About the GOC
We are the regulator for the optical professions in the UK. Our purpose is to protect the public by promoting high standards of education, performance and conduct.
About the Advisory Panel
The Advisory Panel is a meeting of the four Council’s committees (Companies, Education, Registration and Standards) in plenary session. They are established by statute for the purpose of giving advice and assistance to Council (whether or not in response to a request from them) on:
· matters relating to business registrants other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be referred to the Investigation Committee, the Registration Appeals Committee or the Fitness to Practise Committee;
· matters relating to optical training, education and assessment;
· matters relating to registration, other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be considered by the Registration Appeals Committee; and
· matters relating to the standards of conduct and performance expected of registrants or those seeking admission to the register.
The committees and the Advisory Panel meet about twice a year. You can read the current terms of reference for the Advisory Panel, Education Committee, Registration Committee and Standards Committee.
Remuneration and time commitment
A daily fee of £319 will be paid. This is in line with our member fees policy and member fee schedule. This is taxable and subject to Class 1 National Insurance (NI) contributions. It is not pensionable.
Members can claim expenses for travel and subsistence costs incurred on Council business as set out in our expenses policy.
This role is part time with a commitment of approximately 2-3 days per year, including time spent preparing for meetings. Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices in London or other suitable venues.

Purpose of the role
The Head of Support Services is responsible for leading the delivery of The Vitiligo Society’s tailored support to patients with vitiligo and their families, and contributing to the strategic development of the organisation and its services.
Your Experience
We are looking for a candidate (or candidates) who either have a background in charity service management & safeguarding, or working in healthcare, nursing or mental health support.

People Management

Oversee the engagement of volunteers involved in the delivery of The Vitiligo Society’s services and input into the overall development and structure of volunteering across the organisation.

Build, and encourage, positive working relationships with other staff to ensure members receive relevant information at the right time and that communications reflect the lived experience of individuals affected by vitiligo.
Service Development & Delivery

Develop clear operational plans to deliver The Vitiligo Society’s organisational strategy across services.

Lead the Support Services Volunteer Team and grow The Vitiligo Society’s services in line with the charity’s overall growth strategy and priorities whilst ensuring quality, sustainability and safe operating practice remain at the forefront.

Be part of a rota of staff & volunteers answering the Society's helpline

Deliver direct support to individuals affected by vitiligo, supporting them through their diagnosis and treatment journey.

Manage the budgets for service delivery.

Develop and embed robust monitoring and evaluation processes across all services and provide reports to the Charity Director, the Board and funders as required.

To lead on Technology Appraisal submissions with NICE and work with other healthcare regulatory bodies to ensure fair access for patients to the latest vitiligo treatment innovations.

Contribute to funding applications related to service development and delivery, as appropriate.

Develop and grow the Services Team’s income generation capacity by working in partnership with fundraising colleagues.

This is a two year fixed term role until 31 March 2027. Applicants need to be based in the UK. We will consider a job share if we have two strong candidates interested in a part-time position. Salary and benefits will then be pro-rata.

Parkinson’s UK works with health and social care professionals to transform Parkinson’s services across the UK.
We do this through the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network (PEN), a network of around 6,000 health and care professionals with a shared vision: to build an expert Parkinson’s workforce and improve health and care services for people with Parkinson’s.
We bring together and support health and care professionals to share best practice, network and collaborate, share resources and education, and drive improvements to services for people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.
Since its establishment in 2015, the Excellence Network has provided networking and collaboration opportunities for professionals across the different regions of the UK. In England, the Excellence Network is moving to a new regional model aligned to the 7 NHS England regions. The regional model in the devolved nations will remain the same: 3 regions in Scotland, 2 in Wales and 1 in Northern Ireland.
To help us deliver this new regional model, we are looking for 2 healthcare professionals to take on the role of Regional Clinical Lead on a consultancy basis.

What will be expected of you in this role
You’ll:
- Be expected to co-opt a multidisciplinary leadership team to support you in your role. This team should reflect the multi-professional composition of regional services, as well as the geography and should include at least one person with Parkinson's.
- Drive engagement and participation with the Excellence Network at a regional level.
- Inspire, challenge and collaborate with the health and social care professional community to drive significant improvements to Parkinson’s services across your region.
- Act as a professional ambassador for the Excellence Network and help represent the professionals in your region.
- Engage with Integrated Care Board (ICB) leaders to help influence the development of your Integrated Care System (ICS).
- Work closely with the Professional Engagement team at Parkinson’s UK to organise and hold engagement opportunities in your region. This will include working with the team to hold and lead at least one in-person meeting in your region per year.
- Attend the annual in-person PEN National and Regional Clinical Leads meeting.
- Support the PEN national calendar of events through attendance or promotion. This includes Excellence Hub meetings and other activities centred around our national priorities.
- Work closely with the PEN National Clinical Leadership Team (CLT) to discuss and review national and regional priorities. Attend a virtual meeting with CLT 2 times per year.
What expertise you’ll bring
You’ll:
- Be a UK-based clinical healthcare professional, working in Parkinson’s or with extensive interest and expertise in the condition, with exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills. Healthcare professionals living with Parkinson’s are also encouraged to apply.
- Have a good understanding of the landscape of health and social care delivery, education and workforce development to support the strategic aims and objectives of Parkinson’s UK.
What you can expect from Parkinson’s UK
You’ll:
- Be formally welcomed and introduced to the Excellence Network and your role as a regional clinical lead.
- Be provided with an introduction pack, which outlines all the activities of the PEN at a national, regional and local level, so that you can gain an understanding of where your role fits in.
- Meet regularly with the Professional Engagement team to discuss and plan activity in your region, working to a co-developed engagement plan for your PEN region. We will be flexible, taking into account your individual needs.
- Meet with the Professional Engagement Lead or Associate Director of Policy & Health Strategy after 6 months in the role for a review meeting and then annually thereafter (or more frequently if required).
- Be provided with a set of resources and information to support you in your role eg. a ready made presentation on the PEN, data from the services within your patch, including relevant data from the UK Parkinson’s Audit.
- Be invited to an annual event for the National and Regional Clinical Leads, to provide updates, training and opportunities for discussion.
A bit more about the opportunity
Time commitment will be 0.5 days per week (1 programmed activity) to be worked flexibly across the month.
Monthly rate will be based on skills and experience.
Term of consultancy services will be set tenure of 3 years from date of appointment, with an option to extend once for a further 3 years.
We will also ask you/your employer to send across a monthly invoice to the Professional Engagement Manager at Parkinson’s UK and include a short paragraph outlining what you’ve done in the role each month. We can provide an example of this.

Pratham is one of the largest and most respected education charities in India. We developed a model that can teach a child to read and do basic maths in as little as 30 days for £14. We also have preschool, vocational and women's education programmes.
We have strong support from the UK Indian diaspora and are in a period of significant growth, having tripled in size in three years. We expect to raise £1.8m this year and are ambitious to at least triple again.
While you will work in a small, fully remote team daily, you will be part of the global Pratham network. The team in India has over 6,000 staff, and they raise $28m locally. Pratham USA has 14 chapters and produces around 12 galas annually, contributing to its $30m income. We have recently launched Pratham International, and we will work with them to reach more children worldwide in the years ahead.
This role will be key in sharing Pratham’s impactful work with our supporters. The core of the role is to manage digital content across email, social media, and our website, and play a vital role in supporting fundraising events, particularly our annual gala which will be held at the V&A in November this year and recruiting runners of the London Marathon.
We expect to launch a new website in 2025, a version of the new Pratham USA website that is due to roll out in mid-March. You’ll have an important role in adapting and tailoring it for Pratham UK.
There is potential for some advocacy work but that is secondary to the fundraising and communications elements.

Role Description
BASIC is seeking an experienced and strategic Communications Manager to lead and implement effective communication strategies that amplify our mission, enhance our brand identity, and strengthen engagement with key audiences. The ideal candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a proactive approach to storytelling, and the ability to collaborate across the organisation to ensure clear, consistent, and impactful messaging.

Essential criteria for the role:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Marketing, Education, Business, Fundraising)
8+ years of working in a communications role
Knowledge of global security issues with linkage to UK policy
Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies aligned with organisational goals and objectives
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages

Key Responsibilites
This role will lead on the business development for the charity’s key initiatives. Reporting to the CEO, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Work with the CEO, Operations Director, and wider team to implement the strategy for securing income-generating partnerships for 2025-2029.
- Identify organisations and key individuals within them to develop new opportunities for partnerships across the UK.
- Build, develop and strengthen relationships that will lead to increased projects.

Senior Programme Manager

About the Role
This truly is an incredible opportunity for an ambitious and passionate fundraiser to build something special for Mama Cash. The role is integral in driving income growth from high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) and major donors across the US, UK, and Netherlands, developing a major gifts program, cultivate relationships with existing donors, and identify new prospects to help meet our annual fundraising targets.
Core tasks within the role will include:
- Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategy - Create and execute a strategy to identify, cultivate, and solicit high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) and major donors with an immediate focus on the US, UK and The Netherlands

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead MOVE Against Cancer in its next phase of growth, ensuring that our programmes continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those living with and beyond cancer. CEO - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Income Generation & Financial Responsibility
Lead the development and execution of MOVE Against Cancer’s income generation strategy across a diverse range of funders, including trusts and foundations, business partnerships, individual and community fundraising. Create and manage a realistic, achievable annual budget, ensuring that all financial performance aligns with organisational goals. Monitor and report on the organisation’s financial performance, providing regular, accurate updates to the Trustees. Develop relationships with current and potential funders, reporting back on the impact of their donations and securing further financial support. Identify new opportunities to diversify and maximise income streams to support organisational growth, ensuring that the charity can meet its long-term goals. Oversee compliance with fundraising regulations, ensuring that all fundraising activities adhere to legal and ethical standards. Ensure monthly financial reporting and performance tracking, reviewing risks, and taking corrective actions as necessary.
Strategy
Lead the sustainable growth of MOVE Against Cancer, ensuring that the organisation adapts to the evolving landscape of cancer support and related sectors. Work with the Board to regularly review and refine the organisation’s strategy, ensuring it remains responsive to external changes and opportunities.
HR, Compliance & Infrastructure Management
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements, including health and safety, Charity Commission guidance, safeguarding, and fundraising regulations. Oversee data protection policies, ensuring that MOVE Against Cancer meets all General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and data privacy laws. Develop and review organisational policies and procedures at appropriate intervals to ensure best practices and compliance with regulations. Establish a continuous improvement framework, gathering feedback and data to guide the organisation’s strategic direction and operational excellence. Coordinate with senior leadership to ensure that all services meet or exceed the expectations of funders, partners, and beneficiaries.

Significant experience in growing and leading a charitable (or similar) organisation, with a proven track record of success in expanding reach and impact. Previous experience leading a charitable (or similar) organisation, including strategic planning, governance, and financial management. Demonstrated experience in leading and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including managing major donor relationships, grants, corporate partnerships, and community fundraising campaigns. In-depth knowledge and experience of cancer support services and the challenges faced by people living with and beyond cancer, including their families. We are looking for an experienced strategic leader in health services influencing at a local and national level to lead a major new Fracture Liaison Service implementation programme to develop our existing local support offer into a systematic, national brokering effort which can be delivered at scale.
Fracture Liaison Services (FLS) are the world standard for preventing further life changing fractures once a person has suffered their first broken bone. We’ve succeeded in getting FLS mandated in England and Wales, and we are now poised to play an ambitious, pro-active role in the rollout of Fracture Liaison Services (FLS) in England and to work with services in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to embed high quality FLS. This is an exciting new role to lead our work to support the roll out of universal, high quality FLS, preventing 74,000 fractures over the next five years, including 31,000 life-threatening hip fractures.
You will develop and manage an ambitious programme to influence and support the implementation of new FLS across the UK, developing and rolling out a major new FLS implementation programme to achieve 100% FLS coverage in England by 2030 ensuring FLS meet recognised quality standards.
Working with Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), and Health Boards, you will use data and analysis to make the case for FLS to local commissioners, providing the support and tools local clinical leaders need to secure agreement for implementing FLS in their area.
You will also lead the charity’s work with all nations around monitoring FLS delivery, and supporting improvement of existing FLS, to achieve recognized standards of good practice to achieve our aim of enabling access to high quality FLS for everyone regardless of where they live.
Reporting to the Director of Services, Influencing and Innovation, you will lead the service improvement team and be a member of the Leadership Team, playing a key role in strategic and operational decision making for the whole organisation.
