We are excited to be recruiting for a new Communications Coordinator at Volunteer Centre Hackney who will play a key role in helping increase volunteering and grow strong thriving communities across Hackney. Using wide-ranging communications, you will be vital to reaching diverse people across the borough and building key partnerships to help people enjoy the benefits of our services - all of which hugely improve people's lives and bring people and communities together.
The Communications Co-ordinator will play a key role in helping to build, promote and retain VCH’s public profile with a diverse range of audiences, helping us to drive volunteer sign-ups in Hackney, and promote our services to a wide range of stakeholders.
We have recently launched a whole new website and branding, so this is an exciting time to join our team. We have started to work together with residents to make films and are making plans to increase both our reach into specific communities, as well as promote our impact to new funders and partners.
You will plan, write and distribute a range of content across the marketing mix including our website, blog, newsletters, social media and in print. This includes writing copy and sourcing imagery for VCH events and activities, creating regular e-bulletins, updating social media channels, creating content to share the impact of our work, as well as helping to promote outreach and other events and activities to various diverse communities. This will be done together with VCH staff and volunteers, who you will support to co-produce interesting content.
You will take the lead in developing and implementing regular communications campaigns that celebrate the diversity of, and our work with Hackney’s local communities. This will include targeted campaigns around a number of topic specific awareness days, as well as with and for specific communities, to increase our reach across diverse populations.
You will roll out our brand refresh across all our programmes, working together with VCH staff to ensure buy-in. You will be proactive to create new and interesting materials to promote our services and their impact to a wide range of stakeholders including new funders as well as partners, and will ensure all our social media channels and websites are updated.

Salary: Band 5 £31,025.34 - £39,765.48
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00
St Joseph’s Hospice in East London is one of the largest hospices in the UK. We provide compassionate, specialist palliative care to people in the diverse community of East London who are living with a life-limiting illness. Our Education Centre provides an excellent space for the education of our staff as well as a commercial for hire space raising £120k of unrestricted income for the Hospice.
As Education Centre Coordinator, you will line manage the Education Centre Assistant and bank staff to provide the highest standard of customer care to internal and external customers as well as being methodical in your approach and dynamic in marketing the space. You will support the wider training education and development team in ensuring that our Hospice staff have the opportunity to learn, grow and maximise their potential.

Role description
As Commercial Sales & Events Coordinator you’ll provide essential administrative and operational support to the weddings and event hire team. Dealing with initial enquiries and conducting show-rounds to putting together event packages and maintaining the booking system are all in a days work. In addition, you’ll be adept at liaising with clients and suppliers, setting up for events and delivering the best possible experience to guests on the day – always making sure we deliver a first-class service. Weddings, film shoots (we can certainly name drop a few people!), event and venue hires - you’ll deliver excellent customer service and administrative support. You’ll be helping to maximize Gunnersbury’s commercial potential and ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. There is real variety to this role and an opportunity to work across all areas of the estate.

Lambourne End Centre are looking to recruit a Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator. The post holder will be responsible for raising revenue and capital funds primarily from trusts, companies and through organising fundraising events to support the work of the Centre. They will also be required to promote the Centre to potential funders, user groups and the public, especially via the Centre’s website and social media channels. Candidates will need to demonstrate that they can think creatively, use initiative and work productively with colleagues. They need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to enthuse others.
This exciting opportunity will ideally suit someone at the early stages of their career in charity fundraising.
The post will be based on a 35 hour week, but will involve flexible working including occasional evenings and weekends.
Due to the nature of the work the post will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
