads and partner CEOs
- Working with Impetus Finance colleagues to ensure timely distribution of grant payments, in line with Service Funding Agreements.
Supporting portfolio partners
- Providing direct support to CEOs and senior colleagues on key strategic topics, using a mix of at least monthly one-to-one meetings and group facilitation to:
- clarify theory of change
- define long term ambition
- develop growth strategy
- achieve a step change in the delivery and performance management of outcomes
- strengthen leadership (individual and collective) and governance capabilities

- Scoping and project managing pro bono capacity-building projects (in addition to providing direct management support). Ensure projects are delivered to a high standard and contribute to charity progression

- Developing expertise about “what works” in the sector through cultivation and use of expert input and engagement as well as investigation into key research and evaluative literature

- Leading on and contributing to internal topics, such as team strategy development, digital transformation, or equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Contribute towards Impetus’ public affairs and philanthropy objectives through input into case studies, research and policy campaigns, donor reports and fundraising events

- Understanding of or experience with commissioning impact evaluations.
