Role purpose

You will act as an influential member of the organisation’s Leadership Team to set, establish and deliver the Programmes and Projects Strategy aimed at supporting growth, reach, and impact of Leadership Skills Foundation programmes among underserved and/or under-represented communities and individuals.

Main duties and responsibilities

1.Responsible for leading and managing agreed and supported programmes, creating and supporting effective implementation and delivery systems.

2. Empower and equip programme team members, allocating resource to effectively deliver agreed and supported projects and their goals/KPIs.

3. Work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to successfully influence and deliver agreed programme objectives and key results.

4. Manage agreed programme budgets and forecasting liaising with Leadership Skills Foundation colleagues and funders as appropriate.

5. Responsibility for implementing internal performance metrics to demonstrate effectiveness, influencing programme management, monitoring and evaluation.

6. Ensure all project milestones, contractual and reporting requirements are met to the agreed standard.

7. Develop and present clear insight and analysis to drive the improvement of strategic, business and operational planning and delivery.

8. Develop management practices that support consistent programme delivery and high-quality outcomes.

9. Ensure risk management and mitigation processes are in place across all programmes and communicated effectively.

10. Maintain a working knowledge and up to date awareness of the landscape and audiences the Leadership Skills Foundation works with and aspires to work with.

Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives.  Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall.  Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!

The Role

Overview:

Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
• Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.
• Community Engagement: Conduct outreach to map existing support services and facilitate the integration of these services with the peer support groups. Host local engagement events to boost volunteer recruitment.
• Data and Case Management: Use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to support high-quality volunteer and case management, ensuring accurate data collection to support service outcomes.
• Training and Development: Develop and deliver tailored training programmes for volunteers based on the specific needs of Group Leaders and Organisers. Set up regional forums for sharing best practices and peer networking. Encourage use of Members Portal to share good practice.
• Documentation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Best Practice Guidance document. Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies to maintain safe governance of peer support groups.

Lepra is dedicated to addressing leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF) and their consequences through direct support, advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive communities. We work in Bangladesh and in India, through our sister organisation, LEPRA Society. Job Purpose

Strategic Leadership

About The Role

The Social Mobility and Widening Participation Senior Officer is a vital member of the department. The post-holder will lead on the development, delivery and evaluation of sustained outreach initiatives. They will also be involved in a range of other challenging projects run across the Social Mobility and Widening Participation Department.

This role will co-lead on the delivery of K+, supporting participants on our arts, humanities and social science pathways. K+ is King’s flagship widening participation programme for sixth form and college students. The post-holder will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive range of events for Year 12 participants as part of non-residential Spring and Summer Schools. This will involve working collaboratively with schools and teachers within Greater London and King’s target regions, King’s faculties and with corporate and charity partners.

We are hiring a Grassroots Development Officer at BVSC on a 2 year contract. Responsible to the Funding and Development Manager, the role of Grassroots Development Officer will be to support the growth and sustainability of small voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Bexley. This role is funded by the VCSE Capacity Building & Infrastructure Fund 2024/2025 through the South East London Integrated Care System (SEL ICS) and aims to enhance the effectiveness of smaller, often informal groups delivering services that are both ‘by and for’ their service users that are crucial in addressing local health and wellbeing needs for the ‘under-served’ but face significant challenges in visibility and support.

The Grassroots Development Officer will be responsible for providing a wide range of organisational development support services and activities to assist grassroots VCSE organisations to develop, thrive and remain sustainable. This role is particularly interested in working with groups who deliver services to young people, the elderly, minority ethnic (global majority) and migrant groups, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and residents in the north of the borough (areas with high deprivation and a higher proportion of small groups). 
You will be led by the VCSE sector within Bexley to ensure services are accessible, connected, consistent and to a high standard. Development work strives to build the capacity and capabilities of local groups, provide partnership/networking opportunities that enable them to carry out their own objectives effectively and offer high quality services. You will work flexibly and nimbly to provide consistent and seamless support to organisations. You will support across the whole spectrum of charity development, but focus on EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion), governance, funding, safeguarding and developing a holistic training package in a variety of formats suitable for grassroots VCS organisations.
