Job description

At Help for Heroes, we believe those who serve our country deserve support when they are wounded. Every day, men and women have to leave their career in the Armed Forces as a result of physical or psychological wounds; their lives changed forever. We help them, and those still serving, to recover and get on with their lives.

And who are we you’re wondering? We are experts and beginners. Generalists and specialists. Ordinary people with an extraordinary passion towards making a positive change to the lives of our veterans (and having fun while doing it).

As One Team we share a philosophy – I.C.A.R.E. It’s the way we walk and talk, the way we interact with others and how we approach everything we do. We are:

Innovative – Collaborative – Authentic – Resourceful – Energetic.

We have an incredible opportunity for a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Hidden wounds team

If you are interested in working with Veterans and the armed forces community and are an established senior PWP or an experienced PWP looking to progress, then we would love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a senior PWP you will be responsible for supervising an established and high-quality team of PWP’s and the development of the service as we look to extend our reach to help as many veterans and their families as we can. You will be required to represent the service at times through presentation about our work to other organizations and will be required to contribute to the governance of the service.

About the Team

Hidden wounds are a developing, multi-disciplinary, evidenced based psychological therapy service working with veterans, their families and loved ones. We are accredited by the Royal college of psychiatrists QNVMHS. As a clinician at hidden wounds you will be working in a multidisciplinary team consisting of HI CBT therapists, counsellors and PWP’s, our clinicians receive all necessary supervision and support to maintain their respective accreditations and much more.

The well-being of our staff is incredibly important to us as a charity and that is why in addition to minimum requirements for accreditation our clinicians receive regular reflective practice groups, high quality CPD and regular staff huddles. You will work a 35 hour week to promote wellbeing and the role comes with a good level of variety with the ability to support charity wide events and co – produce and deliver with help for heroes recovery college.
