Salary is £95,000 per year, depending on experience.

The Supporter-led Fundraising (SLF) Department at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for mass fundraising through enabling individuals, communities and companies to support ARUK through their own talents and passions. As well as driving registrations and income through third party, virtual and mass participation events and managing these relationships to maximise income.
We are looking to for an Online Fundraising Executive to support the team. In this role you will be the face of our friendly and passionate Online Fundraising Team; building relationships with supporters who use online channels to fundraise such as Facebook challenges, streaming and crypto donors.
You will also be at the forefront of the fundraising sector as it develops; keen to understand new areas of growth, you will help spot potential and trends in new areas of online fundraising and be willing to adapt to this quickly changing area.
You will provide crucial administrative support to ensure the smooth integration of our online fundraising systems across ARUK. Support may include adding accurate details to our database, tracking and monitoring income, responsibility for online donation platforms and virtual fundraising as well as general administrative duties in the office.

Online Administrative Support
· Steward online fundraising supporters, with a particular focus on Facebook challenge moderation and messaging
· Lead on specific fundraising processes e.g. merchandise for Facebook challenges

With strong understanding of KPI’s associated with marketing performance and content management systems. Key elements of the role:
- Provide a central point of contact for events and excellent customer service, dealing with incoming calls, email enquiries and requests for information or queries from colleagues and members.
- Collate, update and maintain accurate delegate and wider member data in the Federations CRM system.
- Coordinate logistical event support across all events, printing and distributing event collateral, packing and couriering equipment and managing delivery services.

Sitting within the Supporter Led Fundraising (SLF) department, the Sporting Events Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing over £3.5m income from individuals and groups fundraising through mass participation events including The London Marathon, International Marathons, The Great North Run, Threshold Events and more!
As one of two Sporting Event Managers, you will join a busy and successful team of 10 responsible for the delivery and optimisation of our events portfolio. We are looking for an exceptional individual, who will lead on the planning, project management and delivery of ARUK’s flagship third-party events, including London Landmarks, Own Place in Event Fundraising and challenge events.
This is a line management role, currently responsible for 4 direct reports and the strategic oversight of the events they manage. You will work closely with the other Sporting Event Manager to ensure consistency with supporter stewardship, manage budgets and support in financial planning, review team capacity and identify and manage priorities throughout the event calendar year, ensuring efficiency and a first-class supporter experience, with an overall goal of maximising income for dementia research.
You will be an integral part of the SLF Managers Team, helping drive our ambitious organisation growth and ultimately helping us find a cure. The role is managed by the Head of Sporting Events & Volunteering (HoSV).
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Line Management
· Line management of the high performing 2x Sporting Events Officers and 2x Sporting Events Executives; inspiring and driving their success to ensure they remain highly motivated in their roles, achieve their targets and play a key part in the performance of the wider Sporting Events Team, and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
· Monitor, review, and empower direct reports to ensure effective communication across the wider team and with key stakeholders e.g. volunteering, RFO’s and wider SLF.
· Support your direct line reports in their development, helping them to spot opportunities for growth.
Monitoring and Reporting
· Manage the Sporting team’s income and expenditure budget, including monthly reporting, and supporting HoSV with monthly reforecasts, and annual budget and operational plan setting.
· Review participation and income against event targets to track impact, ROI and cost income ratio and report back to HoSV regularly.
· Ensure the fundraising CRM (salesforce) is being used effectively to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and financial reporting.
· Use data insights and trends to support the HoSV in budgeting, forecasting and event portfolio reviews.
· Continue to review and be willing to change Sporting Event Team processes and contribute to wider organisational process changes where necessary.
· Support the embedding of our CRM system: Salesforce, including writing processes and ensuring CRM best practice across the team.
Relationship Management
· Build and maintain excellent working relationships with our third-party event providers and identify new opportunities and ensure all avenues are being optimised for ARUK.
· Identify and steward alongside the Regional Fundraising Officers’ high-value supporters to ensure we are spotting opportunities beyond their current event.
· Work collaboratively within SLF, to ensure all fundraising opportunities are shared and communicated and resources are available.
· Work closely with the Marketing & Engagement Team to brief in marketing requirements, share trends, learnings, and results to optimise future activities.
· Work closely with managers from SLF Departments and work together as a management team to support on the strategic direction of ARUK, as well as deliver any tactical projects.
· Support and consult with any cross functional teams to deliver our third-party events portfolio.
Strategy & Operational Planning
· Work in consultation with the HoSV to develop the sporting events strategy and annual tactical plan for ARUK to continue to build income in this area.
· Work with HoSV to further develop our events strategy for 2026 onwards.
· Stay abreast of sector sporting events activity to ensure effective positioning and marketing of events.
Stewardship and Supporter experience:
· Plan and deliver an excellent communications journey for sporting event participants including exploring new technologies and how we can talk to our supporters in the way most effective and relevant to them- whether that be email, phone, face to face or SMS. Whilst also ensuring it aligns with wider stewardship goals with the charity and future cross-sell asks.
· Attend third-party events and oversee appropriate staff and volunteer representation to give the maximum brand presence and give the supporters the best possible event day experience e.g. Cambridge Half, London Marathon, London Landmarks, Great North Run and any other events where we need staff.
· Work with the wider SLF team to share best practise, ‘surprise and delight’ success and re-engagement activity to help drive long-term loyalty.
· Work with Regional Fundraising Officers, Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships teams to pass over warm and relevant supporters at the best points in their individual stewardship journeys.
· Work alongside Data and Insights Teams to understand the potential lifetime value of our sporting events participants and ensure opportunities are developed for supporters to hold a long-term fundraising relationship with ARUK.
What we are looking for:
· Experience of delivering mass participation fundraising, in particular managing high-profile/ large third-party event partnerships
· Great knowledge and passion for building excellent supporter relationships and ensuring supporters feel valued and thanked appropriately.
· Good practice and understanding of GDPR and compliance.
· Supporter/stakeholder management experience.
· Project management experience.
· Proven track record of meeting or exceeding financial and non-financial targets.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.
Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals. This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

The Events & Community Manager role is a new position, created to give the attention and expertise needed to our large and profitable portfolio of virtual challenge events, which have collectively raised over £1m gross income per year for two years. It is a crucial role within the team, overseeing the innovation, planning and delivery of all virtual challenges. You will work with colleagues accross the organisation to seize opportunities, whilst ensuring best practice in our fundraising activity and infastructure, delivering brilliant stewardship during supporters participation in the virtual events and beyond.
The position reports to the Head of Events & Community, and will line manage one Events & Community Executive. Collaboration will be important, especially with the senior Events team managers who lead the innovation, planning and delivery of third party and PCR owned bespoke events.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy, Project Management and Income Growth
- Lead the strategy to maximise the value of PCR's virtual challenge events portfolio, working with the Head of E&C and others to take a long-term view, building on existing foundations to grow and maintain a sustainable income stream
- Oversee the project management of PCR's Facebook Challenges in the UK, leading end-to-end planning and delivery with the support of the E&C executives to hit ambition fundraising targets
- Design and deliver ambitious fundraising budgets for your projects which contribute net income towards PCR's lifesaving mission
- Create and maintain good relationships with suppliers, venues, agencies and consultants to ensure great value
- Oversee the stewardship of fundraisers taking part in virtual challenge events, gaining a solid understanding of the audience, ensuring supporter journeys are relevent and engaging and using feedback to continually develop positive experiences for supporters
- Work with other events team managers to contibute to the planning and delivery of other activity areas, including third-party challenges
Product Development and Innovation
- Continue to grow and improve PCR's Facebook Challenge portfolio, staying up to date with sector trends and opportunities for new journeys, suppliers, propositions and tools, taking a test and learn approach and always ensuring that learnings are captured. For this, there will be realistic budgets and an understanding of the investment needed for new ideas
- Develop approaches to engage supporters beyone their initial participations, working with Public Fundrasing colleagues and others to test cross-selling journeys and maximise the lifetime value of virtual event fundraisers
- Work with other team members to improve other areas of social and virtual fundraising (e.g. non-challenge fundraising on Meta), ensuring all supporters are stewarded and income generaltion opportunities are seized upon
- Maintain a strong level of understanding of PCR's existing (and target) supporters in order to create and implement products & stewardship that motivate and inspire.
- Alongside the Head of E&C and other Events team managers, embed a culture of innovation and supporter insight
- Proactively collaborate internally, working with other teams to identify opportunities which meet PCR's objectives
- Be proactive in your personal development & look for opportunities to learn - with support from your manager
Team leadership
- Line manage one Events & Community Executive, overseeing their work, guiding them to improve & innovate in their role, and supporting their professional development
- Work with the other Events team managers to support (and where appropriate take a lead on) the development of processes and infrastructure in order to improve efficiency, compliance and best practice across the team
- Work closely with the Head of E&C and the other Events team managers on team strategy and capacity planning
- Work with the team to embed our agile ways of working, modelling the principle that we all take collective responsibility for the team's shared goals
- Attend and contribute to meetings, sharing new ideas and learnings that might be useful for the wider team
- Work with the Head of E&C and other Events team managers to embed and model PCR's organisational values: innovation, collaboration, accountability and championing the patient voice
As with everyone in the the Public Fundraising department, you may also get involved with other projects and tasks as appropriate to support all our activities.
Attendance may be required at some weekend and evening events, for which TOIL will be given.
Skills and Competencies
Some of the key attributes of the Events & Community Manager will be:
- A willingness to get stuck in, proactive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Confident event and project management skills, including end-to-end planning, budgeting & results tracking
- An understanding and (ideally) experience of large-scale virtual challenge events or similar peer-to-peer fundraising activity
- The ability to see opportunities and drive progress in existing events - and finding our next successful ones!
- An understanding of good line management practice and the ability to take a leadership role within the team
- A strong sense of personal accountability.
- Excellent organisational skills and an ability to juggle multiple competing priorities/ projects, identifying the most valuable use of your time

HOMES FOR WELLS is looking for a dynamic new Chief Executive to lead our organisation into the next phase. As a small local Housing Association in the beautiful town of Wells-next-the-Sea we house local key workers in affordable rented accommodation.
We are a Charitable Community Benefit Society, a RSL and a CLT. We have a board of volunteers and two part time staff – a Chief Executive and an Administrator.
We are seeking a new Chief Executive to be responsible for the day to day running of the organisation which currently manages around 30 properties.
The successful applicant will have housing and management experience, good IT skills and a positive outlook.
This is a 3 day a week position, but we can be flexible, and we expect you to be too. Some evenings will be required.

About You

The Role
